Does Anyone Actually Like Needing 400 Candy To Evolve A Pokemon?

A Noivern surrounded by Kanto starters. Because this event is more Kanto-based than Kalos based. Despite being a Kalos event.

There are a few Pokemon in the Pokemon universe that start off as small and weak, then evolve into something amazing. Magikarp is probably the most famous for this*. It’s a weak fish that only knows Tackle and Splash, and if you have the patience, you can evolve it into a massive sea not-a-dragon. Normally, in the main Pokemon games, you need to level the Pokemon despite it having awful moves. But the grind is worth it because you get a cool new badass Pokemon. In Pokemon GO however, you can evolve these Pokemon without having them in battle. It… [Continue Reading]

So Many 3* Pokemon

Rhyhorn Shiny Family

This Pokemon season is called the Season of GO. Yes, it’s a stupid name, but June – August are generally when Pokemon GO has its biggest events. But a new season also brings with it some new Pokemon, and a slight change in one’s local spawns. The changes aren’t amazing, however it does mean I get to see Rhyhorn again. Rhyhorn is one of my favourites, and it’s good to see it back. What does Rhyhorn have to do with anything? Because its final evolution, Rhyperior, is an insanely useful Pokemon. It does well in both raids and the GBL… [Continue Reading]

Ultra Research Day and a Lack of Pokestops

Shiny Shieldon

Last week, at the time of writing, was Adventure Week. Adventure Week tends to focus on fossil and rock type Pokemon, and, this year, Archen and Tirtouga were released with shiny forms. We also got two new Pokemon: Tyrunt and Amaura. However, at the end of Adventure Week, we got a Ultra Research Day. In this event, we focused on two older fossil types: Shieldon and Cranidos. Now, Cranidos is actually one of my highly liked Pokemon. It’s very obviously a cool dinosaur with a rock-hard head. Cranidos also has a great shiny, turning red instead of blue. And throughout… [Continue Reading]

Eternalism is a bit of a cop-out

The Plains of Eidolon in stormy weather

Eternalism is the idea that every choice we make creates new realities, one where you make one choice and one where you make another choice. Both choices now exist in two different realities and carry on as new, separate timelines. For example, during the New War, we are showed a cut scene of our space kid in a classroom, trying to keep everyone calm until we meet the Man in the Wall. This entity makes you an offer: take the Man in the Wall’s power and save yourselves; or remain where you are, refusing the demon’s assistance. In this moment,… [Continue Reading]

On Skipping GOFest

Spirits of the Lake being eaten by various bird-like Pokemon.

GOFest is Pokemon GO’s biggest event of the year. It’s full of activities and new things. And for the last two years, GOFest has been available to everyone. Well, not completely. It’s a ticketed event, and buying a pass for GOFest unlocks new features. In 2021, I bought a ticket and had a great time. This year though, I just can’t be bothered. Why? Because there is too much to do. Frankly, I am a tad tired of these events. Sure, GOFest is the biggest event of the year, but it’s also an event you need to really focus on.… [Continue Reading]

5 More Best Pokemon To Beat Team Rocket Grunts

Pokemon GO’s Team Rocket are still around and they are stronger than ever. The last time I saw them, I beat the crap out of them, and was rewarded with the worst Apex Lugia and Apex Ho-Oh possible. We’ve actually gone over good Pokemon for Grunt battles before, but there are always options, especially as Team Rocket change up their loadouts semi-regularly. Today, we’re going to go through 5 more Pokemon that do great against Team Rocket. Heatran Most people don’t like Heatran, and for good reason. It’s kinda ugly, badly shaped and appears in 5* raids way, way too… [Continue Reading]

#SaveTF2, A Tweet and a Bucket of Salt

I HAVE NO IDEA!

On May 26th 2022, the Team Fortress 2 community came together and peacefully protested about how the developers at Valve had basically abandoned Team Fortress 2. After all, vanilla Team Fortress 2 servers have been flooded with bots and cheaters, while community servers are having an arms race between hackers and script-writers, constantly trying to stop the flood of cheating from taking over. On top of that, Team Fortress 2 hasn’t had a proper update in a long, long time, and the only new content is crates and keys, little else. A protest All of this actually followed a mini… [Continue Reading]

The New PvP Game Mode – Rift

Destiny 2 6v6 gameplay pvp

I don’t normally play PvP stuff. But Destiny 2 has the habit of putting random PvP stuff into quests. The Rat King exotic quest required players to all use the same pistol, for example. And on the second week of this new season, Lord Saladin is back (already) with objective-based gameplay for us to all fight over. However, due to paying for someone else’s fuck up, Saladin now basically works for Empress Caiatl on her War Council. And while he’s there, he’s picked up a new 6v6 game mode for us: Rift. Capture the Flag with a twist Rift is… [Continue Reading]

Fantastic PvP Adventures in Sea of Thieves

Within the fog of the Sea of Thieves

I’m not normally the sort to play against other players. Actually, outside of PvE content, I’m often a bit of a pacifist. If there is PvP content, I tend to avoid it. But in Sea of Thieves, it’s PvP time all the time, you can’t turn it off, and anything can happen. And thanks to the Stormcloud, one of the deadliest ships in the sea, I’ve grown to become more bloodthirsty myself. After all, we are pirates, and being bloodthirsty is the norm, as well as stealing as much loot as we can. Today’s adventure with the Stormcloud however was… [Continue Reading]

Let Me Put Shaders On Everything in Destiny 2

A cool shader in Destiny 2. I have no idea where the gold comes from

Destiny 2’s cosmetic system is pretty alright. It’s slowly improved over the years, but with transmogifying armour pieces, we can really make cool looks for ourselves. And we finally don’t have to turn legendary shards into individual colour shaders now. The original implementation of cosmetics in Destiny 2 were insane. These days though, even F2Players can at the very least make themselves look alright. However, like all cosmetics, we can go further and deeper. The technology is there, we just need to believe.   Shaders for everything Admittedly, there isn’t much left in Destiny 2 that you can use a… [Continue Reading]
