Team Rocket GO are Mediocre, But I Love Them.

Every Pokemon game has some bad group that do bad things and you, the 10 year old player character, have to go and stop them. In Pokemon GO, we get Team GO Rocket, run by what I assume is a clone of Giovanni. It’s called Team GO Rocket, either way, but Team Rocket GO is cooler. Or I can just call them Team, Rocket, it’s all the same. Still, probably better than Team Star in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Team Star just seems to be filled with kids bunking off school or something. Anyway, Team GO Rocket aren’t really much… [Continue Reading]

5 More Best Pokemon To Beat Team Rocket Grunts

Pokemon GO’s Team Rocket are still around and they are stronger than ever. The last time I saw them, I beat the crap out of them, and was rewarded with the worst Apex Lugia and Apex Ho-Oh possible. We’ve actually gone over good Pokemon for Grunt battles before, but there are always options, especially as Team Rocket change up their loadouts semi-regularly. Today, we’re going to go through 5 more Pokemon that do great against Team Rocket. Heatran Most people don’t like Heatran, and for good reason. It’s kinda ugly, badly shaped and appears in 5* raids way, way too… [Continue Reading]

A Forgotten Plot Amid Seasons

For a while now, there has been some sort of on-going story arc in Pokemon GO. The Season of Mischief introduced us to Hoopa and portals, and that mini plot point somewhat led us to a large door. Season of Heritage gave us a proper idea that something strange is going on. However, none of this plot is particularly… memorable. Nor does it make much sense. And with Season of Heritage leaving and Season of Alola starting, the plot lines just kinda fizzle out. “Wait there’s a plot?” So, throughout Season of Heritage, we had some interesting plot threads lying… [Continue Reading]

Two Weeks Without Team Rocket

In the middle of April, a Pokemon GO update broke Team Rocket fights. The bug didn’t affect everyone, but it would basically soft-lock the game. So, to keep the game playable, Team Rocket was disabled. Honestly? I thought this would be fine. I’d survive without Team Rocket, even if I was at 5/6 radar components. It’d be fine, right? Well, no. I kinda lost interest in the game. I was actually kinda surprised by this. Originally, I thought I’d be fine. But I quickly stopped opening the game as regularly. Normally, I’d use Team Rocket fights for the stardust and… [Continue Reading]

The Best Team Rocket Grunt

Team Rocket Grunts come in a bunch of different forms. Generally, they are male or female and have Pokemon based on their type. You can generally guess what Pokemon they’ll have based on the line or pun they spout when you challenge them. When you defeat a grunt, they’ll scurry off and leave one of their Pokemon behind. Grunts seem to change on a regular basis. Well, I say that, the grunts themselves stay the same. No matter what Pokemon they have, they’ll spew the same old puns and one-liners. And they’ll always abandon one of their Pokemon at the… [Continue Reading]

The Weird Thing I Miss in Pokemon Go – Team Rocket Grunt Battles

It’s funny what I find myself missing. Due to, well, the world collapsing and a lot of people staying indoors, Pokemon Go has been a bit of a weird thing. But even with the world being what it is, I recently moved house. Because of that, I no longer have stupidly easy access to Pokestops. Sure, I managed to get a Pokestop at the end of my road, but the density of Pokestops just isn’t there. And because of this, I can’t do the thing I weirdly enjoy most in Pokemon Go. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s because the… [Continue Reading]

The 5 best Team Rocket counters in Pokemon GO

We’ve discussed good gym defenders, good gym attackers, good legacy moves, and good Community Day Pokemon in Pokemon GO. (And Metagross appeared on every list!) But nowadays, there’s a whole new element to the PvE experience: fighting Rockets! Yes, those dastardly Rockets are everywhere nowadays, taking over our Pokestops and challenging well-to-do trainers at the drop of a hat. Team Rocket Leaders up the ante, bringing a full set of shields and some seriously dangerous Pokemon with them, and things boil to a head with Giovanni and his shadow legendary birds. The combat system for fighting rockets is so different… [Continue Reading]

The Take-Over Continues – The Team Rocket Quest Again

Back in November, we were introduced to the quest Looming in the Shadows, which introduced Team GO Rocket Leaders and of course the Boss Giovanni into Pokemon Go, with a series of tasks that led you to obtaining the first shadow legendary, Articuno. Then, in December, we got the special research A Challenging Development, which was exactly the same set of tasks except for the fact that you got a shadow Zapdos instead of a shadow Articuno. Now, in 2020, we have a new yet identical series of tasks called The Take-Over Continues. Which will give us a shadow Moltres.… [Continue Reading]

Ty and the Army of Evil Zubats

I talked about the release of Team Go Rocket and their takeover of Pokestops across the world, but last Sunday, Team Go Rocket decided to try and take over every Pokestop on the planet for an hour local time. Which is fine because I actually haven’t seen many Team Go Rocket-controlled Pokestops and the ones I have seen, it’s ALWAYS the same ones. Specifically the one next to the old police station and the one where the new Cafe Nero is, and they’re like a 5-10 minute walk apart. So during this hour of intense Team Go Rocket invading, I… [Continue Reading]

Team Rocket Attacks Pokemon Go and the Real World

A new Pokemon Go update has appeared, featuring Team Rocket of all people. Wait, no, not Team Rocket. This lot are called Team GO Rocket, to totally differentiate themselves. Team GO Rocket are attacking Pokestops and stealing the resources from them and it’s up to us to stop them! Actually, the system is pretty cool. You can spot an affected (infected?) Pokestop because it’s darker than most and the cube on top vibrates and glitches out. As you get closer, the Pokestops turn black, a nice red R appears on top and a Team Rocket Go NPC appears and challenges… [Continue Reading]
