Why Volt is one of the Best Warframes…

… Well, in my opinion of course. It seems that a lot of people see Volt as a bad frame in desperate need of a rework. I don’t think that’s needed. Just because one frame doesn’t have its own niche or isn’t the best ever at a specific thing, doesn’t mean that they’re bad. Probably just in need of some tweaks, like reverting the halved duration on Discharge. He’s Versatile Sure, Volt’s not the strongest frame, but you can take him anywhere. He’s useful in Capture and Exterminate missions, giving the team a speed boost to get the mission done… [Continue Reading]

On Owning Every Warframe Currently Available

The other day, I got Zephyr Prime to level 30, thus completing my journey into collecting and mastering every Warframe currently available in the game. I don’t have every single one in my inventory, a lot of Warframes with Prime variants got sold and replaced by Primes, but I’ve mastered all of them. At the same time, Warframe has overtaken Team Fortress 2 as my most-played game on Steam, and frankly that alone is impressive. I never thought any game would be as addictive as Team Fortress 2 was to me, let alone a free to play game that requires… [Continue Reading]

Why I Haven’t Done My Mastery Rank Test

I haven’t done my Mastery Rank test in a long time. I’ve been Mastery Rank 16 for about 3 months now and literally did the MR17 and MR18 tests a few days ago. The Mastery Rank 19 test is staring at me. I actually have enough affinity accumulated to get to about MR 20, if I wanted to. I’d have to stagger the tests over several days (since there’s a limit of one test, pass or fail, every 24 hours). But I haven’t done them. I don’t want to look like a really good player when I’m just an alright… [Continue Reading]

How to Obtain Every Warframe, up to Yareli

Oh hey, a random guide! I managed to get every Warframe in the game, you should be able to as well! Please note that you have to build each component first, then use them to build the complete Warframe. Components (Chassis, Neuroptics, Chassis) take 12 hours to build and Warframes take 3 days to build. Let’s get started! Ash Ash’s components are obtained by killing Grineer Manics, with about 30% to drop each piece. Ash’s blueprint is available in the market. The best source of Grineer Manics is Grineer Survival or Defection missions. Ash parts now drop in Railjack missions.… [Continue Reading]

The Humble Capture Mission

After a mediocre day, there is always one thing that cheers me up. Capture missions. Ideally Void Fissure ones. Even better if they’re Lith Fissures on Venus or Mars. There’s something about their simplicity that I truly enjoy. Capture missions are one of the easiest mission types in Warframe. You leap into the mission, leap through randomly picked tiles to get to the Capture Target, you attack the target until he or she falls down, then you stand over them and turn them into little cubes. After that, you’re free to do whatever you want. Most people will just head… [Continue Reading]

The Annoyance of Corrosive Projection

What’s the best aura for any Warframe? Corrosive Projection. No other aura, not the energy regeneration of Energy Siphon, not the extra slots and damage from Steel Charge, not Growing Power, nothing. Nothing beats Corrosive Projection. Why? Because armor is a bitch, and one person using the Corrosive Projection augment removes 24% of armour. The more armor you have, the more damage resistance you have. That’s great if you’re a Warframe, you can make your health last much longer and you don’t die so easily. But when it comes to enemies? Well, that armor scales with an enemy’s level. And… [Continue Reading]

Good Guy Oberon – A Bit of Everything

Oberon is a weird frame. A lovely frame, a powerful frame, but a weird frame. Often described as a paladin and a protector of nature, Oberon can both heal and hurt, giving you plenty of ways to use and abuse his power. His normal self appears as a deer-like being, while Oberon Prime takes on features that are closer to that of a goat. Let’s start with obtaining Oberon. Oberon parts have a chance of dropping from Eximus enemies. You know, the ones with the weird mesh energy effects on them that have a range of weird and annoying abilities… [Continue Reading]

IT’S OVER 1900! Celebrating 1900 articles and 900 Medic articles – Giveaway!

I said I wouldn’t do milestone articles and stuff but I like the number 900 and the number 1900 has the number 900 in it as well, so double bubble. The 2000th article is still a way away, and it’s unlikely that the articles I write will coincide with the big 2K. Also I just kinda wanted to do a giveaway. But first off, let’s spend a moment thinking just how awesome we are, having published over 1900 articles on the Daily SPUF, one a day since our inception, and the fact that Missy Medic here, the person writing this… [Continue Reading]

Thick

Sirens blared as the three Tenno charged through the Corpus base. They were looking for their target, a teleporting Corpus Tech who had knowledge on a super weapon the Corpus were looking to build for the Grineer. The Corpus Tech in question was teleporting between rooms, but so far the Tenno had kept up. Suddenly, a lockdown was initiated. While the first two Tenno managed to slide under the doors into the same room as the Tech, the third was locked out. “You alright back there, Excal?” Volt shouted as he drew his polearm. “I’ll be fine…” Excalibur shouted back.… [Continue Reading]

An Idea for a Sergeant Rework

I have two favourite bosses in Warframe. Tyl Regor is an amazing boss with an amazing fight in a cool area, and he’s got this buttery smooth voice that taunts you, making the long, tiring farm for Equinox not nearly as awful as it should be. Tyl Regor’s boss fight is enjoyable and has good mechanics. My other favourite boss, the Sergeant? Uh, not so much. You see, the Sergeant is a relic of the past. Back when Warframe was young, most bosses were just bigger versions of normal enemies, in a different colour. Vay Hek was originally just a… [Continue Reading]
