Gible Community Day

A shiny Gible in Pokemon GO

What’s that? A Community Day with a very popular Pokemon? It can’t be! But it is! After months of unusual choices, we have returned to a Pseudo-legendary Pokemon. Gible Community Day! And because we’ve got such a good Pokemon for this Community Day, we all went a bit crazy. The bonuses were x3 catch experience, 3 hour incense and 3 hour lure models. Spawns were plentiful and incense did spawn plenty of Gibles. About half way through, I noticed some other spawns leaking in, like a Rhyhorn, some Whismur from my incense and some Arons (of course). But the spawns… [Continue Reading]

5 Pokemon I Haven’t Seen in Months

Pokemon that have been MIA for ages

There are a lot of Pokemon in Pokemon GO. Spanning six generations, it will eventually be the most complete Pokemon game around. Assuming they ever release Kecleon. However, a LOT of Pokemon will go missing over time. Because of events and changing spawns, some Pokemon just don’t get a chance in the spotlight. In fact, some Pokemon just end up disappearing completely, until there’s an event that suits them. Here’s a list of a few Pokemon I genuinely haven’t seen in months. Fossil Pokemon The idea of fossil Pokemon is a weird concept. You have an extinct Pokemon that you… [Continue Reading]

Nonsensical Thoughts About Murexes

A Sentient Anomaly in the Veil Proxima

Murex are Sentient ships that seem to appear every so often in the Veil Proxima. They were also one half of the two-pronged Scarlet Spear operation. These colossal, rib-caged ships are menacing sights to behold, appearing from the darkness and disappearing just as quickly. But these ships are completely insane. They were chased off by strange, scrambled signals in Scarlet Spear, yet just hang uselessly in the dark during Sentient Anomaly missions. What is going on with these ships? Murex make no sense! So we have ships that can travel super fast. At least fast enough to zoom away after… [Continue Reading]

4 Dumb Ways We Could Make The Conclave More Accessible

Oberon is nearly as confused about the rubber rings and water as we all are.

The Conclave is weird. On the surface, it just seems like a standard PvP area with different game modes. However, it’s very under-populated. In fact, the only thing keeping it going is a small group of hardcore players, and the curious newbies that occasionally get stomped on. But what could we do to make Conclave more popular? Well, I have some ideas. More Events A few years ago, there was a Conclave-only event, where you could only use Bows. It was a Valentines Day event, and the idea was to have some silly fun. There was also a snowball fight… [Continue Reading]

5 Cheap Pokemon You Should Consider Powering Up

Eevee and its Eeveelutions

Stardust and candy can be hard to come by. While Pokemon like Mewtwo and Dialga are powerful monsters that do tons of damage, they’re not exactly accessible. They seem even less accessible when you realize you need a team of 6 for raids, plus extras, plus different moves for PvP. Dragonite Okay, technically Dragonite isn’t a cheap Pokemon to power up. But when it comes to dragon types, it’s by far the most common. Dratini is the most likely to spawn in events as well. If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, there’s a chance you’ll find them in the… [Continue Reading]

Prestige Nightwave Levels Are So Boring

Nightwave Intermission 3 Menu

Nightwave seems cool at first. You do things, get points and get rewards. At level 30, you get something REALLY cool. After that though? Well… you get prestige levels. These prestige levels reward 15 Nightwave credits for each one you reach and that’s about it. Actually, sometimes you don’t even get the credits. In previous Nightwaves, people have hit Prestige levels 60, 90 and 120 and ended up stuck. But the rewards for even getting that far are pretty damn mediocre. Why do people keep on going after hitting level 30, and how can we make it better? All you… [Continue Reading]

HUNDOom

Medic surrounded by Houndooms and Houndours

I don’t know why I like Houndour and Houndoom so much. There’s something weirdly cool about the angry, demonic Pokemon dogs. I’ve rambled in the past about Houndour. After all, the shiny is adorable, but it took me ages to get one. I now have several, and I love them all equally. Actually, that’s not true. I love Flaffle! the most, because Flaffle! is a lucky, shiny Houndour that I made into a Best Buddy. However, there are a few other Houndours I haven’t managed to catch. Sure, a shiny Houndour is cool, but you have a 1 in 450… [Continue Reading]

On Being Physically Unable To Play Overwatch

Overwatch has always felt off to me. Somehow, it is both still new but also really old. At the same time. And while I wouldn’t call it a spiritual successor for Team Fortress 2, Overwatch has done some pretty cool things. It has a unique e-sports scene, a ton of heroes and a pretty fair model for lootboxes. And the gameplay is somewhat reminiscent of a chaotic TF2 server. Yet, unfortunately, I have never been able to experience any of this. I literally can’t play Overwatch. I promise, I’ve tried. As of writing, I even have Overwatch installed. But I… [Continue Reading]

The Best Ways to get Experience in Pokemon GO

A bunch of evolved starter Pokemon

The grind for experience in Pokemon GO is absolutely huge. Each level costs more and more experience. In fact, the grind from level 1 to level 35 is about the same as the grind from level 36 to level 39. Level 40 and onwards, you need HUGE amounts of experience, to the point that only the most dedicated players will ever reach level 50. Thankfully, there are some ways to get large chunks of experience. It’s a very slow journey that requires a lot of dedication. But with these tips, you should be able to get EXP a little more… [Continue Reading]

I Hate Lesser Wisps

The Lesser Wisp as it appears in the log book.

As bad as I am at Risk of Rain 2, I can at least admit that the designs are mostly fair. The reason I’ve never unlocked an alternate skin is because I need to get better at the game. That’s fine. That’s all on me. And, to my credit, I am trying and I am getting a bit better. I managed to obliterate myself at an obelisk the other day. In fact, I’m also getting closer to beating Mythrix. Have still only beaten him once though. That being said, there’s one single enemy that I REALLY hate. The Lesser Wisp… [Continue Reading]
