Trade Maps

Trading servers are a dime a dozen. They’re dime-a-dozen back-stabbing scumbags… No, wait, sorry, I was thinking of Spies. But there are lots of trade servers, from trade_plaza to trade_minecraft to trade_rawr to trade_achievement_idle_noglass, and so on and so forth. While some of these maps, like trade_minecraft_realms, are wonderfully made, with all sorts of pretty things, randomized spawns, health kits in convenient places  and stuff, most trade servers are incredibly simple. Two spawn rooms and a room in the middle connecting them.

The Gunslinger gets a lot of hate. In fact, if we were to gather all the hate for the Gunslinger, we could probably power a mission to the moon. Actually, that was probably a bad example, as modern calculators have more power than those rockets that went to the moon had, but still, there is so much hate, it can make your head spin. Hours have been spend on SPUF going backwards and forwards, with nothing to show for it apart from a single bug fix.

Now, before we start, let’s make this clear: I am not a fan of the Gunslinger. But I am also not a person who screams “REMOVE IT!” and “NATASCHA IT INTO OBLIVION!” and all that. I’m somewhere in the middle. And that’s what the Gunslinger needs, slightly less bias.

Some Tips for TF2 If You’ve Never Played An FPS Before…

The first First Person Shooter (FPS) I played was Left 4 Dead. But because my computer then was a steaming pile of crap, it took me literally 45 minutes with a frame rate of under 10 frames per second (also FPS) to inch my way across the first level of No Mercy. Amazingly, I did it first time, but I made it to the safe room with a miserable 10 health.

It took a very long time for me to get a good computer and properly understand what it was like to move around in a First Person Shooter. My early adventures in Left 4 Dead just did not compare to what it was truly like. Then again, Garry’s Mod isn’t the best example of a First Person Shooter either. Team Fortress 2 though was still out of the question, as explosions would cause my computer to die…
