Useful Specter Loadouts for People Who Need AI Friends

Specters are great. Even before they were buffed up to actually use abilities and buff team mates, they’ve always been useful to me. It’s basically like adding an extra idiot into the fray, someone who will distract enemies and possibly even kill some of them, but is cheap and easy to make and doesn’t ruin your day if it gets murdered the way a Sentinel, animal companion or fellow human player would. If you’re playing on your own, a Specter can go a long way in higher level missions. But what Specters should one take? Do you take the cheap,… [Continue Reading]

The Vectis

Back when I was new in Warframe and running around as Volt all the time, I mostly relied on the Ignis Flamethrower. In those days, it had a much lower Mastery Rank requirement, and I spent a long time farming for parts so I could build it. I mean, it’s a flamethrower, what’s there not to like? Back then, the Ignis also shot through walls, which amused me greatly. On my older yet newer account, Phovos the Excalibur, he doesn’t have such luxuries. Mainly because the Ignis requires Mastery Rank 6 now. But also because he picked up a potentially… [Continue Reading]

On Giving Guns to Sentinels

I forget that Sentinels have weapons. I always do, up until I get Riven Mods for them from sorties. My Riven luck has petered out completely, gifting me a perfect mod for the Glaxion that only shoots 10% of the time and three shitty Sentinel weapon Rivens. Almost no one wants a Riven Mod for a Sentinel. In fact, not everyone wants guns on Sentinels in general. But why? Well firstly, giving weapons to Sentinels causes them to draw aggro. Which often means they get killed. Unlike Kubrows and Kavats, Sentinels can’t be revived unless you use the Regen or… [Continue Reading]

On Never Playing Hydroid

So, a Hydroid walks into the Strata Relay, wearing lots of black and red and white and blue. Traditional Pirate looks. Floating behind him is a bright red and yellow Para Carrier Sentinel, flapping its dumb, pointless wings. He’s got a Bolto on his hip and a Glaive, but for some reason the Glaive is attached to his crotch rather than his arm. The Hydroid heads straight for the bar behind Teshin’s little Conclave crevice, where the other cool Tenno hang out. The Tenno eye this Hydroid, but apart from the Glaive on his crotch, he’s not bothering anyone. But… [Continue Reading]

Revenant, better known as “WHY ARE MY THRALLS SO BAD, SCREW THIS I’M GOING TO BE A BALLERINA”

Oh hey, a new Warframe came out and his acquisition isn’t as god awful as Khora’s. Revenant came out in his own little update, Mask of the Revenant, with a shitty ‘quest’ that got you his blueprint, but only AFTER you acquired all his parts via high level bounties, one of which can also get you Gara parts. I admit I got lucky (by playing with someone who regularly seems to sacrifice goats to Lootcifer) so I managed to have Revenant built in a pretty short amount of time. I’m going to be honest, it’s not worth rushing Revenant. I… [Continue Reading]

On Hating Other Warframes in Missions

Once upon a time, someone asked me to stop using Speed in a mission. It was a void fissure mission and I’d gotten the fancy void buff on my Warframe, which increased my Power Strength by quite a bit. At the same time I was using my Excessive Speed build which had high power strength. This caused my Speed buff to become a little too strong. So understandably, the other guy didn’t want to be running into walls. They asked politely, I made sure I was out of range and used Speed when I was on my own. No problems,… [Continue Reading]

Beefing Up My Operator

It’s been a while since I talked about the Operator, the doofy little teenage kid controlling your metal death machines from a chair in the back of your ship. I think the last time I mentioned them, I was complaining about how my Operator treated Ordis like he was nothing during the Sacrifice quest. But gameplay-wise, Operators aren’t… as bad as you think. As long as you beef them up a little. Your stock Operator straight out of the War Within is weak as heck. That’s mostly intentional though. You’ve just realised you can jump through space and time to… [Continue Reading]

Rebuilding a Relay for the Steel Meridian

There’s an event going on in Warframe right now. An event in which we rebuild a relay, one of the relays that was destroyed in another event three years ago. Dubbed the Pyrus Project, this is a community effort to revive what should have been rebuilt a long time ago. Helping us in this effort are the Steel Meridian, the ragtag force of defected Grineer that just want to help others… as long as they’re not the Perrin Sequence. Except I kinda did the whole event solo. In fact, it wasn’t really “community-y” at all. Aside from sitting in the… [Continue Reading]

Great Weapons for Warframe Newbies

You’re new. You want a new weapon. Your starter weapons are getting old and tired. You NEED something else. I get it. That’s why I’ve got a couple of good, strong weapons that a newbie Warframe player can easily get a hold of. And by newbie, I mean these are accessible to players at around Mastery Rank 2-4, who have access to all planets up to Ceres. After Ceres, and particularly at Saturn and Uranus, things tend to get difficult. Europa in particular is also a very tough moon. There is a quick thing I will mention before I continue.… [Continue Reading]

Mask of the Revenant – New Mini Quest and Warframe

The Mask of the Revenant update came out late on the night of Friday the 26th of August, so late that I didn’t expect to see it until the following Monday. It comes with a new Warframe called Revenant and a new mini quest. Not a real quest like the Sacrifice, but not even a semi quest like Patient Zero for Mesa’s blueprint or the entirety of the Limbo Theorem and the Sands of Inaros quests. As in, the quest doesn’t appear in one’s Codex like most other quests do. But yes, Revenant is here. The 36th Warframe. His quest… [Continue Reading]
