Mindless Violence

Editor’s note: The article you are about to read was originally written in 2008 by my mum, an all-round amazing woman. Today marks two years after her passing, so, instead of writing something myself, I am publishing this article in her memory. Mum was simply the best, a lunatic with a huggable exterior and a sharp wit inside her mind. It’s an honour to be able to share some more of her work with you. I hope you all enjoy this sliver of my mum’s brilliance and insanity. There’s nothing wrong with a spot of mindless violence, I say. Not… [Continue Reading]

In Defense of Comic Sans

There are a lot of things that, for various reasons, really seem to piss people off. Pineapple on pizza is one such example. People get so riled up about it, despite pineapple on pizza having been a thing for decades. Something else that gets hated on all the time is the font Comic Sans. Even before Undertale and that particular named character, there has always been a ton of hate when it comes to Comic Sans. And, as someone who does come from the designer world, some of those reasons are perfectly valid. But are we being too harsh? Or… [Continue Reading]

A Failed Stuffed Crust

I love pizza. I don’t just love eating it, I love making pizza as well. Over the years, I’ve discovered that pizza dough is relatively easy to make, you just have to knead it good and proper. However, there’s only so much pizza one can eat before getting bored. This is why I attempted to make a stuffed crust pizza. Just to make a change. Well, it didn’t really work. And my stuffed crust pizza didn’t look nearly as nice as the one pictured above. So where did I go wrong? I have several ideas. The very first being what… [Continue Reading]

A Brief Look At Gemini Home Entertainment

It’s rare for me to watch actual horror movies, especially on Youtube. My grip on reality isn’t the best and scary movies can and do haunt me for ages. However, lately, I’ve stumbled across “Analog horror”. It’s basically unsettling and traumatic stories being told via found footage or classic VHS cassettes. Older horror, before the time that we all had computers in our pockets. They are designed to look exactly like they came off from video tapes One particular analog horror though stands out to me: GEMINI HOME ENTERTAINMENT. And I want to talk a little about it. Before I… [Continue Reading]

A Thunderbirds Board Game

When I was a rather small kid, one of the TV shows we used to watch was Thunderbirds. This show was made using various puppets, rather than being animated as a normal cartoon. The premise of Thunderbirds was quite simple. A family called the Tracies ran International Rescue, and would go on adventures. There were six Tracies, the dad and five sons, all of whom had some pretty fucking cool aircraft, as well as a satellite in space, ran by the eldest kid, John Tracy. Everything in this show was animated with puppets and physical models, which were all pretty… [Continue Reading]

Macaroni Cheese In A Microwave

I love macaroni and cheese. It’s something I can normally whip up very quickly. Macaroni cheese is warm, filling and somewhat nostalgic. It’s also a dish I mostly make by hand, rather than buying it ready-made. Sure, buying ready-made is almost always easier, but home-made macaroni cheese can actually be done very quickly, especially if you make it regularly. However, normally, you kinda need a stove to be able to make macaroni cheese. Pasta needs to be boiled and cheese needs to be melted in the sauce. The sauce also needs cooking, depending on what recipe you use. And currently… [Continue Reading]

Noodle Cheese

While making macaroni cheese is quite easy, I’ve been looking for an alternative that is quicker and uses less dishes. After all, it takes time to boil pasta and make a nice sauce. But up until recently, I didn’t really have any idea how to speed things up, aside from using two pans and a sieve to drain the water. But, after watching a weird Youtube channel about sausages, I finally found a quicker, easier way to make my cheese and pasta-like dish. Ingredients Some sort of instant ramen noodles. You can use pasta but it takes a lot longer… [Continue Reading]

A Quick Unboxing Article

For most of my life, getting anything via the post is a long, slow, tedious process. Shipping things to Aphrodite’s Island of Love is tricky because, quite obviously, Cyprus is an island. But on top of that, mail here is just slow all round. It’s very easy for things to get delayed, but eventually, the post always comes. That’s why I rarely order things online, I don’t want to be waiting forever for whatever it is I order. However, I have been known to purchase the occasional cool thing. Back in March and April though, Warframe was celebrating its anniversary,… [Continue Reading]

Rest Well, Ringo

Today, a bright and sunny Thursday, 23th July, our poor cat Ringo was put to sleep. You may remember Ringo from an article a long time ago, talking about his life. We also had a April Fools blog post where Ringo took over the website for a bit. Ringo is one of the two cats I’ve ever owned and, once he became a family member, he was accepted and grew up to have a happy life. Unfortunately, his life was recently cut short, due to cancer. He was ill, he was tired and he was refusing to eat. Ringo knew… [Continue Reading]

A Random Review of Everything Everywhere All At Once

I don’t know what to say about Everything Everywhere All At Once. My boyfriend and I picked Everything Everywhere All At Once for a movie night, having heard from various friends that the movie was amazing. It’s over 2 hours long and, although it has a slightly slow start, the ball starts rolling and nothing can stop it. It’s Anarchy almost Heck, I don’t even want to give this film a synopsis or anything like that. The movie is so chaotic that, despite watching it, I can’t really explain what was going on. The movie’s synopsis by actual reviewers kinda… [Continue Reading]
