New Pokemon In Eggs Suck

Another event, another singular new Pokemon and yet again, it’s a Pokemon in an egg. The last few new Pokemon have either been in raids or in eggs. Drampa was in raids, while Revaroom and Charcadet were both locked in eggs. But while new raid Pokemon aren’t too bad, when it comes to egg Pokemon, it is 100% luck. The thing is, you can actively hunt down a new Pokemon either in raids or in the wild. At the very least, finding your first wild new Pokemon is easy, because they have priority on the Nearby radar. Sure, with a… [Continue Reading]

Hatching Eggs Sucks

Hatching eggs in Pokemon GO is a tedious thing. You spend ages walking around and an egg hatches and, most of the time, it’s nothing good. The last ten eggs I’ve hatched have all given me nothing good. But let’s look deeper into why eggs suck so much. Basically, to put things into TF2 terms, eggs are crates, and incubators are keys. While you do get one free and infinite incubator, having just the one makes hatching eggs take a long time. It requires a lot of walking to hatch one egg, with the longer it needs to walk, the… [Continue Reading]

Riolu Hatch Day – Unimpressive

On July 22nd, we had a new event. Called a Hatch Day, the idea is that a Pokemon with an increased shiny chance appears in 2km eggs, and all the eggs you can get are 2km eggs. Riolu Hatch Day was the first of this kind of event, and, well, it wasn’t great. During the middle of a heatwave in Europe and the middle of winter in the southern hemisphere, this was not the best time to be walking outside to hatch eggs. Luckily, I managed to find somewhere cool to walk, and spent most of the event in the… [Continue Reading]

Eggs, Eggs, Eggs and More Eggs

Between today, yesterday, and the day before yesterday, I’ve walked about 10 kilometers. With that 10km, tracked in Pokemon GO, I managed to hatch an egg. It gave me an Espurr, a Pokemon I forgot that it even existed. But as soon as that egg had hatched, I was already trying to pick what egg I should try and hatch next. I opted for a 12km egg, because I am looking for a female Salandit. That’s stupidly rare as it is, but these 12km eggs won’t hatch themselves. The problem is, I can’t hatch eggs fast enough with just the… [Continue Reading]

Why the Heck was Hisuian Voltorb in 7km Eggs?

Pokemon GO’s egg system is probably the most gamble-y thing in Pokemon GO. While it’s nice to walk eggs and see what you hatch, the odds are rarely in your favour. In fact, some eggs are awful, with low chances of hatching anything that’s vaguely good. In fact, most of the time, I find myself hatching things that I could have caught in the wild. However, I think I’ve stumbled across one of the worst eggs around. 7KM eggs 7km eggs have always been in an awkward slot. You can somewhat control how you obtain them, by opening gifts while… [Continue Reading]

12km Eggs Are Stupid

I’ve mentioned in the past how eggs in Pokemon Go are stupid. You can’t delete them, you can’t do much with them and they give shit rewards. In fact, the only time they are vaguely worth walking is during events with halved distances. No one wants to walk 10km and be rewarded with a Feebas. But now we have a new type of egg! And they’re even worse. They’re worse in 3 ways. Problem 1: These eggs are rare as fuck. Shadow eggs or red eggs are hard to get. To get a chance to get a red egg, you… [Continue Reading]

WAY Too Many Events In Pokemon Go – Are Events Becoming A Problem?

Editor’s Note: This article’s kinda weird now that places are locking down because of COVID-19, but the article does still apply because the raid events ARE still happening, despite lock downs. The major difference is that these raid events have also turned into PVP events too. Wow. This year has been absolutely jam-packed with events in Pokemon Go! We have had so much to do! In March alone, except for normal events like Community Days, we have had an event every weekend, with overlapping events too! In fact, it’s reached the point where I can’t keep up! What is going… [Continue Reading]

7km Eggs in Pokemon Go are Just Bad

There’s been a lot of events that have featured 7km eggs in Pokemon Go. From the event that made all 7km eggs only need to be walked 2km to be hatched, to the World Tourist Day event that put regional Kanto Pokemon in 7km eggs, to the recent Sinnoh event that briefly put Gible in 7km eggs, these bastard unhatched Pokemoon shell things are pretty vital to a lot of Pokemon Go activities. 7km eggs are also unique in the way you acquire them – they can only be obtained by opening gifts sent by other players, and any egg… [Continue Reading]

The Problem with Eggs and Incubators in Pokemon Go

Hatching eggs seems to be a recurring thing in Pokemon, with almost all Pokemon in existence having been hatched from what are honestly pretty large eggs. This is the same for pretty much everything except from Legendaries, which just happen to spring into reality or are made in labs. Eggs are also a thing in Pokemon Go, despite the fact that there is no breeding or anything. In fact, abandoned eggs are just given as rewards for spinning Pokestops, which, if my theory about Pokemon Go critters being brain-dead clones from the real Pokemon dimension has anything to say about… [Continue Reading]
