It’s Melting Men

The Manmelter is the most … different of all the flare guns. It’s definitely not the most unusual Pyro secondary out there, since that goes to either the Thermal Thruster or the Gas Passer, but among its subclass of Pyro secondaries it is definitely the most unique. But before I talk more about the Manmelter, I just want to talk about my one pet peeve of this gun, which I’ve mentioned in a previous article before: make the reloading more obvious. Seriously, making it more visually distinct when you are ready to shoot will improve the experience of using the Manmelter a… [Continue Reading]

Tons and Tons and Tons of Shitty Loot

This is going to sound mean, but loot in Borderlands 2 really sucks. It’s awful. It’s annoying as heck. In fact, it’s a large amount of rummaging through crap until you find something half decent. In the early levels of Borderlands 2, that doesn’t matter. The loot is kinda supposed to be shitty since it’s the start of the game and you’re basically scavenging shit. Plus, it makes no sense to give new players stupidly powerful stuff because it’s early doors. The Hyperion weapons chest you open before you get to the first proper area is that bait to continue,… [Continue Reading]

Rebuilding a Relay for the Steel Meridian

There’s an event going on in Warframe right now. An event in which we rebuild a relay, one of the relays that was destroyed in another event three years ago. Dubbed the Pyrus Project, this is a community effort to revive what should have been rebuilt a long time ago. Helping us in this effort are the Steel Meridian, the ragtag force of defected Grineer that just want to help others… as long as they’re not the Perrin Sequence. Except I kinda did the whole event solo. In fact, it wasn’t really “community-y” at all. Aside from sitting in the… [Continue Reading]

Once upon a time, I played Overwatch.

Last Christmas, I got Overwatch. I did tried Overwatch before that during the free weekends, but I never got to play much then due to real-life matters (i.e. swamped by work). I only got to properly play Overwatch after I got my own copy. Before I started, I made a promise to myself to stay as far away from Mercy as possible. I played quite a bit of Medic in TF2, and I am just sick of operating the mystery healing beam dispenser. I wanted to try something new, to see what Overwatch has to offer proper. I started off… [Continue Reading]

Great Weapons for Warframe Newbies

You’re new. You want a new weapon. Your starter weapons are getting old and tired. You NEED something else. I get it. That’s why I’ve got a couple of good, strong weapons that a newbie Warframe player can easily get a hold of. And by newbie, I mean these are accessible to players at around Mastery Rank 2-4, who have access to all planets up to Ceres. After Ceres, and particularly at Saturn and Uranus, things tend to get difficult. Europa in particular is also a very tough moon. There is a quick thing I will mention before I continue.… [Continue Reading]

More Rambling About Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO is something I kinda wish I jumped on earlier. But how could I have jumped on the bandwagon when I had no mobile data on my phone plan? It’s only been the last year or so that I’ve had 4G to use, and holy heck I have treated it like a scarce resource. To the point that I genuinely felt bad getting a €6 top up of 250MB. Because I’d used up my 150MB playing Pokemon GO. Yes, mobile data here is expensive. And free WI-FI areas are few and far between, assuming you can even connect in… [Continue Reading]

On Constantly Finding Skyrim Crashes

I finally found the reason why my Skyrim has been crashing for so long. You see, every time I’d play, I’d eventually have my game crash. The game would freeze then instantly crash to desktop, without a single warning or anything. Sure, it would seem to happen in random areas in Skyrim, always outdoors mind you, but pinpointing exactly where the crashes happen is an incredibly hard thing to do. It’s even harder to pinpoint what is causing the crashes. Most of the time, you’re left clueless. There are a handful of mods though, like the Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE)… [Continue Reading]

“Honestly, kind of useless”

The title is pretty much the general consensus of the TF2 community when talking about most of the stock melee weapons. Out of all the nine stock melee weapons, five of them are universally considered pointless, and should be swapped out the moment a better unlock for that slot comes along. They are the Bat for the Scout, the Shovel for the Soldier, the Fire Axe for the Pyro, the Fists for the Heavy, and the Bonesaw for the Medic. The Bat, the Fire Axe, and the Fists are considered useless mainly because the primary weapons for the Scout, Pyro… [Continue Reading]

Shotguns

The shotgun is the best FPS weapon for me. My aim really sucks, so sniper rifles and assault rifles are right out. I also like getting up close and personal with people, which means I should stay away from explosives if I want to stay alive and in one piece. Anything that hampers mobility irks me, so I will not be using a minigun or a light machine gun. And I really, really dislike having sustained damage when burst damage is an option, so no SMGs for me. Thus, the shotgun is the only option left for me that isn’t… [Continue Reading]

Playing with Bots

Bot games are something of a staple in online multiplayer PvP games. Sometimes, if you want to just have a stress-free round or a warm-up session before a proper match, you boot up a bot game and spend some time clicking on robot heads. Sometimes you want to test out something you came across for the first time, or maybe you just want to know how many shots does it take to kill someone with a particular gun. And sometimes, if the playercount of a particular game is too low in your region, or the servers are down or gone,… [Continue Reading]
