The Sacrifice – Um… That was… Uh…

So I played the Sacrifice. It wasn’t very long. I think I finished it in about 45 minutes? Not long at all. At the end of it I was all rather… uh… I don’t know. I wasn’t sure how to feel. I think deflated but not surprised is the best description. I expected more. I really did. Before we start, don’t worry, this is mostly spoiler free. I won’t go into details about what happened or anything like that. Normally me and fellow clan members can’t agree on much. But we all seemed to agree on the same thing –… [Continue Reading]

The Sacrifice is Here..

“I HAVE MADE SACRIFICES, TENNO!” Vay Hek shouts at you whenever you visit Oro on Earth, in the Vay Hek Assassination mission. “ARE YOU READY FOR A SACRIFICE?” That line has basically echoed through the Warframe community ever since the Sacrifice was teased last Tennocon. The next Tennocon starts in July, they promised the Sacrifice would be out by then and now it’s out. Update 23 is here, downloading as I speak. A whole 2GB worth of stuff. Somewhat close in size to the Plains of Eidolon, even though it’s apparently just a quest and a bunch of cosmetics and… [Continue Reading]

The Learning Process to Killing a Teralyst Solo

On Friday 18th May 2018 at around 11pm, I managed to kill a Teralyst on my own with no squad mates. I’d attempted this a few times, only to be met with failure, or find I don’t have the right equipment. A much more experienced player might find it amusing how overly proud I was with my single Eidolon kill and might find it disheartening that I didn’t even attempt to try killing the other two Eidolons, but this is a boss fight made for four people, involving end-game gear and things like that – you basically have to do… [Continue Reading]

Wanted: Endo and Energy for New Tenno

The early parts of Warframe are weird. Everything is either too hard or weirdly easy, and difficulty jumps are all over the place. One minute you’re fine, slowly going around shooting the helmets off Corpus grunts, capturing targets who like to teleport and very, very slowly doing Spy vaults, the next you’re being overrun by hordes of Grineer and watching helplessly as they kill your Taxon and destroy that Cryopod you had to protect. Most of the time though, you’ll be fine, apart from the fact that everything is slowly getting harder and you’re not quite sure why. Okay, the… [Continue Reading]

The All-Rounders Volt Build, by an Everyday Volt Main

Volt makes up 50% of my total playtime in Warframe. I know him mostly inside out, from his weird two pairs of eyes to his little butt-cape. I regularly take Volt into lots of things and somehow manage to stay alive even when everyone else around me is dying. I honestly think it’s time to go through my build and how I manage to take him everywhere, from Kuva Fortress Assault to Sortie Defense, and not be totally useless. In hindsight, this might be because I am simply so used to playing Volt that I know his strengths and weaknesses.… [Continue Reading]

On Building and IKEAframe

IKEAframe is the joke name given to creating things inside your ship or in clan dojos in Warframe. For a game built around creepy bio-mechanical space ninjas roaming the solar system killing armies of evil clones and profit-driven madmen, there’s actually a lot of effort that has been put into making your own custom spaces. It wasn’t until this year though that we got better decorating tools. It used to be that you could only place things while in your Warframe, being unable to move the camera any way your Warframe couldn’t. This meant that building things on top of… [Continue Reading]

The Pointlessness of Peculiar Mods

The Beasts of the Sanctuary update brought with it a new type of mod, the Peculiar Mod. The idea was that Peculiar Mods were high cost mods that did literally nothing for your power but applied cosmetic effects. There is currently only two Peculiar Mods available, Peculiar Bloom, which spawns flowers on enemies when they are hit by critical hits, and the brand new Peculiar Growth which inflates limbs on hit, just like the already-existing secondary the Nukor. They are a rare reward in Rotation C of Elite Sanctuary Onslaught, meaning you need to complete Zone 8. The premise was… [Continue Reading]

A Walk Around Cetus

After a long night of trying to obtain the mod Augur Secrets, which gives +24% power strength and is worth about 100 platinum, I wandered around Cetus chatting with a nice Atlas who I’d gone doing bounties with. We chatted about all sorts of things, starting with our bad luck when it came to running bounties and getting rare items, going onto things like Zaws and weapons we like. We were mostly idling, him idling outside the massive Orokin gate to the Plains, me idling on top of one of the houses like one does. Then we met up and… [Continue Reading]

Critical Chance VS Status Chance

Enemies in Warframe scale to an incredibly high level, up to level 9999 (except for Eximus enemies), but weapons and Warframes are limited by the mods you shove in them. So this means you need to find more ways to do damage to enemies, as their health and more importantly their armour scale to insane numbers. So we have two options. Critical damage and Elemental or Status damage. Critical damage is simple. Every weapon has a critical chance and a critical damage multiplier, which defines how much damage you do when you get a random crit or when you score… [Continue Reading]

On Buying Warframes with Platinum

The other day, I checked my Warframe profile and was amazed to see that Ivara has sneaked her way into being my third most played Warframe, after Volt and Volt Prime. Wasn’t really that much of a surprise because Ivara is insanely useful in Spy missions, but she also comes in very handy for a large number of smaller tasks, such as quick alert missions, looking for and scanning enemies with her larger Enemy Sense, completing Riven mods and general roaming the plains. In fact, after Volt, Ivara is a really good Warframe on the Plains of Eidolon, as she… [Continue Reading]
