“Oh God I’m So Sick of Politics!”

I’ve been sad and down the last few days, mostly by my own self-induced reasons. When I’m feeling down, I find myself avoiding Facebook and photos of everyone’s seemingly happier lives. I also tend to avoid Twitter like the plague. But I do often find myself browsing Imgur, looking for amusing cat pictures. Or I’ll browse Reddit for a bit. However, I’ve noticed that, even within the more organized categories of Reddit, two things have been seeping through. The first is people talking about politics, particularly USA politics. The second is people complaining about people talking about politics. “But my… [Continue Reading]

Starving A Lot in Don’t Starve Together

“Hey, I know dad gave us €20 to buy take-out, but why don’t we buy a game instead?” A simple enough premise. We had tons and tons of Christmas dinner leftovers, and didn’t need to buy takeout. The idea was to buy a pack of four games in the Christmas sales to play instead. Makes sense, right? What none of us anticipated was how long that would take. We spent two hours choosing a game. Seriously, we spent bloody ages picking things out. An early contender was Shadow Warrior 2, which me and brother already owned and only needed two… [Continue Reading]

The Issue With Space Mums in Warframe

It seems like we have a lot of problems with parental figures in Warframe. None of them seem to treat the Tenno as they really are. Every single Tenno is a child. Okay, sure, said child was forcibly grown up and trained to pilot a walking genocide machine. Sure, all the Tenno are basically immortal. And not all the Tenno are accounted for. But it’s definitely true that the Tenno are kids. Although they are growing up at a weird pace. However, the way they are growing up is being fundamentally altered by the multitude of parental figures wandering around… [Continue Reading]

Hi 2021!

Hiya, 2021! How are you? Nice and fresh, I hope? Ready to start a fresh new year? I really hope so. After all, 2020 was a bit of a wash. Everyone’s counting on 2021 to be a bit better. Not even a lot better. Just good enough to feel somewhat normal. If 2021 can be a bit more like… I dunno, 2015? That’d be great. Heck, even 2019 or 2018 would be fine. Either way, it’d be great if 2021 could be a bit less depressing. Okay, gonna be honest here, talking to a year as if it has any… [Continue Reading]

A Vaguely Festive Article

Ugh. Normally I’m someone who loves the festive break. It’s always so much fun. The family gets together. We have presents. Tons of food is made and then eaten. It’s the festive season, that one chance to actually unwind for a bit and, hopefully, have plenty of time off work. No work, combined with gifts and good food, a pretty good combination for most people. Even if you’re not religious, there’s at least something to enjoy. Well, aside from Christmas music on loop in stores. I’m all for Christmas spirit, but I want to murder people after the first time… [Continue Reading]

The Power of Drifting GPS

You’d think, what with the events of 2020, that this year would be bad for Pokemon Go. In fact, it’s been quite the opposite. This year has been better than all previous years when it comes to making money. Pretty early on, Niantic added a bunch of benefits to allow most players to play at home. Free daily items, Team Rocket balloons, buffed incense, your daily spawn, all changes to make the game playable in a locked down environment. One of the more major changes was the removal of the walking requirement to access the Go Battle League, which means… [Continue Reading]

A Dialga Called Carie

I’ve actually used the name ‘Carie’ a lot in the past. Anything that does any particular heavy lifting gets the name. I had multiple Flygons in Pixelmon called Carie. Why? Because they were the first flying Pokemon I came across. Those Flygons carried me around until I could secure better Pokemon, both in travel and the occasional boss fight. The first Machamp I had in Pokemon Go was called Carie as well, as it was my only fighting type for a little too long. That Machamp was deleted eventually, due to having awful 0-star stats and eating too many TMs… [Continue Reading]

Pokemon GO, its Push for Paid and Ticketed Events and Why This Might Be A Problem

There have been so many events lately, that it’s actually hard to catch normal Pokemon spawns. But we’ve also been getting an increasing number of paid-for ticketed events. Originally, the only pay-to-play events were Go Fest and Safari Zone events, which happened at physical locations. Last year though, Regigigas was introduced through a special research. A special research that you had to buy. While Regigigas later came out in EX raids, this paid for event was originally the only way to obtain Regigigas. Since then, we’ve had a steady trickle of more and more events. Clearly the Regigigas event did… [Continue Reading]

My Favourite Legendary Pokemon

Legendary Pokemon are awesome. Well, most of the time. They’re always cooler than normal Pokemon. Because you’re only supposed to encounter a Legendary Pokemon once, they can go ham. You can give them cool powers and cool looks, it doesn’t matter. But because Legendary Pokemon are so powerful, it’s unfair to compare them to everyone else. I’ve always loved Legendary Pokemon more than normal Pokemon. Mostly because they seem a tad more intelligent. But frankly, having the choice to pick whatever Pokemon I want, of course Legendaries win out. After all, if I could choose any Pokemon, a massive green… [Continue Reading]

Destiny 2’s DLC System Feels Expensive for What It Is

I’ve always wanted to like Destiny 2. The premise seems awesome. It’s like a cross between Borderlands and Halo with a hint of Warframe. I completely missed the train on Destiny 1, but Destiny 2 having both an open beta and becoming Free to Play meant I could give it a go. But every time I do try and get into Destiny 2, I get frustrated. Half of it is that I find the platforming required to be atrocious. The other half is that, well, I feel like I might as not be playing without DLC. Please note that this… [Continue Reading]
