Things I’d Like to See in the Summer TF2 Update

Editor’s note: This article was written way before Valve decided to subtly change some text, indicating that the summer update was not a real update, just another cosmetic one. So feel free to ignore all of this since it’s no longer going to happen. The other day, something amazing happened. A blog post appeared on the TF2 website. Not just any blog post, but one that had good news in it and wasn’t about some sort of community event. This blog post was a call to arms, a rallying cry to anyone who makes items on the Steam Workshop, to… [Continue Reading]

Medic Plays Pokemon Violet – Part 9

So the next gym on the list is a Water gym. It’s located in Cascarrafa, which happens to be next to a pretty large desert. It’s supposed to be a bit of an oasis, and has running water at least. So the first thing I do is find the gym, which has a lift for you to get up to it. But as I approach the gym, someone rushes out of it and disappears, followed by a secretary shouting. Turns out, the water gym leader has forgotten his wallet, which is something that seems to happen a lot around here.… [Continue Reading]

Mirror Defense Is Way Better Than Normal Defense

I’ve never really liked defense missions in Warframe. They are slow and tedious and always prone to breaking due to having to make sure everything is dead. The main reason I play defense missions is either me starting the day doing the defense mission Seimeni on Ceres, or because it’s in the current sortie or Archon hunt. There are two basic forms of defense and both of them are boring. The first is protecting a static object, generally some sort of metal pod with an unconscious person inside it. The second involves protecting an NPC, who will always try and… [Continue Reading]

Medic Plays Pokemon Violet – Part 8

It’s been a while, but I’ve finally leveled up my Pokemon to an acceptable level and caught a bunch of unrelated Pokemon, and it’s time to actually do some story stuff. Instead of doing gyms though, I decided to focus on doing titans, in order to make my Miraidon stronger and more mobile. However, the last time I faced a titan, it beat the crap out of my under-leveled Pokemon and I had to run away. This time, I’m coming prepared. Both of the titans I am about to fight are steel types, meaning I’ll need fighting types. Can’t use… [Continue Reading]

These Abnormally Sized Pokemon Aren’t So Bad

A while back, I wrote an article about Pokemon sizes. In Pokemon GO, two new sizes were added to a Pokemon’s potential stats: XXS or XXL. Pokemon that are XXS and XXL are, as the name suggests, extra extra small and extra extra large. Originally, these new sizes were only visible on a handful of Pokemon, but ever since I wrote the previous article, now any Pokemon can be extra big or extra small. Has anything really changed though? Not really. The little banners are still there, as are the little popups saying whether a Pokemon is tiny or huge.… [Continue Reading]

One Meter Tall Artwork

Generally, both when I work and when I draw, my program of choice is Adobe Illustrator. Using it, I create high quality vector artwork that can be made in any size you like, within reason. This artwork can be anything from new logos to business cards to labeling and patches, making brochures and putting magazines together, to designing flags, signage for shops and decals for cars. I do a LOT of different things. Vector artwork is unique as it isn’t defined as a bunch of pixels, but instead is a bunch of points, lines and basic shapes, all combined together in… [Continue Reading]

Writers’ Block Strikes Again

It’s late in the evening, and here I am, sitting at my laptop, trying to think of something to write about. Something that can at least get me to 500 words so I can meet my daily quota. After all, I have to write 500 words a day as part of my new year’s resolution. But today, while staring at my laptop, nothing really springs to mind. Normally, when I write, I generally have a title in mind, as well as a few headers. A vague skeleton of text that I can then work around and fill in the details.… [Continue Reading]

Nowhere Left to Hide

Quick note: this article contains some sort of spoiler for Destiny 2 and its next major update. Read on if you are not afraid of spoilers. Destiny 2’s lore is often drawn out and somewhat hard to find. However, as the conclusion to the Witch Queen and season 19, things are a little too easy to find. Every major update gets an end of season cinematic, but Witch Queen is ending in a different way. A massive way. Something so powerful that even I, a complete noob and ultra casual player, had to watch it multiple times. After so long… [Continue Reading]

We’re Probably Not Alone

Youtube’s recommendations to me lately have been pretty scientific. I’ve been watching a lot about stars, planets and black holes on one end of the scale, and videos about quantum mechanics and subatomic particles on the other. Scattered in my recommendations though are the odd video about life outside our solar system. You know, aliens and stuff. Things that are mostly just speculation. Really, when you think about it, there are a lot of stars with a lot of planets orbiting them. Scientists have been finding a lot of Earth-like planets, although many have been a lot bigger than Earth.… [Continue Reading]

What is a better companion, a hundo or a shiny?

Lately, I’ve been having problems trying to decide what buddy I should have in Pokemon GO. I enjoy leveling up buddies and getting them to the best buddy level, but it can take a long time to do so. By my calculations, it tends to take 28-30 days to get one Pokemon to Best Buddy, and that’s in a semi casual way. There are definitely ways to speed up the process, but that requires more effort than I have available. Most of the time, I have to narrow things down and make a final decision on what Pokemon I will… [Continue Reading]
