The Humble Capture Mission

After a mediocre day, there is always one thing that cheers me up. Capture missions. Ideally Void Fissure ones. Even better if they’re Lith Fissures on Venus or Mars. There’s something about their simplicity that I truly enjoy. Capture missions are one of the easiest mission types in Warframe. You leap into the mission, leap through randomly picked tiles to get to the Capture Target, you attack the target until he or she falls down, then you stand over them and turn them into little cubes. After that, you’re free to do whatever you want. Most people will just head… [Continue Reading]

On Sound Cues

Playing Left 4 Dead 2 recently made me realize something. The sounds and music in that game and its predecessor Left 4 Dead 1 are absolutely amazing. Really, the more I think about it, the more I feel the sound direction is what ties the game together and gives both the game and the player direction without being in your face. You see, in Left 4 Dead, there’s not a huge amount of actual music. All the music comes from the many sound cues from your environments as you walk by. You know when there’s a tank coming, not just… [Continue Reading]

Farming for Kuva

Farming for Kuva is one of the most tedious things in Warframe ever. There are few things on the same level as Kuva farming. Defection and the Infested Salvage mission to farm for Nidus mostly. But at least the reward of getting Nidus is totally worth it, and once you have that lone Harrow part, you can ignore Defection completely. The farm for Ivara might be tedious but Spy missions are always good to learn, considering they’re common in Sorties. Kuva though, it’s a resource in multiple weapons and you need a TON of it for re-rolling riven mods. Kuva… [Continue Reading]

On The New Kuva Survival

As soon as the update hit, I knew exactly what would happen. People coming out in droves screaming that this “Kuva in the Kuva Fortress” mission doesn’t give enough Kuva and that it’s not very good and that DE should be ashamed of themselves. That was exactly what happened. That and a few bugs – Kuva not being saved to your inventory at the end of the mission and being unable to farm more Kuva, but I think they’ve been ironed out already. The mission is simple. On Taveuni, the Survival mission on the Kuva Fortress, enemies can now drop… [Continue Reading]

On Mastery Tests

I hate Mastery Tests. You need to do one every time you level up your Mastery Rank. The tests range from anything between “do this super short obstacle course” to “kill a bunch of enemies without dying using just one weapon type” to “stealth kill all these enemies who cause you to lose a life should they even catch a glimpse of you and you’re not allowed anything but a melee weapon, no abilities either.” There’s one for every rank, from Mastery Rank 1 to Mastery Rank 25, with new mastery ranks and tests being released when there’s enough items… [Continue Reading]

A Blaze Restrained – Ember and Chroma Nerfs and an Opinion

In the recent Shrines of the Eidolon update, there was a ton of buffs to both weapons and Warframes. There were also some nerfs though. Mainly in the form of Chroma and Ember, two rather popular Warframes, one of which is due a Primed frame and one of which is currently unvaulted for a short period of time. Chroma’s nerf changed the way he used his buffs. Basically, the way his abilities worked, he would multiply both his armour and his damage by a certain amount (based on how much shield and health damage he’d taken) and this multiplication would… [Continue Reading]

On Being a Massive Coward

I like to think that I’d be a great NPC for a game like Skyrim. A coward of a person who asks the protagonist to go and fetch some insane item for them because there’s no way they’ll ever be able to obtain it themselves. Then, when danger rears its ugly head, I stand in a corner failing to hit it with my bow and arrows, then panic and run away. On the plus side, at least I’d pay you for your hard work. I’m a coward. I don’t like taking risks. I’ll let the strong ones deal with the… [Continue Reading]

Teralysts, Gantulysts and Hydrolysts, oh my!

The Shrine of the Eidolon update brought with it some new Eidolon related things, as one might expect. Honestly it would be pretty weird for an update named after a thing to not contain said thing. But yes, as well as the Teralyst, you can now fight two new Eidolons, both of which are fucking huge and way bigger than the Teralyst. But at the same time they both kinda just look like the Teralyst with some small changes. If you’re still here, I’ll assume you’ve completed the War Within. Because you need your dumb space kid. Teralysts, Gantulysts, Hydrolysts… [Continue Reading]

Medic Rambles On About How Warframe Bosses Can Be Killed Multiple Times

Warframe, like most games with multiple players fighting against AI enemies, has bosses that just do not seem to want to die. You have to kill a lot of them at least three times minimum in order to get Warframe part blueprints out of them. Where the heck are they getting these blueprints from anyway? That’s kinda besides the point though. Anyway, how DO all these enemies come back from the grave? We’ll start with the Infested. There’s three main Infested bosses – Phoroid, who is fought in Infested Invasions, should they take over a boss node; Lephiantis and the… [Continue Reading]

Ideas To Spice Up Missions

The Acolyte event in Warframe has ended, and the Ghouls event is slowly ending too. The basic gist of it was that the Acolytes, a bunch of edgy friends of the Stalker (last seen in the Second Dream), are roaming around and need to be killed. Each one would hide on a node somewhere on the star chart until someone stumbles across them in a mission, which helps pinpoint the Acolyte’s location. Once they’re found, people can do the mission and search the map to lure an Acolyte out of the shadows, fight them, defeat them and get some rare… [Continue Reading]
