A Volt Deluxe Skin! Yay!

It finally happened! After all these years! My beloved Volt has received a deluxe skin that actually looks like a deluxe skin! Alongside the New War update, we got two new deluxe skins, for Volt and Mesa. The theme for them both is Sentient in design, and they represent how the Warframes would look like, if Sentients had made them. Kinda like failed experiments on the path to creating Caliban, the actually Sentient Warframe. For both Warframes, this is actually a second deluxe skin for them. They both already have deluxe skins, but the first deluxe skins didn’t sit well… [Continue Reading]

Treating Myself with a New Pair of Wings in Warframe

The other day, I was browsing through my fashion loadouts for Volt. As you might expect, I have already bought the extra loadout slots for both Volt and Volt Prime. However, as I was trying to work out a new look for the only Tennogen skin I own, I stumbled across a Tennogen Syandana. All of a sudden, I had a desperate need to buy the Night Hunter Wings Syandana. I just had to have it, it works so well on my already-infested Volt look. So, for the first time in ages, I decided to treat myself. I went and… [Continue Reading]

Another Ramble About Destiny 2’s Shaders

A while back, I rambled on about how I didn’t really like the cosmetic system in Destiny 2. Since I was regularly farming gear over and over to upgrade my light level, I was stuck with ugly, default colours. While I did have the ability to change my looks with shaders, it honestly wasn’t worth it. I was just wearing whatever had the biggest number on it, and hoped I’d find something better. In fact, one of the bigger turn-offs was how Destiny 2 shaders were one-use only. If I needed more shaders, I’d need to spend resources to obtain… [Continue Reading]

The Tenno’s Forgotten Past

In Warframe, there is a very specific name used for our characters. Warframes are our suits, we are Operators. But, as a whole, we are called Tenno. Not only are we particularly strange, but we have vast amounts of powers. We are considered as saviors to some, terrorists and betrayers to others. Most of the time though, we’re rampaging around, murdering thousands, all because of our greed. The Tenno are somewhat hypocritical and cause a lot of destruction. In fact, you could consider the Tenno as bad guys. Or at least nearly as bad as the bad guys. Frankly, it’s… [Continue Reading]

Please Let Us Keep the Dog Days Ephemera

When Dog Days came by last year, one of the biggest requests was that we needed the cute rubber rings as a cosmetic. There was also huge demand for the water gun as a weapon skin. Sadly our wishes were not granted, and Dog Days 2020 faded away. But in 2021, we got our wishes. For 490 Nakak Pearls, you could buy the weapon skin. And for one Nakak Pearl, the Dog Days Ephemera was ours to keep. Except it’s not. The Dog Days Ephemera will go away after Dog Days ends. Why? I don’t know. For some reason, the… [Continue Reading]

Is A Proto Skin A Deluxe Skin?

In 2017, Volt got a deluxe skin called Proto Volt. Honestly, I wasn’t that big a fan of it. While most deluxe skins tend to go for a completely different look at a Warframe, the Proto Volt skin is just… Volt. Volt but unfinished. Back then, I wrote an article about it, saying how it was mostly alright. At the end of the article however, I asked whether Proto Skins counted as deluxe skins or not. There were three Proto Skins. Well, four if you include the Glaive skin. When it comes to Warframes though, we had the two Dark… [Continue Reading]

A Chat About Some Fancy Wings

Star Days is over. With its disappearance, you’ll no longer be able to buy stuff from Ticker’s special shop. While most of it is just cosmetics, we’ll also be unable to get the Snipetron blueprint for a while. But the biggest thing that’s disappearing is the Eros Wings Ephemera. You know, the wings that tons of people are currently wearing. These wings however are… a little bit controversial. For a large variety of reasons. And I think it’s worth having a closer look at these fancy wings. The wings aren’t actually bad, just out of place. I don’t want to… [Continue Reading]

Ticker’s Star Days Niceness

Ticker’s probably one of the best characters in Warframe. How can you not love someone who loves everyone else so much? Unlike most of Fortuna’s dealers, Ticker spends her time trying to buy out other people’s debt, and allows you to do the same. And to celebrate Star Days, Ticker is doing some nice things. Before you ask, Star Days is just an in-universe version of Valentines Day. Except it’s all about loving everyone. Love in all its forms, as Ticker herself would say. It’s a sweet thought, and much nicer than our own commercial holiday. For Star Days, Ticker… [Continue Reading]

A Ramble About Animation Sets – Which Animation Sets are Good or Bad

Animation sets are an interesting little idea. Each frame has their own personality, their own way that they stand. While the way a frame holds a weapon or idles is simple, it does make every frame more unique. We always get two: an agile and a noble animation set. And, over time, these animation sets have become more fancy. But the more interesting thing is that you can purchase these. You can buy a set and apply it on any frame you like. Of course, some of these are more more popular than others. And, of course, I have a… [Continue Reading]

The Scaling Level of Pointlessness When It Comes to Cosmetics

It’s funny how some things come to you. I’ve got a good 1500+ hours playing Team Fortress 2, and it took me a good part of them to realise that cosmetics are actually almost completely pointless since you never actually see them. They are only ever seen by other people, unless you use that weird console command that shows your body. But even then, your head isn’t visible and you don’t even get to always see unusual effects. Aside from one obscure console command though, you’re dressing yourself up so you can look at yourself in menus. Any cosmetics you… [Continue Reading]
