The Weirdness of Vox Solaris

A lot of things in Fortuna and the Orb Vallis are very similar to things in Cetus and the Plains of Eidolon. Really, the biggest differences are that Fortuna has its own skateboarding syndicate and that there isn’t a boss that wanders around – you have to go into a specific instance to fight the Orb Vallis bosses. When it comes to Syndicates, Vox Solaris is pretty damn similar to the Quills, but it feels out of place. Quill Onkko’s little base is very hidden away, somewhat off the beaten track. It’s not even accessible until you’ve finished the War… [Continue Reading]

Making Operators Good

I’ve never really liked the whole Operator thing in Warframe. I mean, your Operator has his or her uses, but they don’t have the best personalities and take away from the mystery of the whole Warframe thing, what with them being basically edgy kids from a familiar anime. But that being said, with some effort, you can make them into pretty useful weapons, just like your Warframes. And maybe some cosmetics. Actually, definitely some cosmetics. Because I’ll be honest, most humans in Warframe are pretty fucking ugly and the Operators are no exception. It takes extreme dedication and tedious amounts… [Continue Reading]

The Beauty of Captura

Considering how much I play Warframe, it seems weird how Captura is actually one of my favourite things about Warframe. Captura is basically a photo studio where you can take fancy pictures of your Warframes, introduced in Update 20 alongside Octavia and the quest Octavia’s Anthem. These photo sessions are done in specific Captura Scenes, which can be unlocked in a myriad of ways. Originally though, there were only a handful. A Corpus scene, a Grineer scene and an Infested scene in a Corpus ship, as well as some basic scenes available from Syndicates. Slowly but surely, more and more… [Continue Reading]

A Long List of Little Things I Want In Warframe

Ages ago, I had an idea for a series of articles about things I wanted. I sat on the idea for ages though because I honestly didn’t really know how to do it. The original article was going to be about Elder Scrolls 6, with me loudly arguing about wanting the game to happen in Elswyr or Black Marsh, simply because Bethesda have already pulled off incredibly cool, alien landscapes in previous games. Then it all fell apart when TES6 was teased at E3 because clearly it wasn’t going to be set in either place. At the same time, I… [Continue Reading]

Worst. Stalker. Ever.

Have you seen Stalker recently? If you’ve been doing the Complete 3 Assassinations task from Nightwave lately, then the answer is probably yes. But even if you haven’t, the Stalker appearing out of nowhere and attacking is a pretty regular thing. Stalker always says that he’ll kill us, make us pay for what he did, but after a while, he’s just… not a threat any more. Originally though, Stalker was terrifying. Stalker was an enemy on our level, capable of using Warframe abilities and more than one weapon. His Despair Kunai were thrown with deadly slicing accuracy, his Hate scythe… [Continue Reading]

On Being Done with Nightwave Already

Wow. It’s only been seven weeks and I’ve just hit level 30 on Nightwave… Wait, it’s been seven weeks? Seven weeks of weekly and daily random tasks that have nothing to do with a bunch of escaped prisoners? Wow. Right off the bat, I don’t know if that’s a long time or not long at all. Nightwave has felt like it has dragged on forever, but it also feels somewhat short. I think a lot of this is because Nightwave resets on a Sunday evening (or about 2am on Monday for me) and I generally manage to get most of… [Continue Reading]

Space Mum’s Future

Yesterday, I wrote about the Lotus, the being most Warframe players lovingly call Space Mum. I mentioned the three recent quests that all put the Lotus in a very dark, very scary place, casting a massive shadow of doubt on who she is, what she wants and whether she is acting under her own free will. But I never really considered any of the potential futures for the Lotus. The Warframe universe is a very strange place and all sorts of randomness could happen – after all, not everyone expected that Warframes are controlled by ageless children but are also… [Continue Reading]

What About Space Mum?

On December 21st 2017, Space Mum disappeared. A hidden quest, Apostasy Prologue, led us to a shiny orb in our brand new Personal Quarters. This orb took us to Lua and to the Reservoir where we found out who we really were. But then we were taken further, deep underground, into the lair of the Lotus herself. We expected a warm greeting but were instead left with confusion and anger as we heard Margulis’s last words and watched as Ballas took the Lotus away. We returned to our ships, cradling the helmet of the one we perceived to be our… [Continue Reading]

The Problem With Primes

The other day, while doing fissures, I got lucky, and thanks to someone else’s relic, I managed to get the last part of Equinox Prime, her main blueprint. As I rushed back to my ship though, I realised something strange. I managed to get Equinox Prime really, really easily. Like, really easily. All I did were some basic Capture, Exterminate and Survival missions to get these Equinox Prime parts. None of those missions were particularly hard. The average Warframe player would have been able to do them, even the 30 minute survival we did. The relics used were obtained by… [Continue Reading]

Even More Tips for Warframe Sorties

Sometimes I forget how much of a struggle Sorties can be if you’re a newer player. I forgot how much of a struggle they were for me, and I didn’t really feel that struggle go away until I hit MR16. At that point, I’d forma’d all my favourite gear and I had a nice, reliable arsenal of weapons to choose from. But before then, sorties feel like nothingĀ  but bullet sponges while you die with ease. So, following on from my other articles, here are yet more tips for Warframe sorties. Get Tanky Enemies in sorties tend to do more… [Continue Reading]
