Chimchar Community Day

Another month, another community day! Today’s community day was mostly normal, except for the end. The Pokemon in question was the Generation 4 starter Chimchar, a fire and fighting type that sadly not many people seemed to care about because it’s a monkey version of Blaziken, who came out not too long ago. But a chance at easy shinies and a special move is not something I’m willing to ignore, so off I went, from 11am to 2pm local time, catching Chimchars. And why not? The sun was shining, the sky was clear and blue, the weather was very warm… [Continue Reading]

Destiny 2 and the Invisible Walls That Stop Me From Getting Into It

I really want to like Destiny 2. It’s got a very nice aesthetic and some really nice gun play. The characters look cool and the enemies look cool, even if they’re a bit boring. Really, with how I like games like Borderlands, Team Fortress 2 and Warframe, Destiny 2 should be a game that I would leap into and absolutely enjoy. But there’s a lot of things that stop me from really getting into Destiny 2 and I don’t really know what they are. Well, I know what some of them are. One of the biggest issues for me is… [Continue Reading]

The Parazon – A Cool Yet Unfinished Thing

The Parazon was introduced with the Old Blood update as a way to not just kill Liches but to make doing things like hacking seem a bit cooler, like some sort of far future magic Swiss army knife. But its implementation so far is… woefully incomplete. Because you only really use it for two things: killing and hacking. Now the killing is pretty sweet. You do some awesome flips and stabs as you jump around and skewer your enemies, most of whom are Thralls. It’s not quite as fun when you go to stab a Kuva Lich and get your… [Continue Reading]

The 38 Cent Bar of ‘Chocolate’

When I popped to the shops the other day to buy mayonnaise and some drinks, I spotted piles and piles of these bars of chocolate, in all sorts of different flavours. The shop I had gone to was one of those shops where they also bought old stock and sold it off for cheap, which meant I could get non-perishables, food that takes years to go off and drinks for pretty cheap. They also bought and sold stock that hadn’t sold elsewhere, and that was where these piles of chocolate came in. For a mere €0.38, I could get 90… [Continue Reading]

Kill Yourself To Progress

Throughout my gaming life, I’ve always been told that dying is bad. This thought was amplified whenever I played Team Fortress 2, because I am a Medic main at heart and Medics dying is generally considered a bad thing. As far as I was concerned, my staying alive to heal people and get Uber was vastly more important than literally anything else. If I died, my team would be in trouble and they’d die as well. Death meant failure, that my team would suffer without me. And of course, the dislike of dying carried over into pretty much every other… [Continue Reading]

The Life and Grind of a Kuva Lich – My Thoughts So Far

The biggest focus of Warframe’s The Old Blood update is the fact that everyone gets their own customized boss that pisses players off and can only be killed in a certain way – with special mods only obtainable via relics obtained by Kuva Floods and Siphon missions. And frankly, so far, I’m not a fan. Don’t get me wrong, the Kuva Liches themselves are pretty neat. The personalities are cool, they look cool and they do kinda feel a bit threatening when they’re not being amusing. The actual Liches are genuinely a good thing and are pretty well randomized, except… [Continue Reading]

Team Go Rocket Leaders and a New Special Research

After a lot of weird stuff going on in Pokemon Go’s Twitter page, we now have a lot of sneaky shadowy Team Go Rocket stuff going on, with the appearance of three Team Go Rocket Leaders to complete against the normal Leaders of Instinct, Valor and Mystic, as well as rumours of Giovanni hiding in the shadows. This Pokemon Go update comes in two forms: firstly there’s a new Special Research, which no one really knows much about because the second stage is “spin a Pokestop for 5 days in a row”, which means that no one can race ahead… [Continue Reading]

Kirbyframe – The Insatiable Grendel

Grendel, Gauss’s best friend, came out with the Old Blood Warframe update and, unfortunately, his reception has been lukewarm at best, mostly because he’s completely buried under all the Kuva Lich stuff and, despite being a pretty unique design, he doesn’t have a great ass like Wisp and is overshadowed by the Vauban and Ember reworks AND the changes to melee. So how is Grendel? Well, first you gotta get him. I’m going to be honest though, I went and bought him with Platinum straight away, because I don’t want to do any more Arbitrations. You need to buy 3… [Continue Reading]

All These Changes and I Still Dislike Arbitrations

The concept of Arbitrations was originally really bloody cool. Enemies that are much tougher than normal, longer missions and better rewards, but you only have one life and if you die, it’s game over, you’d be unable to continue and you wouldn’t be able to try again. This was end-game level content, somewhere where veteran Warframe players could stretch their legs and use all their OP builds. But no, that’s not what happens. That’s not what happens at all in Arbitrations. Either everyone dies, a few rounds are struggled through until someone gets oneshot by an invisible grenade or everything… [Continue Reading]

Inktober 2019

Inktober is a challenge where you draw an item a day, generally following a list of prompts and using some sort of ink. 2019 is the third year I’ve done this and, aside from a couple of pics, I’m actually pretty happy with what I’ve drawn. A quick heads up, there are some bare breasts in here, because breasts are surprisingly fun to draw. Here’s all thirty one images, the stuff I drew for Inktober. Day 1 – Falena Falena are a weird amphibious race, part whale, part frog, part other things. This is the race that Epani sometimes appears… [Continue Reading]
