Regigigas is Coming to Pokemon Go… If You Pay

Okay, I’m going to be honest right now, Regigigas will be available in EX Raids after Mewtwo. But if you want Regigigas and a special research quest, the same way we received Jirachi, Mew, Meltan and Celebi, then you have to pay for it. For the small price of $7.99, you can buy an item that will allow you to access a special research task that leads you to Regigigas, and also gives you other nice things like a special pose and some premium raid passes. Well, you would have to pay for it if the special research task item… [Continue Reading]

Commander Lilith and the Fight For Sanctuary – The Free Explanatory DLC for Borderlands 2

So I finally got around to playing the new DLC for Borderlands 2, Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary. It was given away for free at the same time the Handsome Collection was massively reduced in price, to coincide with the proper announcement and trailer for Borderlands 3. The DLC fills the gap between Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3, thrusting the plot forward. It had taken a while to play because brother, the ultra Borderlands fan and nerd, wanted to play with a full squad. Which is fair but probably made it all easier. The story happens a little… [Continue Reading]

Destiny 2 is Free Until November 18th, So I’m Free to Ramble About it

Right now, as I type, Destiny 2, the base game at least, is free via Battle.net, not long after being part of a Humble Bundle monthly deal for €12 and was free on Playstation Plus in September. You get it from Battle.net before November 18th, it’s yours forever. Which makes it the perfect distraction while people wait for any news on Borderlands 3. You notice I didn’t say Fortuna. Because I have to reiterate this: Destiny is nothing like Warframe, apart from the batshit crazy story and the space ships across the solar system. Nope, this is Borderlands except very… [Continue Reading]

On the new Destiny 2 expansion – There is actually stuff to do!

So it’s been a while since I talked about the Destiny franchise. Almost a half year ago I bashed the new installment pretty hard on the downsides that featured, because there were… many. Truth be told, ever since a shiny refurbished exotic weapon quest was re-introduced on Destiny 2 back in July, the gameplay aspects gradually got better by the time the Forsaken expansion dropped. For this article I’ll be little more biased towards the positive side. Even though the game still has flaws here and there, I’ll save my long angry rant on the topic of duplicate exotics giving… [Continue Reading]

Battlefield 1 – Turning Tides Review

Hi, this is aabicus with the SPUF of Legend! Battlefield 1 came out with the second half of the Turning Tides DLC earlier this month, and I’m loving every single part of it. Now I need to mention a few qualifiers just to be fair: I didn’t try out any of the new guns because they take a lot of time to unlock and I’m playing on a friend’s account (speaking of which, special thanks to Yessirreebirb for letting me use his account again), where was I oh yeah he’s saving up his warbonds for something else so I mostly… [Continue Reading]

Battlefield 1

Happy Armistice Day SPUFers, fast video today, just wanted to quickly inform anyone who hasn’t played a Battlefield game, like myself until recently, that Battlefield 1 is amazing and one of the best multiplayer experiences I’ve had in recent memory. The animations and textures are gorgeous, sound design is immersive, and there are so many little details that other game ignore. There are first-person legs and shadows and reload animations that use the right number of bullets, they put so much effort into the experience around the gameplay and it absolutely pays off. Getting into the actual gameplay, which is… [Continue Reading]

A Chat about Dragonborn

Dragonborn is the other big DLC for TESV: Skyrim. Unlike Dawnguard, which as a Vampires VS Vampire Hunters story, Dragonborn mostly continues the whole Dovahkiin storyline, and goes hand in hand with your dragon-murdering character. There’s a lot of nice things about it, but something… bothers me about Dragonborn, I just don’t know what. First off, Dragonborn is a real nostalgia trip to all the Morrowind fans out there. While you won’t convince the hardcore fans, those who enjoyed Morrowind will definitely appreciate the island of Solstheim and the familiar landscape and architecture of Raven Rock. They’ll also love the… [Continue Reading]

The Unfinished Campaign – Dam It

Dam it is, as the title suggests, an unfinished Left 4 Dead map, made for the original game, not the sequel. According to the site where it was released, this three-part campaign was supposed to fill in the gaps between Dead Air and Blood Harvest. After all, at the end of Dead Air, the finale involves you filling up a plane with fuel so you can take off and fly to safety. Knowing Left 4 Dead, that never lasts. This campaign is designed to have its own unique bits, that required their own scripting in the Source engine to work.… [Continue Reading]

The Three Second-Best Payday 2 DLCs

A while ago, I wrote an article detailing what I consider to be the best Payday 2 DLCs for the money. I’ve updated the article with the times and it still holds up for the budget heister. But DLCs go on sale so many times, that it’s not ludicrous to think that somebody might already own those three, basically the closest things to ‘mandatory’ DLC purchases in the game, but still would like to know what they’ll still get real value out of. So this article is the honorable mentions, DLC that are certainly not required but they at least offer… [Continue Reading]

Payday 2 and Old Memories

Overkill’s monthly side job has updated for the new month, and this time it’s a brand new challenge. Old Memories reads: “Dallas is thinking about the good old days and he would appreciate if you did too. Complete Rats job on Overkill or above, using AMCAR and Chimano 88 with no skills and 2-piece suit.” This is a pretty clever reference actually, because Overkill knows players are going to speedrun the map in order to minimize the risk of going in nude, which is exactly what people used to do back when Rats was a treasure trove of XP in the… [Continue Reading]
