More Rambling About Dawnguard

Sniper rolling his eyes inside the Soul Cairn in the Dawnguard quest line.

I recently picked up Skyrim again in the hopes that I’d be able to make a mod that actually summons a dragon of my own creation. When that all failed, I ended up looking through mods in the hopes that someone had made a dragon follower mod that actually worked. When I came up short, I decided just to use my summoned dragons mod that I made ages ago. But then I decided I wanted to summon Durnehviir, the undead dragon who lives in the Soul Cairn. That all meant playing Dawnguard again. On my Dragon character. Aside from the… [Continue Reading]

More on Warframe Armour Sets

Excalibur Umbra with Saturn Six Armour

I mentioned the other day how the Lodestar Armour Bundle looked really cool but annoyingly floated in mid air rather than being connected to your Warframe’s body, but frankly that article has gone and opened up a can of worms and 500 word rambles. The armour in Warframe is kinda weird and ill-fitting and quite often not armour at all. Let’s take the Avia armour set. Which amazingly has THREE variants: normal, prisma and solstice. But none of these pieces would provide actual armour, they’re just little shiny bits that hang off our arms and legs. There’s no protection to… [Continue Reading]

It’s Not Pay To Win, It’s Pay To Save Time

Kuva Fortress

An article on a different gaming website has brought up the question whether Warframe is Pay to Win or not, and frankly everyone is arguing over the nuance of the question, about what ways Warframe is or is not Pay to Win. First off though, we have to define Pay to Win. The phrase generally implies that you can spend money to get an advantage over your team mates, but there are variations of this. Can you buy things in Warframe that you can’t obtain by playing that affect gameplay and give you an advantage? Not really, no, all Warframes… [Continue Reading]

On Finishing Nightwave Season 2

Infested Operator skin, infested sword skin, infested Volt Tennogen skin

After a bunch of strangely easy tasks for week 6 of Nightwave, I have reached level 30 and obtained all the cool shit, which I immediately started using. Honestly though, this all went by so quickly. It doesn’t feel like week 6 of Nightwave and it doesn’t feel like Season 2 has been around that long! But yep, it’s been six weeks of genuinely quite simple tasks. Nightwave has been really good though. Most of the tasks have been pretty easy and definitely doable. Even the tougher tasks aren’t too bad. A 30 minute survival seems long but is easily… [Continue Reading]

The Mediocre Suicune Raid Event

"HOW MANY FUCKING SUICUNES ARE WE GOING TO GET?"

Suicune is a weird Pokemon. It’s worthwhile in the handheld Pokemon games but in Pokemon Go, Suicune is just a mediocre Pokemon and I’ve never been sure why. I think it’s because it’s a pure water type that doesn’t do very much damage at all and is tanky but can’t be used in gyms. In fact, a lot of people didn’t really want to come out to do the Suicune Raid event, and I spent most of the event doing it with tourists. Or sitting at home because I don’t have the money, time, effort or golden razzberries to catch… [Continue Reading]

A Strange Talk About My Favourite Pokemon

Medic surrounded by Houndooms and Houndours

I have a lot of Pokemon I really like and I have a lot of Pokemon that I have grown to really love over the years, but being the sort who kinda missed the original Pokemon games on hand-held consoles, I never really got into Pokemon properly until I started playing Pokemon Go. Sure, I kept up with the fact that new games were released but I never really… played them so, unlike aabicus and his beloved Rattata, I never really developed a connection to a Pokemon the same way he did. That being said, there’s something about Houndour and… [Continue Reading]

Excalibur, Volt, Mag – Which Starter Should You Pick?

Phovos the Excalibur in his blue and orange colour scheme.

You’ve finally downloaded that weird space ninja game everyone’s talking about. You’ve installed like 40GB’s worth of stuff. You’ve made an account and you’re finally getting into the game. Immediately, you’re forced to make a choice. Which starter character should you pick? There’s fancy sword guy, fancy electric guy and fancy magnetic girl. You have no idea what’s going on, you don’t know anything yet. This is a big decision that can impact your enjoyment of this game. What do you do? Heck, you might have already picked a character and might be wondering whether you’ve chosen wrong or something!… [Continue Reading]

A Couple of Thoughts About a New Saints Row Game

Saints Row 4

THQ Nordic the other day announced a bunch of rather cool things, like Timesplitters coming back with someone from the original development team, the people behind Homefront: The Revolution now working on the Dead Island series and stuff like that. But in my eyes, the coolest thing was that Volition confirmed that they are making a new Saints Row game. We have literally no information on this apart from the fact that a game is being made, but that’s fine because now I can make a bunch of wild speculations and ramble on about what I want in a new… [Continue Reading]

1000 Days Logging In And All I Got Was This Armour Set

My 1000th Daily Tribute in Warframe

I finally hit it. The 1000 login milestone. Actually, I hit it about two weeks ago but got distracted by a bunch of other things and never got around to writing about it. But either way, Maroo (it’s always her or Simaris, my two least favourite allies) popped by, said some random crap then left me with the Lodestar Armour Bundle. Really, you’d think, after 1000 days, I’d actually call login rewards by their proper term, Daily Tributes, but oh well, they’re daily login rewards, that’s what I remember them as. The Lodestar Armour Bundle is the last of the… [Continue Reading]

On New Gyms and Pokestops

New Gym Badge Earned!

Pokestops and are the lifeblood of Pokemon Go, probably more so than the Pokemon that spawn at random around them. After all, if you don’t have Pokestops, you can’t get Pokeballs to catch Pokemon with, and gyms are both a way to earn coins and do raids. But while Niantic has been very slowly rolling out a way for level 40 Pokemon Go accounts to submit suggestions for Pokestops, what actually determines what is or isn’t a Pokestop is up to Niantic and people who play Ingress. Ingress is Niantic’s other flagship game, alongside that strange Harry Potter game they… [Continue Reading]
