Holy Resource Costs, Batman! – The Insane Upgrades and Resource Costs for Railjacks

So you’ve been playing with your Railjack for a bit and the first two things you will notice are that the base ship has basically no health and that the starter guns are fucking awful once you’ve completed the first or second missions. That’s alright! Because there’s two great ways in which you can get better gear! The first way is simple. Get your clan to fund all the new Sigma MK gear in the clan dojo! You can get this gear in order, starting with crappy starter stuff, then MK1 versions of that stuff, then MK2, then finally MK3… [Continue Reading]

Merry Smissmas Everyone

It’s that time of year again. It’s Smissmas. “Medic, don’t you mean Christmas?” No, I mean Smissmas. It’s just like Christmas except it’s a silly version taken straight out of Team Fortress 2. Now, I haven’t played Team Fortress 2 properly in a long time. Due to being a Medic main and the average player not really understanding a Medic’s limitations, I kinda drifted away and started playing games where I didn’t need to worry about others keeping my character safe. The lack of decent Team Fortress 2 updates with anything actually in them put me off entirely, especially since… [Continue Reading]

The Adventures of Volt and Smaller Volt

“Hey, space mum!” Volt rolled his neural sensors as he received another message from an Excalibur he had recently taken under his wing. Unlike the first Excalibur, who seemed to know what he was doing and just lacked the firepower, this Excalibur was filled with questions. Questions and annoying nicknames for Volt. “Please don’t call me that…” Volt sighed, before perking up. “How you doing?” “I’m doing great!” the fresh, young Tenno messaged back. “I just finished an exterminate mission and now I’m going to do a sabotage mission on Mercury!” “You need help?” Volt asked. “Uh, no, but I… [Continue Reading]

Things That Empyrean Really Needs

I’ve been playing quite a bit of Empyrean now. It’s an amazing experience that’s full of bugs and things blowing up, as well as lots of hectic running around. While the bugs will eventually be fixed or at least minimized and made less common, like the weird stuck-on-crewship bug, there are a lot of little QOL feature things that Empyrean needs in the meantime. We’ll get more missions soon, we’ll get Corpus, Infested and Sentient missions soon, but these suggestions are all little changes that would make Empyrean smoother. Ability to designate the role you want There’s really only four… [Continue Reading]

Erra – A New Hidden Quest and/or Cinematic

Turns out that there’s a hidden quest that came alongside the Empyrean update! Well, not really a quest, more like a short cinematic teaser that is locked away in some retched corner of the Veil Proxima. I should point out now, this is massive spoiler material. Material I shouldn’t even see, because I don’t have Intrinsics 7 yet, a clan mate who has rushed through everything helped me and other clan mates get to the mission. But more on that later. Spoilers ahead! The cinematic is about 8 minutes long, including loading times. It really is just a cinematic. I… [Continue Reading]

Medic’s Misthoughts on Melee 2.999 Recurring

I’ve been meaning to mention the melee changes that came with the Old Blood update for a while, especially since it made up at least a quarter of the Old Blood, aside from the Liches, the Ember and Vauban reworks and the vast amounts of other changes they made. Essentially all melee weapons got reworked, with new animations and new buffs and stat changes and all sorts. So, uh, how is it? I, uh, am not completely sure. I want to say that Melee 2.999 is great, especially since Melee 2.998 was a bit all over the place and unfinished.… [Continue Reading]

The Brand New Pokemon Go Buddy System

Niantic and Pokemon Go teased a new buddy system recently, and, much to my surprise, it came out before Christmas even though all the teasing was for 2020. So now we have a buddy system that is far, far more than just a Pokemon idly standing by your side getting candy. The candy earnings are still there, but there’s a bunch of new features for your buddy, making them actually feel like some sort of companion that does things, and rewarding the player for doing tasks with their buddy. As well as the candy earned by walking, you can now… [Continue Reading]

Warframe, Over 3000 Hours Later…

In July of 2016, I wrote an article about Warframe as I was just starting to get into it. I titled that article “Warframe – Still Not Sure” because, at the time, I was unsure whether I would continue playing Warframe. Well, over 3000 hours later, I can tell you that the article in question, which is still available to read, has aged incredibly poorly. The most obvious thing is that I’m still playing Warframe. I’m playing a lot of Warframe. In fact, lately, it’s the only game I play on a regular basis aside from Pokemon Go. And it’s… [Continue Reading]

The Sudden Very Obvious Empyrean Meta

It’s only been like a week, and already a meta has evolved in Railjack missions. There’s literally no way around it though, due to the fact that each Empyrean mission is time-consuming and very hectic, even if you have a full crew of MR 27-28 players. With so much going on, you need everyone to do their tasks and do them well. Luckily though, it’s very easy to arrange a group into their respective roles. From what I’ve seen so far, there’s four main roles. One person focuses on flying; one person rushes around repairing things and occasionally shoots things… [Continue Reading]

December Community Weekend

Pokemon Go decided to end community days for 2019 with a bang by repeating somewhat what they did in 2018, by having a community day weekend, bringing back all of the year’s community day Pokemon for one final send off before leaping into 2020, while also bringing back 2018’s Pokemon. So we get two things: a collection of Pokemon from 2019 and a collection of Pokemon from 2018. One of these was done really well. The other, not so much. When it comes to the implementation of the 2019 community day stuff, I couldn’t be happier. We get two days’… [Continue Reading]
