On Nundos

In Pokemon GO and Pokemon in general, most people want a Pokemon with perfect stats. A lot of people call these Pokemon ‘Hundos’, because they have 100% IVs, the maximum in every stat. Now, Hundos are technically pretty rare, and they’re mostly luck-based. While there are ways to increase your chances at getting a Hundo (via Research, doing lots of raids and getting Lucky Trades), there’s technically something a lot rarer than a Hundo: a Nundo. A Pokemon with 0% IVs. And I secretly love these guys. Checking my Pokemon GO storage, I have about 100 Pokemon with perfect IVs.… [Continue Reading]

Primal Kyogre Raid Day

Honestly, I love all these raid days. An event with free raid passes and a cool Pokemon. Mostly. Primal Kyogre though is one hell of a raid boss, and definitely something you need a good team with. This Pokemon hits like a truck, even if you resist water moves, doubly so if it’s raining and Kyogre is weather-boosted. While you CAN do a Primal Kyogre raid with 5 accounts, you need 5 GOOD accounts with level 35+ Pokemon and a TON of revives, especially if Kyogre has Blizzard as its charge move. Blizzard is by far the worst move because… [Continue Reading]

Litten Community Day

I’m gonna be blunt, I don’t like Incineroar. I think it looks smug and stupid and it was CLEARLY designed to be yet another fire/fighting type starter until Gamefreak realized they couldn’t add a fourth fire/fighting starter after Combusken, Infernape and Emboar. In the main games, it’s overly popular and a pain in the ass, and its shiny kinda doesn’t look as good as that of its pre-evolutions. Either way, Litten finally got its shiny release and Community Day in Pokemon GO. It was fine. And it was nice to see the x3 catch XP come back. Getting 7000 XP… [Continue Reading]

A Zorua-Themed Event Would Be Hilarious

Zorua took a while to come to Pokemon GO, but when it finally arrived, it came with a pretty nice gimmick. Rather than just appearing in the wild, Zorua spawns disguised as your buddy. It does this to the point that, if you are walking a shiny Pokemon, Zorua will appear in the wild as a shiny. And when you tap on it, if it’s a Best Buddy, it’ll also spawn with the Best Buddy badge. This gimmick can make Zorua really easy to spot if you’re walking a Legendary Pokemon, but if you’re walking something kinda normal, like an… [Continue Reading]

This Game Is Pissing Me Off Lately

Ugh, it seems like Lady Luck is not on my side lately. I’ve been playing a LOT of Pokemon GO as of late, but if you looked at what I have caught recently, you’d have thought I’d been hardly playing at all. Considering how many events we’ve had recently, doubly so when we had the Sinnoh Tour at the end of February, you’d think I’d have a ton of shinies, a bunch of cool Legendaries, things like that. But no. I’ve got fuck all. In fact, I played both days of the Sinnoh Tour and came away with pretty much… [Continue Reading]

How To Win Every Showcase in Pokemon GO

With the Season of Wonders update, we actually got a bunch of new showcases. The first of which was for Electric Type Pokemon. We were getting more to mostly fill gaps between events, but also because there’s a new reward tied to showcases: if you get the platinum medal for winning showcases, you can get a Professor Pikachu. And, along the way, you can unlock some cosmetic items and a pose for your avatar. The problem is, winning showcases can be a little bit tricky. Luckily, there are some tips on how to win more often. Save your XXL Pokemon… [Continue Reading]

More Things I’d Like To See in Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO is an alright game. It is genuinely free to play most of the time (apart from Keldeo) and you can get a lot done assuming you don’t waste money on a pair of Giratina wings like I did. While you do have to wait, you can reasonably fill out most of the Pokedex. However, there are a few things that I’d like to see changed in Pokemon GO. Well, a few more things. Pity chances During the Sinnoh tour, hardly anyone in my normal raid group managed to get a shiny, despite doing 12 raids each. The chances… [Continue Reading]

The Road to Sinnoh was Paved with Mistakes

For the last four years, we’ve had a region-based event in February, with a large tour at the end of the month. The first year featured the Kanto Tour, which released every Pokemon in Generation 1 as a shiny, including shiny Mew in a special paid-for masterwork research. This continued for Johto and Hoenn, and we just had one for Sinnoh. Normally, leading up to the big tour, you get a “road to X” event, which is supposed to get you into the swing of things and bring back some Pokemon from the region as a teaser for the big… [Continue Reading]

The Sinnoh Tour Was Okay

So the Sinnoh Tour is here and it’s basically the same both days. But, honestly, they tried to cram a lot in and kinda only did it okay. Thankfully, there were no collection challenges, but there was a desperate attempt to have both Sinnoh and Hisui in equal amounts, which kinda sucks because there are way more Sinnoh Pokemon than there are Hisui Pokemon, but at the same time, the only good raids were during the Hisui hours. The spawns in particular varied wildly – one hour consisted of crap like Bidoof and Shellos, while another hour contained awesome stuff… [Continue Reading]

A Rant About Aggron

The other day, I wasted a remote raid pass. I saw a Legendary Mega Raid for Mega Latias, saw 4 other people doing it and thought I’d join in. 5 accounts sounded plenty, right? As I jumped in, I felt even better as I noticed that I was the lowest account there, at level 45. It takes genuine effort to get to level 40, let alone 45. Yet somehow we failed this raid. We failed it 4 times before I gave up, having gone through a huge number of potions and revives. The Mega Latias had Charm and Psychic and… [Continue Reading]
