The Civil War of Skyrim

The Civil War in Skyrim, between the Empire and the Stormcloaks, is one of those rather split stories. Players tend to go one way or the other and stick to their beliefs. It’s really not a clear cut thing like killing or sparing Paarthurnax. Really, the Civil War is a hugely complex issue and one single article can’t really do it justice, but I’ll try. First off, some specifics. Whatever side you pick in the Civil War, nothing really changes apart from the guards and the Jarls, and a handful of more extreme supporters on either side. Whiterun never gets… [Continue Reading]

My Favorite Healing Weapons

Ever since my very first life in Team Fortress Classic,  I’ve been a support main who instantly gravitates to the healing class in any multiplayer shooter. Most games come with one or more options for wannabe battlefield medics, and healing weapons are often some of the most visually- and mechanically-interesting firearms in the roster. So, after years of getting my hands on everything from syringes to potions to defibrillators to whack or shoot my teammates with, I wanted to take an article to discuss the ones that came to mind when I think about healing weapons that for whatever reason left a… [Continue Reading]

Overrated

Okay, seriously, it’s not a bad game. But I don’t like it and (again) that title was too damn good to pass up. Think of this as an extension to Medic’s article except written by someone far less competent. I wanted to like Overwatch, really, I did. (Lower your damn pitchforks!) I tried the beta, which for some reason would cause my router to crash and freeze every time I launched it, forcing me to play it offline. Even when it was in a playable state in the free trial after the full game came out, I tried to ignore my… [Continue Reading]

Not The War Within

As people can tell from my recent posts on SPUF and via text chats, I’m in a bad mood. I’ve been ill all week, and, in a hope of cheering myself up, I thought I’d spend Friday patiently waiting for the War Within to come out and dive straight into a new quest line, while making a SPUF of Legend video of my gameplay. Well, none of that worked. Most of it really is my fault. I stayed up until 1am on Saturday. The update hit not long after I fell asleep. I got up at nine in the morning… [Continue Reading]

My Continued Obsession with Volt

I’m still obsessed with this one character. It’s no longer a growing obsession. Volt, one of three starter characters in the game Warframe. The ‘mage-like’ character who provides a more caster-based play style than Excalibur or Mag. The electric one. The derpy looking thing with weird crotch armour and weird, square knees. I’ve been using this guy from the start, and he makes up a good 40% of my play time, the other 60% being split between Volt Prime and my slowly growing collection of other frames – Frost, Ember, Trinity and Valkyr. Frost has some obvious uses, but the… [Continue Reading]

Continuity – A Mod Journey

One of Warframe’s standard, almost required, mods is Continuity. Continuity increases the duration of your abilities – most of them anyway. It’s not required on everyone, but it’s a damn useful mod to have. There are alternate mods that also increase duration, but Continuity is the only mod that only increases duration, or not at the cost of anything else. It turns out, it’s also a really fucking hard mod to get. Annoyingly though, I’ve had a Continuity from the very beginning. When I was doing the tutorial missions, one of the very first mods I received was a damaged… [Continue Reading]

The Troubles In Making A Dragon Follower Mod

Let’s face it, I’m not very good at making mods. They’re hard. Even though Skyrim has tools to make mods, it’s still hard. Most of the mods I’ve made haven’t worked that well. Electric Breath has a weird bug that makes Fire Breath silent which I never worked out how to fix. The houses I’ve made, one of them doesn’t have proper LODs and another has a weird hole in a mountain but it’s small and fixable. A third, more temple-like structure remains unfinished. My dragon summoning mods all work but the AI packages bug out occasionally. Most of this… [Continue Reading]

Eat at Panda Express Today and Get a Chork!

Today is General Tso’s birthday, and to honor that fact Panda Express is giving away a free chork with every purchase! While chopstick-forks have appeared in culinary history before today, Panda will be the first chain to introduce them to the mainstream audience, and their marketing tools insist they ‘invented’ it so presumably they’re using something of a new model. In a statement to First We Feast, Panda explained their rationale for the new silverware: “Chorks were introduced to the public during the launch of the dish yesterday. The tool is a perfect way to illustrate the mashup of American and… [Continue Reading]

Cops & Zombies & Zeds

(Fun fact: The description for this episode reads: ‘In this video I become the first person ever to compare Killing Floor 2 to Dungeons & Dragons’. Then the WWAUT goes live the next day and starts with: Last time around, we talked about the high level concept of what the Survivalist is: a high skill cap, jack-of-all-trades-but-master-of-none (or the bard for those of you who play those sorts of games… with “magic” and “dragons.” Guess the comparison was more mainstream than I thought!)  I was talking with someone on reddit and they wanted to know how Steam’s three biggest horde-based shooter franchises differed from each… [Continue Reading]

Congratulations America for being retarded!

Congratulations, America. You’ve gone full Brexit on us. And I’m laughing at you. Hehe. Every country, every expert, every sane person you had told you otherwise but you didn’t listen. With Republicans controlling pretty much all of your government now, you can enjoy seeing them repeal everything Obama did, mostly out of spite. Oh and you’ll probably see a recession as well because that’s when most recessions occur – during Republican control. Let’s hope you don’t end up going backwards rather than forwards. Well, I say you, I mean the population who voted for the guy who can’t even handle… [Continue Reading]
