A New Username

Over the last few years, I’ve shifted away from the name Medic, instead taking on the name Retvik. My original online alias was Phovos, which isn’t always available since it’s an intentional misspelling of the word Phobos, the Greek word for ‘Fear’. The name Retvik on the other hand has always been pretty available in a lot of places, since it’s not really a name. In fact, the name Retvik comes from one of the protagonists from my fictional writing. But the thing is, I was never 100% sold on the name Retvik. I took it because my preferred names… [Continue Reading]

Okay Maybe The Zariman Isn’t So Bad After All…

For ages, I’ve been putting off the weird area and syndicate known as the Zariman. I should have really wanted to jump into this place, since it’s where a scared child made the deal with the Man in the Wall and the Tenno were born. The ship got stuck in the Void, the weird space between spaces, but has suddenly reappeared at the end of the New War, plugging a gap between our universe and the Void itself. It seems that the evil within the Void wants to escape, and the Zariman is the only thing stopping it from doing… [Continue Reading]

Operation Gargoyle’s Cry is Simple But Great

Clan events aren’t particularly common, but Whispers in the Walls has introduced Operation Gargoyle’s Cry, a new event where there is some clan participation required. Fibonacci has had the great idea of using clan dojos to set up a surveillance system across local space, in order to better track the Murmur. However, some miscalculations mean that the Murmur are also getting some sort of vision, and Fibonacci needs us to murder some Fragmented Ones in order to re-calibrate his magical Jahu Gargoyles, the devices he’s placed in our dojos in the first place. The basis of the operation is simple.… [Continue Reading]

The Murmur are Cool But We Even Need More of Them

The Murmur are a new enemy faction in Warframe, that came out in Whispers in the Walls. They mostly consist of two things: ghostly limbs and cracked limestone pieces. They can currently only be found on the Entrati Labs/Great Indifference tile set on the five new nodes on Deimos, located underneath the infested landscape and Orokin derelicts above. Funnily enough,  Deimos has three distinct tile sets now, rivaling Earth. The Murmur are a weird faction. They mostly attack via melee swings or laser attacks, very little else. Most of the time, you see either the grabbing arms or the weird… [Continue Reading]

Whispers in the Walls – A New Quest

This December, Warframe experienced its last big update of 2023, with Whispers in the Walls. Teased at Tennocon 2023, Whispers in the Walls brought with it melee weapon arcanes, a new syndicate and a bounty system similar to the Zariman, a new Warframe and, the icing on the cake, a new quest, a thrust forward into Warframe’s new story, after the New War. This article contains spoilers. Do not read. Go and play the quest first. It has level 40 enemies, and I recommend taking an Excalibur for… immersive reasons. Also, take a Helios with you. Have fun! Whispers in… [Continue Reading]

The Abyssal Zone is not Scary

Abyss of Dagath has been a massive update, and there’s plenty of stuff I want to write about. And I will be writing a lot about the update in the next few days. But there’s one thing bothering me. There is a new material required in order to build the new Warframe, Dagath, but th mission required to obtain it is kinda weird. It’s called the Abyssal Zone and I want to talk about it. So, basically, the Abyssal Zone is an Exterminate with Orokin Vault-like debuffs. The mission starts off as an ordinary Exterminate mission in a slightly darkened… [Continue Reading]

I Don’t Know How To Mod Any More

In my absence from playing Warframe regularly, something has happened. It seems that my weapons are weaker than they used to be. Or, rather, they don’t go as far as they used to. Over the years, enemy balance hasn’t changed that much, but there is more and more content that starts at higher levels and there are more enemies that can ignore you. Eximus in particular are immune to most forms of crowd control, and are harder to bring down. As for me though, I haven’t really reacted to these changes, and am still using the same old gear. Now,… [Continue Reading]

On Using Low Forma Warframe Builds

I don’t like using Forma on my Warframes. Having done so much leveling stuff up over the years, I generally dislike the idea of having to level something again. I’m Legendary Rank 2 and have done my fair share of leveling things up, and using Forma means exactly that, more leveling. I also dislike having things that are not leveled up, they look messy in my arsenal, and the only weapons I allow to be under-leveled are Kuva and Tenet weapons, which require five Forma EACH. While I don’t mind leveling weapons that much, I really dislike leveling Warframes for… [Continue Reading]

My Favourite Picks from the Warframe Soundtrack

I love Warframe’s soundtrack. It’s always been a standout part of Warframe as a whole, and the music really gives the game an edge. But there are certain tracks that I feel go above and beyond. Songs that get stuck in my head all the time. Here are some of my favourites. Sleeping in the Cold Below I actually kinda missed this song in Call of the Tempestarii. When it came out, I thought Sleeping in the Cold Below was awesome, and I did write an article about it. However, when I played the Call of the Tempestarii quest, I… [Continue Reading]

The Lotus – A Mistake Was Made

It’s been a while since I played The New War. I kinda rushed through the quest because I didn’t really playing as Drifter. I was also rather annoyed at how little war was actually in The New War. Sure, we had things like Scarlet Spear, Chimera Prologue, Apostasy and the Murexes leading up to The New War, but these events were far too spread out to have any meaningful impact on the New War itself. But while I played and eventually finished The New War, I realized that I had made a massive mistake. Before I continue, if you haven’t… [Continue Reading]
