Riolu Hatch Day – Unimpressive

On July 22nd, we had a new event. Called a Hatch Day, the idea is that a Pokemon with an increased shiny chance appears in 2km eggs, and all the eggs you can get are 2km eggs. Riolu Hatch Day was the first of this kind of event, and, well, it wasn’t great. During the middle of a heatwave in Europe and the middle of winter in the southern hemisphere, this was not the best time to be walking outside to hatch eggs. Luckily, I managed to find somewhere cool to walk, and spent most of the event in the… [Continue Reading]

The Legend of Monkey Island – A Tall Tale – Part 1

The Legend of Monkey Island has just released in the Sea of Thieves, and it’s pretty damn cool. The release involves Melee Island and a Tall Tale that introduces you to the new island and its lore. What we have seen so far is a Part 1 of Monkey Island, with the release of a second and third Tall Tale coming along next month. Now, I’ll be honest, I don’t really know much about the original Monkey Island games, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy it. Because I really did enjoy this tall tale. The first thing that stood… [Continue Reading]

The Sea in Sea of Thieves

When the title of your game has the word ‘sea’ in it, you can expect that it’s, well, going to have a sea. Hopefully a cool sea that actually works. The sea in Sea of Thieves is actually pretty damn impressive. It actually does kind feel like an actual sea. And I feel like that is worth talking about. When sailing, you can feel pretty much every wave. You splash up and down and even sideways. The boat rocks with the sea, depending on how harsh the sea is. You remain calm and steady in clear waters, which are generally… [Continue Reading]

The Sea of Thieves’ Harpoon

On every ship, big and small, there’s always two harpoons waiting for you on the front of your ship. For what looks like such a simple mechanic, the harpoons are there for a myriad of reasons, and have more uses than you’d think. The most common use for a harpoon is for grabbing things in the water. Whenever you defeat an enemy ship, once the ship has sunk and despawned, all their loot comes floating up to the surface. You can then get on your harpoon and start grabbing the floating loot, for safe storage on your ship. Now, these… [Continue Reading]

Random Pokemon Showcases

During the 7th Anniversary Event in Pokemon GO, we were introduced to a new feature in Pokemon GO: Showcases. Appearing on random Pokestops, you’d have the opportunity to put your Pokemon in a Showcase, and whichever Pokemon had the best stat – in this case, size – would win their owner some small rewards. These showcases would only appear on specific Pokestops, and you can enter any Pokemon that matches the criteria. In the case of the 7th Anniversary event, it was “biggest Squirtle”. However, these showcases were initially brief, and they disappeared for most of the rest of the… [Continue Reading]

On Sugar-Free Monster Energy Drinks

Being diabetic, I generally don’t get much in the way of drinks. If I go to a restaurant, normally my drink choices consist of water or sugar-free pepsi. There’s very, very rarely a second option that is sugar-free. However, outside of restaurants, my options do expand quite a lot. Not only can I get diet pepsi, I can get diet lemonade too. But even then, there aren’t that many options, there’s often no sugar-free fanta or anything like that. So, if I can, I tend to turn towards sugar-free energy drinks. And not one brand has as many options as… [Continue Reading]

Summer 2023 – A TF2 Update

So that Team Fortress 2 update is finally here. It’s nothing super special, but it’s here. They didn’t even really give the update a proper name. It’s just Summer 2023. First off, we got a lot of maps. We actually got 14 new maps, which is the most maps from any update so far. I can see why they added so many though, because, well, they are easy to add. Sure, a lot of work and time goes into creating these maps, but for Valve, they are super easy to implement and add to the game. I’d actually guess that… [Continue Reading]

Warframe Cosmetics You Can Get For Free

The end game of Warframe is generally considered to be FashionFrame, the dressing up and customizing of your Warframe. Considering how varied cosmetics are, you’d think that FashionFrame is actually very expensive. While, yes, some cosmetics do cost a small fortune, you can however manage to dress yourself up for free, spending time and effort rather than just buying things. Here’s a list of free cosmetics you can get, where you don’t need to pay a real-life penny at all. Colour palettes Throughout the year, there are actually multiple free colour palettes you can obtain. For St. Patrick’s Day, Easter,… [Continue Reading]

Why I Am Curious About Tennocon 2023

Tennocon is Warframe’s biggest event. It’s a real-life get-together, where players and developers get to meet up. There’s panels, art shows, cosplay and merchandise to be bought. Tennocon also hosts TennoLive, a massive devstream revealing all the cool stuff we have to look forward to. It’s the showstopper. TennoLive is where Fortuna was announced, where we first discovered liches and Raoljack, where the Sacrifice was teased and how we got the Duviri Paradox. It’s massive. But this year, I am more curious than ever. This year, I feel Tennocon is going to be different. And I’m not just thinking that… [Continue Reading]

On Powering Up Shadow Pokemon

I think we’ve all heard it, how Shadow Pokemon are stronger than normal Pokemon. We had an event over Shadow Mewtwo, one that was so highly rated that my entire Pokemon GO group decided to meet up and play. In fact, Shadow Mewtwo is probably the most powerful Pokemon in Pokemon GO, not including things like Mega Pokemon and Primal Reversion. If you’re a hardcore player, then you’ve probably got a maxed out team of Shadow Mewtwos, all pimped out with Psystrike, all ready to go. But is that even really feasible? Is that going too far? Probably. The question… [Continue Reading]
