Pokemon GO’s Mega Evolutions Aren’t So Bad Any More

When Mega Pokemon came out, no one was particularly happy. The time and effort required to actually get a Mega Pokemon was incredibly demanding. And to make matters worse, these Pokemon could only be mega-evolved for 4 hours at a time. Everything about the whole system felt incredibly wrong. But lately, Mega Evolutions don’t feel nearly as bad as they used to be. There’s been improvements. One or two raids The first and biggest change is the number of raids you have to do. Originally, you’d get 50-80 Mega Candy per Mega Raid you did. This meant that, for the… [Continue Reading]

Just Some More Cool Small Youtube Channels that I’d Like to Recommend

A while back, due to writers’ block, I recommended a bunch of Youtube channels. The idea was to showcase smaller channels because, frankly, my recommendation feed from Youtube is too busy. Youtube always wants to recommend channels with huge numbers of viewers. Sometimes though, a smaller channel will slip through. And sometimes these channels catch my eye. Learning Curve The first channel I’d like to recommend is Learning Curve. On this channel, we are treated to various interesting science topics, such as Brown Dwarf stars, the biology of bees and strange paradoxes. Oddly enough, this channel is quite new to… [Continue Reading]

Warming Up To Cups

I know what some of you might be thinking. Perhaps, after all these years, Medic here has finally gone insane and is writing complete and utter bollocks. Or, alternatively, you might be asking yourself whether Medic had a vendetta against cups or something. There’s definitely some insanity in here, but it’s not that bad. Or maybe it is, and I’m completely insane. It’s probably the latter. I should probably start explaining. It’s about cooking In this article, I’m talking about using cups as a form of measurement while cooking. Normally, I do one of two things. I either get out… [Continue Reading]

Fishing for Fortunes

I like fishing mini-games. They are almost always rather quiet and peaceful. It’s a chance to stop, take a break and, well, catch some fish. And by catching fish, we can slowly accumulate fortunes, much more money than you would think. My original fishing experiences come from Minecraft. Originally, fishing was genuinely slow and bad. You could only catch fish or random junk. That was only ever on vanilla Minecraft though. Many survival multiplayer servers however had plugins or mods that would make things more interesting. One of the earlier servers I played on, the more you used a tool… [Continue Reading]

On Ammo Nerfs

So, part of the Veilbreaker update came with some form of balancing. For a while now, explosive weapons have dominated throughout all areas of Warframe’s PvE content, and people were getting tired of it. I can understand why, because no one likes running after someone just picking up loot. However, rather than just nerfing everything into the ground, we ended up with, well, ammo. Both in magazine sizes and how much ammo we can hold.  It’s quite interesting. Only two types of ammo. We used to have loads of types of ammo. Ammo for most weapon types, funnily enough. But… [Continue Reading]

Mindless Violence

Editor’s note: The article you are about to read was originally written in 2008 by my mum, an all-round amazing woman. Today marks two years after her passing, so, instead of writing something myself, I am publishing this article in her memory. Mum was simply the best, a lunatic with a huggable exterior and a sharp wit inside her mind. It’s an honour to be able to share some more of her work with you. I hope you all enjoy this sliver of my mum’s brilliance and insanity. There’s nothing wrong with a spot of mindless violence, I say. Not… [Continue Reading]

It Should Have Been Ramsey

So a while back, we went into Ramsey’s office, only to see the word GUILTY scribbled across the walls. The Pirate Lord seemed completely unaware of this, and was just chilling out there. The signs all pointed towards a murder mystery, the case of the death of DeMarco, Ramsey’s son. From this picture, it seemed as if Ramsey had definitely done something wrong and was somehow connected to the death of his son, perhaps killing his son himself. This was all part of a murder mystery event, somewhat spurred on via Twitter. And, after a few weeks, we uncovered the… [Continue Reading]

In Love With the Sounds of Sea of Thieves

There’s a lot of things you can complain about in the Sea of Thieves. It’s a massive mish-mash of different sorts of adventures and quests, while also being somewhat unstable at various times, and has a really weird playerbase. But there is one thing in particular that Sea of Thieves really excels at: its sounds. That seems like a particularly odd thing to pick out. After all, the Sea of Thieves also has amazing water effects and its art style is very unique. Even if their newer clothing options look more like Fortnite skins rather than clothes for pirates. It’s… [Continue Reading]

IGNIS WRAITHS FOR EVERYONE!

In what felt like a decade ago, I spent two and a half hours doing a Defection mission with my then rather busy little clan. Back then, I was a newbie, and my job was to play Trinity and spam healing. Otherwise the rest of the group and the Grineer defectors we were saving would all die. The Pacifism Defect was very tough, and pretty much every player in the clan pulled their own weight. The Tenno of Anarchy managed to reach the top 10% of clans, and we were rewarded with the Ignis Wraith blueprint, added directly to our… [Continue Reading]

D&D 5e: Why You Should Play a Dex Paladin

Paladin is an incredible class, possibly the most reliable all-rounder in D&D. Between their tankiness, damage output, healing output, magic steed, and sky-high Charisma, they’re an incredible choice for new and old players. When I GMed a solo adventure to introduce the system to my boyfriend, I knew Paladin was the best class to let him experience everything D&D has to offer. But there’s one Paladin playstyle I don’t hear talked about often, and that’s the Dex Paladin. Normally, Paladins are the iconic Strength class, thanks to their heavy armor and predilection for melee combat. But I happen to believe… [Continue Reading]
