What Am I? An Orokin Family Therapist?

Alright, heads up. This is going to be a VERY spoiler-heavy article. I’m going to be discussing the Entrati family. Or rather, what’s left of it. Just like the rest of Deimos, the Entrati family is pretty messed up. But UNLIKE the entirety of the small Martian moon, the Entrati are messed up in their own, unique ways. And it’s not just because of the Infested. Before we begin, there are spoilers ahead! I’m warning you now, because this article contains commentary about the dialogues as you rank up with the Entrati. Just like how Fortuna has its revealing thing… [Continue Reading]

Is A Warframe Alive and Conscious?

With the Heart of Deimos update, we’ll be getting a new Helminth and a new infested room on our ship. Inside that room, we’ll be able to do some horrible things, like feeding a massive mouth on the wall and injecting our Warframes with new powers. We’ll also be able to murder Warframes. More precisely, we can feed them to the Helminth. And doing so will give us a Warframe ability we can put onto other Warframes. So yeah. We’re killing Warframes. But is this morally correct? Okay, that’s a bit of an unfair question. Warframe is dripping with immorality.… [Continue Reading]

Risk of Rain’s Lore Is Weirdly Terrifying

You wouldn’t think that the Risk of Rain series had any sort of lore, but it does. And all of it is kinda… weird and abstract and not really well-understood. While I never really played Risk of Rain 1 (which is too hard for me), I have been playing a lot of Risk of Rain 2. Right now, a lot of the “story” aspects are missing. There’s a handful of levels but you normally loop around and around. Until you are killed by the planet, obliterate yourself or fade to black after fighting a special Scavenger. The actual lore though?… [Continue Reading]

Who The Fuck IS Nora Night?

There are tons of mysterious entities in Warframe. From Erra, the Sentient brother of the Lotus, to Onkko and the Quills, all the way to Paladino, Ergo Glast and the Syndicate leaders, we have a lot of crazies. All these strange people who easily communicate with us. Some of these beings only appear once in quests. Or they appear in snapshots and visions, like Erra and the Man in the Wall. But there’s one person who came out from absolutely nowhere. I know we’ve talked about Nightwave a lot lately, but we need to have a look at Nora Night.… [Continue Reading]

What the Fuck is up with Warframe’s Lore? Too Many Puppets!

Ugh, everyone in Warframe is a damn puppet. Almost literally everyone. Warframe’s lore is incredibly all over the place. However you look at it, it’s easy to miss some details. Most of the lore in Warframe is buried away, or hidden in little crevices. But no matter what, even if you are completely lost, you can assume that someone is a puppet to someone else. You are a puppet as soon as the game starts. In the very introduction to Warframe, the first thing you experience is Captain Vor sticking a device on you so he can control you. He… [Continue Reading]

What is Warframe’s Lore? A Very Simplified Version of Warframe’s Lore in 500 Words

Warframe’s lore has always been a complete clusterfuck. There’s no other way to describe it. The events throughout Warframe are nothing but confusion and madness, with a lot of puppeteering. In the past, I’ve made very long posts about Warframe’s lore. But today, we’re going to really simplify everything. Because, frankly, if you can’t narrow it down to 500 words, why bother? Big Mean Orokin Empire Originally, there was the Orokin empire. It covered the whole solar system. The Orokin rulers considered themselves perfect and covered everything in gold. Everyone beneath them was a tool to be used. There was… [Continue Reading]

Glassmaker’s Mystery Interactive Cinematic Is Kinda Weird

In previous Nightwaves, Nora Night simply had a story to tell. One that somewhat unfolded in a linear way. Although the cinematics were nice, they were pretty damn basic. Even a kid could probably work out that the Wolf didn’t like Alad V or that the Infested would attack. The Glassmaker’s story however is supposed to be a murder mystery, one that the Tenno have to uncover. With Nora voicing over it, of course. We have to do the work. Nora Night has given us a crime scene to investigate. A digital one, pulled out from the Weave, which is… [Continue Reading]

The Sentients are Bastards

The Sentients are bastards. There, I said it. While maybe insulting the next biggest threat is probably a bad idea, I want to point out that the Sentients are bastards and they could have stopped all of this. There never had to be a new war. Or, really, an old war. But here we are, fighting Sentients. But what ARE Sentients? The Sentients are an AI race created by Orokin engineers, who were designed to go to the “Tau system to prepare it for Orokin rule”. They were given the ability to adapt, build and terraform and were sent to… [Continue Reading]

What The Fuck is Warframe’s Lore Anyway? – New War Lore

Last time I sat down and chatted about Warframe lore, we stopped at the end of the Sacrifice quest. That was… a while ago. But rather than go through all that old lore again, I’ve decided to just skip ahead and start talking about the lore for the New War, which is supposedly the next big thing. So sit down and strap yourselves in because we’ve got quite a bit of stuff to talk about. A warning before I start: This article CONTAINS SPOILERS. It is discussing a huge amount of newer lore, which newer players might not be able… [Continue Reading]

Thoughts on More Umbral Warframes

Excalibur Umbra is a unique Warframe, a variant of normal Excalibur, that players wanted for years. We finally got access to Excalibur Umbra, often just called Umbra for short, in the Sacrifice, a quest that looked at Ballas’s betrayal of the Orokin and gave us some more defined answers as to how the Warframes were built. But Umbra shows something that all other Warframes lack in large amounts – sentience. The creation of most Warframes was tricky at first. These were people infested with a particular strain of Infestation that turned their skin into steel and transformed them into, well,… [Continue Reading]
