Season of Discovery reminds me of Pre-Seasons Pokemon GO

On June 1st, the Season of Legends ended and the Season of Discovery began. To be honest, the Season of Legends wasn’t that legendary. And the Season of Discovery probably won’t have many discoveries. But something about this new season is odd. Despite being new, it feels old. Why is that? Can’t be the events. The events this June are pretty similar to previous months: constant and hard to keep track of. We’re having a ‘slow’ event soon which will have Slowpoke and similar Pokemon take up 99% of the spawns, and the new Pokemon we want will probably be… [Continue Reading]

More Shinies for Everyone

I was browsing a Pokemon GO subreddit the other day, and in one thread, someone was bitching about shinies. However, they weren’t complaining because they didn’t have any. The opposite, they were arguing that shinies are way too common in Pokemon GO. According to them, shinies should be a super rare experience and we should have to WORK for them. But what this person seemed to forget is that Pokemon GO isn’t a main series Pokemon game. If anything, collecting shinies is a core part of Pokemon GO. Think about it. We have PvP, yes, but it’s very different from… [Continue Reading]

Five Weirdly Good Subsumed Abilities from your Hungry Helminth

Subsuming abilities can be very hit and miss. Most newer Warframes have abilities that work alongside each other, so you can’t really swap an ability out. However, older Warframes have more room to move things around. But the bigger issue is just finding something that synergizes well with your Warframe’s existing abilities. Or perhaps just adding an ability that your Warframe feels like it’s missing. In today’s article, we’ll look at a few subsume-able abilities that can give surprising buffs to your Warframes. The Weird Energy Regeneration – Spectrosiphon Spectrorage Gara isn’t the first frame you think of when it… [Continue Reading]

Gible Community Day

What’s that? A Community Day with a very popular Pokemon? It can’t be! But it is! After months of unusual choices, we have returned to a Pseudo-legendary Pokemon. Gible Community Day! And because we’ve got such a good Pokemon for this Community Day, we all went a bit crazy. The bonuses were x3 catch experience, 3 hour incense and 3 hour lure models. Spawns were plentiful and incense did spawn plenty of Gibles. About half way through, I noticed some other spawns leaking in, like a Rhyhorn, some Whismur from my incense and some Arons (of course). But the spawns… [Continue Reading]

5 Pokemon I Haven’t Seen in Months

There are a lot of Pokemon in Pokemon GO. Spanning six generations, it will eventually be the most complete Pokemon game around. Assuming they ever release Kecleon. However, a LOT of Pokemon will go missing over time. Because of events and changing spawns, some Pokemon just don’t get a chance in the spotlight. In fact, some Pokemon just end up disappearing completely, until there’s an event that suits them. Here’s a list of a few Pokemon I genuinely haven’t seen in months. Fossil Pokemon The idea of fossil Pokemon is a weird concept. You have an extinct Pokemon that you… [Continue Reading]

aabicus’ Baseball Career: The Highlights

This is not a sports blog and I am (in no way) a baseball fan. But pretty much everyone on reddit got to witness one of the funniest plays in living memory last Thursday: Cubs Shortstop Javy Báez somehow turns a guaranteed third-out into a run scored while also reaching second! He himself scores on the next hit, and those two runs cinch their victory over the Pirates 5-3. Can’t help but feel embarrassed for Pirates’ first baseman, Will Craig. But whereas most can only sympathize with Craig, I can empathize, for I also had some less-than-illustrious moments in my… [Continue Reading]

Nonsensical Thoughts About Murexes

Murex are Sentient ships that seem to appear every so often in the Veil Proxima. They were also one half of the two-pronged Scarlet Spear operation. These colossal, rib-caged ships are menacing sights to behold, appearing from the darkness and disappearing just as quickly. But these ships are completely insane. They were chased off by strange, scrambled signals in Scarlet Spear, yet just hang uselessly in the dark during Sentient Anomaly missions. What is going on with these ships? Murex make no sense! So we have ships that can travel super fast. At least fast enough to zoom away after… [Continue Reading]

4 Dumb Ways We Could Make The Conclave More Accessible

The Conclave is weird. On the surface, it just seems like a standard PvP area with different game modes. However, it’s very under-populated. In fact, the only thing keeping it going is a small group of hardcore players, and the curious newbies that occasionally get stomped on. But what could we do to make Conclave more popular? Well, I have some ideas. More Events A few years ago, there was a Conclave-only event, where you could only use Bows. It was a Valentines Day event, and the idea was to have some silly fun. There was also a snowball fight… [Continue Reading]

On Sugar Free Drinks

As far as I can recall, I’ve always had sugar free drinks. I very, very rarely buy sugared drinks, and those are only for emergencies. What emergencies, you might ask? Hypoglycemia, low blood sugar. While having a sugary drink is normally bad for a diabetic, that sugar hit can sometimes be life-saving*. But despite that, I remember never having sugared drinks. However, I never really noticed this, but people seem to have an aversion to diet drinks. Especially big brand fizzy drinks. I always assumed this was because of taste. After all, you can’t really replicate glucose perfectly. Glucose has… [Continue Reading]

5 Cheap Pokemon You Should Consider Powering Up

Stardust and candy can be hard to come by. While Pokemon like Mewtwo and Dialga are powerful monsters that do tons of damage, they’re not exactly accessible. They seem even less accessible when you realize you need a team of 6 for raids, plus extras, plus different moves for PvP. Dragonite Okay, technically Dragonite isn’t a cheap Pokemon to power up. But when it comes to dragon types, it’s by far the most common. Dratini is the most likely to spawn in events as well. If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, there’s a chance you’ll find them in the… [Continue Reading]
