What Could A Mastery Rank 30 Test Even Be?

The other day I mentioned how I had reached Mastery Rank 28, almost completely by surprise. In that article, I briefly discussed I was curious what the MR29 and MR30 tests would be, but there’s a bit more to it than that. After all, a Mastery Rank test generally involves testing a specific skill and using the right tools for the job. You can do almost any test using a plain old Excalibur, using (often a well Forma’d) Braton, Lato and Skana, but as your arsenal increases, there are better ways to do tests. A handful of these tests also… [Continue Reading]

Latias Is Still A Bitch

Back in February 2019, I wrote an article saying how Latias is a little bitch of a Pokemon that was a pain in the ass in a few different ways. That was a little under a year ago, and there’s been a few changes in that time. But is Latias still a bitch? Yes. Yes she is. Just like last time the weird airplane dragon Pokemon appeared in raids, Latias popped out of nowhere, in the middle of an event and directly after an event with Ho-Oh and Lugia. The main difference this time is that Latias’s partner in crime,… [Continue Reading]

Not Dawnguard – Some Sort of Strange Bunch of Dungeons and Dragons-related Words

For some reason I decided to write up a really stupid campaign based on how Dawnguard, the DLC for Skyrim, should have gone. Considering I’ll probably never actually be a dungeon master and be able to do a campaign, I’m going to dump this wall of text for you, a whole one-off campaign with maps but only suggested enemies, for you to play if you want to. It’s all free to use because it’s an obvious parody and isn’t even very long. I’ve also gone and made a bunch of maps for this campaign, which you can download by clicking… [Continue Reading]

A Thousand Words A Day

Keeping the Daily SPUF going with an article a day every single day might have seemed pretty easy back in 2013-2015 when the Steam User Forums were busy and filled with actual people, back when there were more people with opinions who wanted to make those opinions known. While not everyone was a fan of the article format, there was enough traffic for me to be able to schedule weeks’ worth of articles. Zoom forward today and it’s been a pretty desperate struggle just to make sure to have 3 days of articles scheduled in advance. While the Daily SPUF… [Continue Reading]

Revisiting the Vox Solaris Quest as a Newbie

As part of the conditions of getting a refurbished laptop from me, my sister had to join me in a few games of Warframe. While playing, she wanted to customize one of the Warframes she had bought and get a new helmet for Khora. She lacked Platinum, but luckily the Khora Delphi helmet blueprint was in the Nightwave credit store, so we decided to do some Nightwave missions to get her 150 Intermission II credits so she could buy the helmet. So we decided to do some fishing, as that was the second easiest thing to do after doing mobile… [Continue Reading]

Mastery Rank 28

Hitting Mastery Rank 28 actually came to me as a bit of a surprise. It turned out I was much, much closer to MR28 than I had assumed, due to the fact that there had been a small trickle of content ever since I hit MR27. In fact, I managed to reach MR28 while still not touching K-Drives or the many melee weapons I am missing. But where all this mastery came from though is a bit of a mystery… Okay, I lied. This sudden mastery is not a mystery at all. It just slowly built up. Unlike the run-ups… [Continue Reading]

Returning to TF2

After being told a few times that Team Fortress 2 is one of the best games of the decade despite being released in the previous decade, I decided to hop back in for a bit. I assumed nothing has changed since a) TF2 at its core has not changed much despite all the updates it received, and b) TF2 has not have any major updates since I left 2 years ago. I dropped into the middle of a Snowycoast game as a Soldier. I’ll be honest, I am never that familiar at any maps post-Two Cities Update and Hydro, so… [Continue Reading]

On Comparing Healers in Video Games

A while back, a long while back, I wrote a handful of articles pitting various healer characters against each other in a weird healing and fighting sort of thing. It’s pretty fun taking characters from different games and throwing them at each other in a hypothetical fight. No one will ever know the true winner until every character in existence appears in Smash Bros or something, but you can make some interesting comparisons. Determining a winner though is much more easily done with characters that do a lot of damage. For example, comparing Widowmaker from Overwatch with the TFC Sniper… [Continue Reading]

Assorted Suggestions for Fighting Kuva Liches

Kuva Liches are in a weird situation right now. They’re a little bit tricky for newer players to deal with, they are a non-challenge and a nuisance for veterans with the right gear and they are a long, tedious slog for pretty much everyone. Creating a Lich is insanely simple and, honestly, defeating a Lich is really simple, it’s nothing more than trial and error. What with it being trial and error, the average Lich can take anything from half an hour to three hours to defeat, excluding time spent getting Requiem mods. That being said, here’s some tips for… [Continue Reading]

The Pros and Cons of Learning and Knowing Greek

Living and growing up on an island that everyone thinks is a Greek island but is actually a nation of its own, I found myself learning Greek and had pretty much no choice in the matter. In fact, I went straight into the Cyprus school system knowing like 3 words of Greek and barely capable of stringing a basic sentence together. I went into secondary school knowing basic words and sentences, mostly because the tiny little village school that had classes consisting of 4-10 students didn’t really have the facilities to help an older child learn a whole new language… [Continue Reading]
