Things I don’t like about Overwatch

As I was writing that title, I could already hear crowds of people screaming that I’m an uninformed fun-hater TF2 fanboy nitpicking things to make themselves feel better. People can be like that. And yes, while I am a TF2 fanboy, I can admit that Overwatch is a very good game. That doesn’t mean that there’s problems with it though, after all, no game is perfect (and I’ll be doing an article about Things I Don’t Like in TF2 later). If you love something, you should be able to see its flaws, and offer advice on how to improve them.… [Continue Reading]

A Shout-out to the Warframe Community

I bet regular readers of the Daily SPUF are sick and tired with the flurry of Warframe articles I’ve written lately, but after a game I played the other day, I feel a shoutout is required, to the Warframe Community, which, for a video game with both PVE and PVP experiences, is pretty unique. The game in question was a mission on Venus. In Warframe, you get regular alerts offering various rewards, from rare components to mod-upgrading Endo to large amounts of credits, on top of quests and missions you do normally. They’d all have standard names, like Survival or… [Continue Reading]

Why Resistances are Mostly Bad

Resistances and damage vulnerabilities are a thing in TF2. They’re scattered here and there as pros and cons to using weapons. They often appear as passive pros and cons, but some weapons throw on resistances or vulnerabilities whenever you switch weapon. Whatever Valve does with them, I don’t really like them. Actually, I hate resistances. First off though, damage vulnerabilities. Despite what you may think, vulnerabilities don’t really bother me. They’re easy for most players to understand, if you use, for example, the Candy Cane, you know that explosions are even more deadly than usual and you need to avoid… [Continue Reading]

Warframe – Mobility Mash

It’s taken me a damn long time, but I think I have finally, finally figured out the basics of Warframe. Not so much the shooty guns part, I had that down right off the bat. But I now understand just how… insane this weird game is. Warframe genuinely is weird. It’s a farming simulator with space ninjas. But they’re not really ninjas, they’re more biomechanical warriors with mystical powers and really powerful guns that shoot tons of stuff. And they fly around in their own individual space ships. Many of them do wear a ton of black though, so they… [Continue Reading]

Reviewing the Ratchet and Clank Movie

I waited a very long time to see the Ratchet and Clank movie, and now I’ve finally seen it, it’s time for a random review. But before I start, it’s worth pointing out two things. Firstly, I always liked the Ratchet and Clank games. I have Ratchet and Clank 1 and 3, and Ratchet: Gladiator for the PS2. I don’t own a PS3 or a PS4, so sadly I’ll never be able to play the console exclusive sequels, or the newly released Ratchet and Clank remastered for the PS4. Like everyone though, I’ve always disliked the Clank Only levels. I… [Continue Reading]

Cardboard Weaponry – The Medi Gun

I’ve made a lot of cardboard weapons over the years, most of which are replicas of TF2 weapons. This year though, only two new weapons have joined my arsenal. The problem is that I’m running out of space for all these weapons, and since I’m planning on moving out at some point, I can’t exactly take them all with me when I do. I’m considering selling them, but really, how much are people willing to pay for replica weapons made out of masking tape, glue, toilet roll tubes and cereal boxes? Plus they’re fragile and will probably arrive smashed to… [Continue Reading]

Medic goes to Cyprus Comic Con: Day 2

Well, I got back an hour ago from our trip to and from Nicosia/Lefkosia and it was clear enough to see those dumb horrible Turkish flags painted on the Pentadaktyla mountains. I wasn’t going to write a blog post about today but I decided why not? I’m home early enough and I have to write my 500 words a day anyway, as well as jot down ideas for other articles. Today we decided to be a bit more casual in our costumes. I swapped my long sleeved top for a sleeveless one, ditched the stupid grenades and swapped my flamethrower… [Continue Reading]

Cardboard Weaponry – The Flamethrower

My obsession with cardboard replicas of weapons is an odd one. Sadly, as the walls close in and I run out of space to put all my weapons, it seems that my future cardboard weapon exploits will fall towards smaller weapons, mostly secondary weapons. Why? Because I made a flamethrower and it’s taking up way too much room right now. The cardboard Flamethrower is probably the most oxymoronic weapon I’ve made. A replica flamethrower made out of an incredibly flammable material. Seriously, cardboard is cool to set on fire and it glows nicely if it’s coated in plastic… don’t try… [Continue Reading]

Medic goes to Cyprus Comicon 2016

Good day, everyone! Medic here is all excited that she gets to dress up as a video game character and not look like a freak! Today’s article, unlike almost every other article on the Daily SPUF, won’t be written in advance but will be updated as the day goes on, hopefully with a few more pictures. Last year, I dressed up as Malzahar from League of Legends. This year, I am dressed up as Pyro, and I’ve managed to convince Terroxy to dress up as Medic. The event is up in Nicosia/Lefkosia and we have a long day ahead of… [Continue Reading]

I’m not going anywhere

Hey look, something more akin to an actual blog post. Really, the Daily SPUF is more of an opinion factory than an actual blog. We don’t talk about real life stuff. We produce articles and things like that. I feel I should explain what’s going on lately because I’m clearly not myself, I barely post on SPUF, I barely answer messages, I’ve only recently taken over the Daily SPUF again, as aabicus ran the site throughout August. Well, at least until he went on holiday. Then the site crashed and I spent WAY too much time bringing you the new… [Continue Reading]
