An Idiot Plays Animal Crossing New Horizons

It’s early December and I have a new game to play. I turn on my Switch Lite and go to the home menu, then select the only game present. After a title screen and a loading screen, I am now playing Animal Crossing New Horizons. Although I’ve seen and heard plenty about this game series, I’ve never actually played Animal Crossing. Granted, I’ve only ever played a handful of Nintendo games, but this is special. This is a Nintendo game which I own alongside my Switch. Anyway, welcome to a potential new series: An Idiot Plays Animal Crossing “Jeez, Medic,… [Continue Reading]

Meta Weapons and some Alternatives in Warframe

There are a lot of weapons in Warframe. SO many, in fact, that it’s easy to forget that a lot of them exist. However, a lot of people focus on the most meta of weapons. It’s understandable, people want to use the best guns. This means that many guns fall by the wayside, somewhat unwanted. However, there are some sneaky weapons that perform just as well as the standard meta weaponry. Here are just a few of them. The Lenz The Kuva Bramma is a terrifying beast. When it was first released, it did HUGE amounts of damage. It was… [Continue Reading]

Thoughts on KID A MNESIA

The other day, I wrote an article about a weird art exhibition made in video game form. Everything in there was a celebration from Radiohead, marking the twenty years of their two albums, Kid A and Amnesiac. As well as a virtual exhibition, Radiohead released a combined album called KID A MNESIA, which features the two albums, plus a bonus disk. The bonus disc contains a mish-mash of songs, half of which are untitled. And all of which meld into each other. The songs released as singles are nice. There are two new songs on KID A MNESIA that are…… [Continue Reading]

The Curious Single-Timeline Nature of Everything I Write

As you are probably aware, either from the fact that the Daily SPUF recently hit a milestone in articles or the fact that I, Medic, write all of them, this crazy individual does a vast amount of writing. In fact, I do so much writing that the article in which I mentioned we had nearly reached 2400 articles had to be updated, because I had originally written the article just before we hit the 2300 article milestone and nearly forgot to change it. In fact, I had to alter this opening paragraph to not include a number due to how… [Continue Reading]

The Problem with Primed Warframes and Lore

Primed Warframes look awesome. They are more decorated than normal Warframes, and have pre-existing polarity slots, as well some small buffs. Primed Warframes however still share the abilities of their normal Warframe variants. While a Primed Warframe will often be shinier and laced with gold, the base Warframe can be seen underneath. This can lead to some curious questions. Are the Primed Warframes the originals, as originally planned by the Orokin? Or are our old, normal Warframes the older version, with the best among them being made into Primed versions. Are Primes the originals or not? At first glance, the… [Continue Reading]

Winging Cakes

Baking is a hobby of mine, but it’s a somewhat recent one. My desire to cook more increased when I moved out, because, well, I couldn’t just eat noodles. No matter how much I like them. However, baking is an even more recent new hobby, one that appeared as I moved apartments, and wanted something sweet to eat. Problem is, I like sweet things, like cakes and muffins. And if I buy them from a shop, I’d be even fatter than I am now. As an alternative, I started baking my own cakes, so I can control how much sugar… [Continue Reading]

My First Handheld Gaming Console

The other day, I actually did something rather out of character. People who know me well often describe me as frugal or cheap. I’ve always been unwilling to spend a lot of money on things I like, and always take the cheapest option. Even when I’m supposed to be treating myself to something nice, I still take the cheaper route. And if I can’t justify a purchase, I simply don’t get it. However, for once, I actually bought a proper treat for myself. I bought a Nintendo Switch Lite. For about €300, I bought myself a Nintendo Switch and Animal… [Continue Reading]

Regional Pokemon Just Out of Reach

Regional Pokemon in Pokemon GO have always been a little odd. Instead of spawning worldwide, they only spawn in specific countries an geographical areas. As time passes on, it is possible that we will get more regional Pokemon, despite a lot of players not liking regionals. For many, getting a complete pokedex is impossible, due to being unable to travel the world. Instead, we have to just be content with what we have. However, regional Pokemon aren’t particularly evenly spread out. Some Pokemon are available on other sides of the planet. Others only spawn in tiny areas, and a lot… [Continue Reading]

Stardew Valley

The first time I tried Stardew Valley in 2016, I just couldn’t get into it. It felt like a grindfest, it felt like a timesink, and it felt like I never had enough time in the days. I futzed around for a while, ran out of inventory space from all my tools, and gave the game up. But perhaps my life was just too hectic back then. In the new pandemic-ridden reality of 2021, I suddenly found a whole new appreciation for Stardew Valley. Sow the land Stardew Valley is a shameless Harvest Moon clone who nevertheless does such a good job you can’t… [Continue Reading]
