Noibat Community Day

One of my favorite Pokemon is Noivern. So when I heard that we were getting a Noibat Community Day, I was very happy. This was a chance for me to get a hold of plenty of Noibats and hopefully be able to evolve a good Noivern. Things didn’t quite go as planned. The weather was quite threatening, and due to a mix-up I didn’t charge up my battery pack. So it was basically a race against the clock to see how many Noibats I could catch. What’s nice though was the triple stardust and double catch candy. Despite being a… [Continue Reading]

My First Level 50 Pokemon

Getting XL Candy can be tedious. Normally, there are only a handful of ways to get XL Candy. Walking a buddy will net you one XL for every small distance, and takes forever, earning one XL Candy at a time. The best way is to simply catch Pokemon, but that is also random. You may get 5 XL Candy in some cases, but most of the time, you get one XL Candy per catch if you’re lucky. However, aside from doing Legendary raids for Legendary Pokemon, getting XL Candy consistently is hard. Because of this, there are only a few… [Continue Reading]

My Favourite Costumed Pokemon

While costumes on Pokemon can often be seen as a cheap way to better an event, there’s actually quite a lot of them that I like. Sure, these costume Pokemon waste precious space in my inventory, but I can’t help but like them. Here are my favourite costume Pokemon: Party hat Gengar I like Pokemon in party hats. After all, my Medic in TF2 always wears a party hat, and I like to carry that over into Pokemon GO. However, there are multiple Pokemon with party hats, but I can’t like all of them. After all, not all of them… [Continue Reading]

More Pokemon You Should Definitely Give Second Moves To

A while back, I discussed giving second moves to Pokemon. Doing so is pretty expensive in a lot of cases, so it’s always worth considering how much stardust you have and what will actually be useful. While you could just put double moves on any Pokemon, sometimes the stardust and candy costs are too much for not very little. Here are some more Pokemon that do well with a second move. And be sure to check our previous article about other Pokemon with second move potential. Metagross This first entry is mainly for PvP. Metagross is a monster in PvE… [Continue Reading]

Primal Reversion Is Nearly Here!

After so long, it seems like we’re finally getting Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon. It’s been quite a few years since Groudon and Kyogre came out in Pokemon GO, and we’ve all been waiting for their primal forms since they came out. Primal Reversion is a massive power boost, and, in the main series games, requires the two Legendary Pokemon to hold a special item each. So how are they going to work in Pokemon GO? They work pretty much the same way Mega Pokemon do Starting in the Hoenn Tour event in February, we can finally mega evolve Groudon… [Continue Reading]

Larvitar Community Day Classic

The Larvitar family is a pretty interesting one. Alongside the Beldum family, these Pokemon are the only pseudo-Legendary Pokemon that aren’t dragon types for a change. They’re also definitely great Pokemon overall, and they have Mega Evolutions too. So it’s worth grabbing Larvitars whenever you can. Finally, a chance to get some Larvitar shinies For me, I’ve actually only managed to catch 3 shiny Larvitars in the past. Despite catching a LOT of Larvitars, the shinies not so much ellude me but beg to have a few more in my collection. This event allowed me to get a shiny Tyranitar… [Continue Reading]

Pokemon That Would Be Awesome If They Had Better Moves

Not all Pokemon are equal. And not all Pokemon get added to Pokemon GO. But sometimes Pokemon are added and they turn out to be completely useless. Normally, this applies to ‘early game’ Pokemon like Pidgey or Weedle, but it turns out that even legendary Pokemon can be completely screwed over, just because they don’t have a good selection of moves to choose from. Here are five unlucky Pokemon that are really missing out. Xerneas Xerneas is one of my favourite legendary Pokemon, but it’s in a terrible state currently. As I mentioned in this article, Xerneas is stuck with… [Continue Reading]

Pokemon That Are Useless But I Don’t Have the Heart to Transfer them

Really, Pokemon GO is a pretty grim game. The majority of Pokemon you collect, they are chucked away and transferred, because they’re not very useful. Only the cream of the crop are allowed to stick around, and eventually even some of the better Pokemon get transferred away, to make space for Pokemon that are slightly better. Otherwise, in the end, you run out of backpack space. So space had to be made and Pokemon have to be sacrificed. Despite all this, I am a bit of a hoarder of Pokemon. I have so many that I’ve meant to transfer and… [Continue Reading]

A Nice Walk in the Dark

I consider myself a fortunate person. I live in a country where going out at night is mostly safe. The most likely thing to get you is a car that doesn’t stop at red lights. And because it’s so calm, I can also go out and play some Pokemon GO as well. It’s very pleasant. However, currently, it’s cold, and it gets dark quite early. We are in the middle of winter, after all. But the darkness can be a little depressing. This is where Pokemon GO comes into play, chewing away at my more negative feelings. It’s nice, just… [Continue Reading]

Chespin Commuinity Day

The new year has been pretty good so far in Pokemon GO. We had a nice new year’s event, and, at the time of writing, an event with fairies and dragons coming up. We’re also starting the year with a more familiar face, a starter Pokemon. After a long delay, we seem to be back on course when it comes to Community Days. And January’s Community Day is for Chespin, the spiky nut Pokemon, and the grass starter for the Kalos region. It’s been a while since we last saw a community day starter, and Chespin is nice and refreshing.… [Continue Reading]
