Things You Should Never Buy When it Comes to Warframe

Warframe’s a free to play game. You can get to Mastery Rank 25 and unlock every game-changing item in the game for free, aside from Founders’ items. You can trade for the in-game premium currency Platinum, which is extremely rare for a free to play title. There are also a lot of items only available for free currencies in the game. It’s really pretty amazing. BUT there are still a handful of expensive pitfalls that you really should avoid. Mod Packs These things are fucking awful. You’re guaranteed one ‘rare mod’ in each pack, but rare just means gold, and… [Continue Reading]

Four Useful, Rounded Warframes

Picture this: You’re kinda new to Warframe. You’ve unlocked a nice handful of planets. But things are starting to get tough. You want to stick more mods into your Warframes but you only have one Orokin Reactor available. Which Warframe should you stick a golden potato in, with which to get the most mileage? Which Warframe is the best all-rounder who will carry you the rest of the way through the solar system? A quick note, I’m mainly looking at easy-to-get Warframes. Starter Warframes are always a good choice to potato though, as you’ll most likely know their ins and… [Continue Reading]

How to Hunt an Eidolon

In light of the 23 minutes of raw footage of capturing Eidolons I posted on the SPUF of Legend Youtube channel, I should probably, you know, tell you how to hunt and capture an Eidolon of your own. Because that would be useful. Step 1: Complete the War Within. You NEED the dumb space kid for this. Step 2: Complete Saya’s Vigil, the quest for Gara, so you can talk to her pretending to be dead husband Onkko. Step 3: Speak to Onkko to get your Mote Amp, or better still, kill Vomvalysts and other non-Eidolon Sentients, steal their Sentient… [Continue Reading]

Retvik’s Ridiculous Guide to Rolling and Selling Rivens

Riven mods. All the potential in the world to make your favourite weapons amazing, locked away behind a wall of randomness and horrible Kuva. They’re also locked away behind a limited amount of space, with a base amount of 15 Riven Mod slots, with more riven slots costing you 60 platinum for a measly 3 slots. They’re expensive and annoying and disappointing and if you want to make use of them, not end up with an inventory of crap or make some platinum, you need to learn how and when to get rid of them. Let’s make things clear right… [Continue Reading]

Razorback Armadas and Balor Fomorians – Recurring Tactical Alerts and How to Do Them

All those invasions you do? They do something. They help the Grineer and the Corpus fund their massive projects. Yes, us Tenno have defeated the Balor Fomorians a dozen times. Yes, us Tenno have destroyed the Razorback Armada a dozen times. Yet we keep on helping them, thus they keep on building the funds to restart these projects and have to fight them again. It’s all our fault really, but dag nabbit, we NEED those Detonite Injectors and Fieldrons! So how do we do these missions? It’s not always obvious. The Lotus pops by, drops an item in our inventory… [Continue Reading]

Specters ARE Useful!

So Specters, NPC clones you can make of your Warframes to assist you in missions, they got buffed. Big time. They can now do a much wider range of things, like using abilities! The 22.10 Warframe update hugely increased the AI of Warframe specters so that they can both use weapons better and use their actual Warframe abilities. That means that if you use one in a mission, it will actually do things! Last time I talked about Specters, they weren’t useful at all. In fact, I had only built a set of Warframe Specters to get past a planetary… [Continue Reading]

Trading in Warframe

If you want to get anywhere in Warframe, you need to learn how to trade. The only thing required to progress in Warframe that requires the premium currency of Platinum is the slot. Weapon slots and Warframe slots mainly. The other slots, for Archwings, Archwing Weapons, Sentinels, Pets and Riven Mods, they’re not compulsory but needed if you want to get everything. Things like Orokin Reactors and Catalysts, or Exilus Adapters, they can be obtained during events, given as rewards during sorties or are featured in Alert missions. It’s just Weapon slots (at 12 platinum for 2 slots) and Warframe… [Continue Reading]

Health VS Shields – What’s the Better Choice in Warframe?

In Warframe, you have both health and shields. This is common in a lot of games, but not every game allows you to increase one or the other or both as you please. But not everyone has the capacity to slap a fully leveled health or shields mod on their Warframe. Maybe your Warframe hasn’t reached level 30 yet? Or maybe you don’t have any aura mods or means to increase capacity? Or maybe you simply don’t have room for both mods and have to pick one or the other? So which one do you choose? That’s what I hope… [Continue Reading]

Going Against the Grain – Warframe Builds Without Min-Maxing

In Warframe, it’s common to min-max a build. By that, I mean that many people build a weapon or character to excel in one specific aspect. For example, a person playing Titania might build her to maximize her Razorwing ability, while letting other abilities fall by the wayside. Or perhaps a Saryn player might put her entire kit into spreading spores as much as possible. Trinity is a good example of min-maxing, as you either put as much duration on as possible for Blessing, or you have as little duration on as possible so you can spam Energy Vampire. If… [Continue Reading]
