A Casual Player’s Ramble About How Mega Pokemon Won’t Be As Game-Breaking As We All Think

Mega Pokemon have been confirmed for Pokemon Go for 2020, but we don’t know much about them. We don’t know how we’ll obtain Mega Pokemon or trigger their special evolutions or anything. All we know is that Mega Evolutions are coming “soon”. But, considering how powerful Mega Pokemon are in the main games, players worry that Mega Pokemon will get in the way of everything. That they’ll be game-breaking in some way. Honestly, I don’t think that’s going to happen. In the main games, these Pokemon are monsters. Mega Pokemon are insanely strong in normal Pokemon games. I mean, it’s… [Continue Reading]

Just Swear Already, Warframe

During the TennoLive 2020 Devstream, we watched an introduction to Mother, one of the Orokin-Infested hybrid beings that lives on Deimos. She’s basically the Eudico or Konzu of the new Infested open world. As we listen to her speak, she is about to very loudly curse as she realises something is wrong. But we don’t hear the full word, because Mother gets cut off. By a robot, who interrupts, shouting “Functional!” What I don’t understand though is… why? Why can’t Mother just say “fuck”? In fact, why can’t any NPCs in Warframe really curse much? Some words are worse than… [Continue Reading]

Magikarp Community Day – Meh?

Magikarp seems like a really strange pick for a Community Day. It was the first Pokemon to get a shiny in Pokemon Go. Yet here it is, having a Community Day. But I suppose complaining isn’t too bad. Ever since I started playing in Pokemon Go, I’ve only come across two shiny Magikarps, one of which got traded (and somehow became lucky) and is a Gyarados now. So a Community Day for Magikarp isn’t that awful. At the very least, it gives people a chance to evolve a Magikarp they’ve had sitting around for ages. At best, you finally get… [Continue Reading]

A Beginner’s Guide to Shoutcasting

I’ve been amateur shoutcasting for 3 years, and I recently got voted by League Zero to cast the grand finals, but I’ve also never peaked beyond low gold in my game of choice. So don’t worry about your in-game talent level, you’re fine! Shoutcasting has almost a completely different skillset from actual playing (just like how most chess commentators aren’t grandmasters) so don’t feel discouraged about your own personal heights. (This goes for other possible esport positions as well, there are tons of options other than playing for breaking in!) If you’ve ever watched a shoutcast and thought it would… [Continue Reading]

On Not Playing in the Go Battle League At All

It seems strange to write about something I’m actively not doing, but I feel like my thoughts may resonate with a lot of people. Despite the second season of the Go Battle League having come out back in June, I haven’t played a single match. I just don’t want to. And the reasons why are obvious. I have no interest in the GBL None at all. I haven’t played a single match this season and I genuinely don’t care. The only time I hit the Battle button is when I’m getting the Battle With Your Buddy heart for my current… [Continue Reading]

Is it Bad That Primed Warframes are Easier To Get Than Normal Frames?

As of writing, the latest Warframe is Inaros Prime, a golden upgrade to the infamous health tank that is normal Inaros. Inaros’s acquisition is quite simple: you buy a blueprint from Baro Ki’Teer and do a quest, which hands you Inaros parts at the end. The Sands of Inaros quest isn’t very difficult, nor is it very long. But it is a pretty nice quest with some nice side-lore. Inaros Prime on the other hand, you can just get him by opening relics. Like every other Prime, his parts appear in specific relics. So you farm up the relics and… [Continue Reading]

How Can A Week of Dragons be SO Underwhelming in Pokemon Go?

During GO Fest, we unlocked a bunch of ‘ultra weeks’, week-long themed events with specific spawns and Pokemon. The first week is Dragon Week. A week where dragons would be spawning regularly. And another chance at Gible for those who missed out on GO Fest. Yet somehow, despite being an event about DRAGONS, this week has been completely and utterly underwhelming. Not enough dragons. One of the bigger problems with this event is that there’s not enough dragons. Alright, there aren’t many dragons in generations 1-5 of Pokemon. At least, not legendary ones. Off the top of my head, we… [Continue Reading]

On Trying to Decide Who My Next Buddy Should Be – Pokemon GO

After a day of being excited from Team Rocket battles during GO Fest, I finally became Best Buddies with my Tyranitar Wondershadow. It took me just over a month to get to Best Buddies, mostly because I’ve not been as active as normal. Well, outside of events like GO Fest. But I managed to get Wondershadow to be excited after constantly battling with him, and the extra hearts I earned were just enough to push me over the edge and get to Best Buddies. But with Wondershadow the Tyranitar satisfied, I wondered who I should walk next. After all, that… [Continue Reading]

Eating Warframes, Taking their Powers and Giving them to Other Warframes – WHAT?

TennoLive 2020 was a roller coaster of emotions and chaos, swirling around the Heart of Deimos. It’s a new open world involving ancient Orokin and a fuckton of new Infested stuff. It’s going to be massive, building on what Fortuna and Cetus created. A strange, hideous yet beautiful landscape filled with fleshy tunnels, demented death mechs, insects used as K-Drives and more. I don’t want to talk about that though. It’s interesting, but not today’s subject. I want to talk about what came BEFORE the Heart of Deimos. Let’s talk about this whole Helminth thing. But to do so, we… [Continue Reading]

A Tennolive 2020 Article

So, I’m kinda writing this as it happens. It’s midnight on the 2nd for me, but it’s still the 1st in London, Ontario, Canada, where DE are located. Tennolive has just started and everyone is introducing themselves. There’s a lot to do, they’re starting with prizes and then they’re talking about charity things. I’m just going to write and see how this turns out, so apologies for this being not a normal article. 320k people are watching this video, just after the Tenno Trivia show has ended. How many are actually excited and how many just want Hydroid Prime, who… [Continue Reading]
