Sandshrew Community Day

Sandshrews with paint

It’s been a while since I commented on a Community Day, but that’s mostly because, well, they’ve not been that interesting. The last Community Day before Sandshrew was Hoppip, a rather quiet little event. However, it was just before the Johto Tour, where all Johto Pokemon had their releases anyway. So, after a bunch of Johto stuff, which also comes along with Kanto stuff, you’d think we’d have a new shiny from elsewhere, right? You never know after all. There’s still a lot of Pokemon without their shinies that would work, right? A Buggy Day Oh look another Kanto Pokemon… [Continue Reading]

Why Would Anyone Nerf Incense in Pokemon GO?

Arceus the Pokemon God

After the Johto Tour and the Season of Heritage faded away, something went wrong. Incense, one of the most accessible premium items in Pokemon GO, was nerfed. In fact, Incense had actually returned to its previous state, before COVID and all that. Why did this happen? I have no idea. But no matter how you look at Incense, it’s definitely not in a good spot any more. Pre-Pandemic Problems Before the pandemic, Incense wasn’t a particularly good item. It lasted half an hour and spawned a Pokemon every 5 minutes or so, based on how fast you were going. If… [Continue Reading]

Just Some Cool Small Youtube Channels that I’d Like to Recommend

payday 2 melee

When it comes to Youtube, my recommended section is always a bloody mess. It’s mostly full of old ASMR shit or the same handful of episodes of QI or Taskmaster. And never in any reasonable order. If it’s not UK quiz shows that I’ve already watched, it’s those damn “lo fi” channels constantly popping up, “mixes” of music or videos in a language I can’t read. Occasionally I’ll find something interesting, but I have to filter through all the other stuff first. However, sometimes you do find really cool stuff. Like the ones mentioned here. Danooct1 I’ve always been interested… [Continue Reading]

A Forgotten Plot Amid Seasons

Pokemon Go - Tyranitar

For a while now, there has been some sort of on-going story arc in Pokemon GO. The Season of Mischief introduced us to Hoopa and portals, and that mini plot point somewhat led us to a large door. Season of Heritage gave us a proper idea that something strange is going on. However, none of this plot is particularly… memorable. Nor does it make much sense. And with Season of Heritage leaving and Season of Alola starting, the plot lines just kinda fizzle out. “Wait there’s a plot?” So, throughout Season of Heritage, we had some interesting plot threads lying… [Continue Reading]

Are Zaws and Kitguns TOO Strong?

Ash Prime with a Zaw

Zaws and Kitguns, added alongside the Plains of Eidolon and Fortuna, are basically DIY weaponry. You buy the blueprints for the sort of gun you want, you craft from the blueprints and then you give the parts to a vendor to build it for you. Generally, the blueprints for the components contain various open world resources, but once you have reached level 5 with Fortuna or Cetus, you’ll probably have enough resources to build anything. And you’ll want to reach rank 5 before you start on DIY weapons. Doing so gives you access to not just the best components, but… [Continue Reading]

We need more dual primary weapons.

Day of the Dead Syandana, Grakata and Twin Grakata and Kronen skins.

Do you know what the best primary weapon in Warframe is? Well, unlike Warframes, there’s no definitive answer, because everyone likes different things. One of my favourite weapons is the Grakata, a crusty, pointy rifle used by the Grineer on occasion. I could also call the Kuva Bramma as one of my favourites. Or perhaps the Supra Vandal, especially when you give it fire rate and not much else. Other people may answer all sorts of stuff, like the Soma Prime or the Opticor. With so many weapons to choose from, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. However, there is always… [Continue Reading]

Holding Off Evolving Starters

The Three Alolan Starter Pokemon

At the start of March, we got a nice Pokemon GO update. The next season was revealed to be the season of Alola. And with it, a bunch of Alolan Pokemon got their debuts in Pokemon GO. The Pokemon in question? Mostly the starter Pokemon from the Alola region, as well as your basic common bird and rat Pokemon. However, while it is tempting to get the new Pokedex entries and evolve the starters straight away, it might be worth waiting for a bit. Why? Because starter Pokemon are always strong candidates for Community Days. Starter Pokemon are always a… [Continue Reading]

When Writers’ Block Attacks

My cat, Ringo

Today, I am going to write about Writers’ Block. Because, somewhat ironically, I have a massive problem with Writers’ Block currently. Turns out, writing 500 words a day every day can only go on for so long. I was bound to get burnt out eventually. However, I’m still trying and I haven’t given up yet. So how am I coping? Eh, I’ve felt better. Got no energy. Normally, in a day, I have time to write something. Generally my writing is done in the evening, after work. But so far, 2022 has been keeping me quite busy, to the point… [Continue Reading]

Warframe Weapons that I Completely Forgot About but Used to Use all the Time

It's quite hard to capture how awesome the Sonicor is in screenshots

The other day, I was looking back through some old Warframe screenshots when I made a sudden realization. My weapons these days are all powerful ones, like the Kuva Bramma or the Arca Plasmor. But I wasn’t always kitted up. There was a lot of time spent leveling up weapons then moving onto the next one. However, even with my many years of grinding the newest shiny, there were weapons that I loved which, unfortunately, ended up getting forgotten about. Here’s to a trip down memory lane for some of my old favourites. Rakta Cernos I’ve always liked bows, they’re… [Continue Reading]

On Making The Worst Warframe Specter Ever

Saryn and a Nidus Specter

A while back, I looked at Warframe Specters. These DIY clones can offer fantastic support, and are cheap to make and use. Well, the basic ones are cheap to use, but cosmic specters are a bit too pricey. That being said, at higher levels, there’s not much difference between the different specter types anyway. Either way, there are some great specters to choose from, like Wisp and Nidus. However, a thought occurred to me lately. What if I tried to make the WORST specter possible? How bad could it be? Limbo It’s no competition here. The Limbo Specter does basically… [Continue Reading]
