Why Warframe Shouldn’t Have an MMO-Style Market

Every time something vaguely related to trading comes up in Warframe, someone always shouts that we need an MMO-style market. Or an auction shop, or whatever you want to call it. The idea being that users just throw up what they want to sell and buyers can just click a button instantly and get their item. After all, an auction house works great in other games, doesn’t it? Surely it’ll work in Warframe and it’ll make trading so much easier! But I don’t think it will. I actually think an auction house will make trading worse. Now, that’s a rather… [Continue Reading]

Medic tries Apex Legends

Apex Legends is a 60-player Battle Royale game published by EA. That sentence is normally enough to send me screaming and running away in the other direction. A game related to EA? Some sort of Battle Royale game? One that involves slightly more realistic shooting? None of those things are options I like in my video games. I’ve always been the sort who prefers more cartoony stuff, but here I am, giving Apex a try. Funnily enough, Apex Legends is actually a game I have been pestered about for ages. Despite all the aforementioned problems that would normally put me… [Continue Reading]

Level 40 Get!

I’ve done it! I’ve finally hit level 40 in Pokemon Go! Actually, by the time this article comes out, I’ll have been level 40 for a few days. But my days of leveling are over! It only took me four months, but I finally got the 5 million experience needed to hit the maximum level in Pokemon Go. Was it worth it? Kinda. Well, the good news is that I have no use for Lucky Eggs any more. The bad news is that I received 4 Lucky Eggs for hitting level 40. I also received 4 Incubators, 40 Max Potions… [Continue Reading]

Team Fortress 2’s Teamwork

In my last article, I said that teamwork in TF2 is easier than in other games, with hero shooters being my example of the alternative. I’m going to explain why I think that. Firstly, there is very little overlap in the class roles. The nine classes by default have very clear, distinct roles with minimal overlap, so you can tell what your team needs at a glance. You need someone to heal? Medic. You need to defend a point? Engineer. You need to destroy a particularly annoying Sentry Nest? Spy. You need to get somewhere faster? Scout. So on, and… [Continue Reading]

Cautious Shot Is (Currently) A Worthless Mod

Warframe has a huge number of mods. Because of how many mods it has, it’s guaranteed that some Warframe mods will be bad. Some Warframe mods have no practical use despite sounding good on paper. Many Warframe mods have more useful variants or are simply too niche in their usage. In fact, some mods could be usable, if they didn’t cost so much. But there are plenty of mods that have the pretense of being useful when they simply are not. Today, I want to talk about one of these mods. Editor’s note: It turns out self-damage is actually going… [Continue Reading]

The Revision and Refreshing Update Everyone Has Been Waiting For

The 139th Devstream claimed itself to be a boring update. It only had three of the normal staff and one of the developers themselves was claiming how boring it would be. Somehow though, Devstream 139 turned out to be one of the better Devstreams so far. Why? Because it contained everything that everyone has been asking for, for years. We were given a 20-ish point list of things, an agenda of what the next mainline update will be. All of it is awesome. Bug fixes, balance changes, improved data, all sorts. It’s almost everything players have been asking for. Seriously,… [Continue Reading]

Are the Monthly Team Rocket Quests Too Difficult?

In the past, we have discussed a lot of Team Go Rocket stuff, from how to beat them to the rather weird, outlandish theories I have about all of them being clones. But I haven’t really discussed the actual difficulty level of these monthly research quests. Sure, I mentioned how the “purify Pokemon” step is easier to do. And I was glad when Arlo stopped having Scyther as his starting Pokemon. But in general, is this special research too difficult? I’m going to say yes. Before I go on though, I feel I should point out that I can be… [Continue Reading]

Boomkong – The Joy of Wukong and Exploding Bows

I’ve never been a fan of exploding weapons in Warframe. Explosive weaponry is simply too scary for the average Tenno. Because of how much damage explosive weapons do, we blow ourselves up. A lot. To the point that we leave most explosive weapons to one side. In fact, the only really popular explosive weapons were originally weapons like the Tonkor… which had next to no self-damage. Which was removed. The Exceptions to the Rule The Kuva Bramma on the other hand is quite a popular weapon. While it IS a Kuva weapon and requires killing a Lich to obtain, it’s… [Continue Reading]

Team Fortress 2 Is An Amazing Drop In, Drop Out Game

For ages, Battle Royale games were being touted as the best thing ever, because you could always just drop in and drop out of said games whenever you wanted. What was that? You died literally two seconds after landing from the dropship? That’s fine, you can immediately quit and queue up for a new game. Doesn’t matter whether that other game is still going, you can just join a new game. That constant flow of players in and out of games helped make Battle Royales so easy to pick up and play. It didn’t matter if you died, you can… [Continue Reading]

[Pokemon GO] 5 Ways to Catch Pokemon Without Spawns

Of the many, many thingsĀ Pokemon GO expects you to do every day to keep your streaks up, the most important is to catch a single Pokemon. Stardust is the most valuable of the non-premium currencies, requiring hundreds of thousands of the stuff to do all the important stuff in the late game, and the first-catch boost (and 7-Day streak bonus) is one of the best ways to keep stocked up with minimum effort. But sometimes that’s easier said than done. Perhaps you’re going on vacation to somewhere without much internet presence. Perhaps (like me) you ended up moving to a… [Continue Reading]
