The Things a Pissed off Sentient Says

I’ve been thinking way too hard about how everyone talks to us during the Ropalolyst fight. I mean, Alad V’s words are pretty standard for Alad V. He’s always been a double-crosser, about as loyal as a snake covered in oil being thrown into a cage of mice and only about seventeen times as slippery. He’ll do anything for power and money for his experiments. He’ll claim that it’s to bring peace to the solar system but really it’s all to inflate his own self worth. Then again, it turns out that Alad V was tricked by a mimic pretending… [Continue Reading]

An Unwelcome Monologue

The Jovian Concord brings with it some very strange new… story elements. We discovered in the later end of Night Wave episode 1 that Alad V was making Amalgam beings – beings that were part Sentient, part something else, and that whole Sentient Hybrid thing is basically a massive part of this new update. Actually, it’s the main theme of this update, probably more so than “Jupiter gets a makeover”. There’s more Sentients in this update than on the Plains of Eidolon. And the Plains of Eidolon are covered with bits of dead Sentient. Spoilers ahead, by the way. But… [Continue Reading]

What Are Tenno Anyway?

To someone who is playing Warframe, the phrase “What are Tenno?” is a pretty easy question to answer on the surface. A Tenno is the player’s character. It’s who we are playing as from the moment we wake up in the hands of Captain Vor to the moment we free ourselves on the Moon to the moment that we watch the Lotus return home. More specifically, the Tenno is the person in the back of your ship who telepathically controls a Warframe during missions and occasionally leaps out of said Warframe to do things on their own. But deeper down,… [Continue Reading]

Space Mum’s Future

Yesterday, I wrote about the Lotus, the being most Warframe players lovingly call Space Mum. I mentioned the three recent quests that all put the Lotus in a very dark, very scary place, casting a massive shadow of doubt on who she is, what she wants and whether she is acting under her own free will. But I never really considered any of the potential futures for the Lotus. The Warframe universe is a very strange place and all sorts of randomness could happen – after all, not everyone expected that Warframes are controlled by ageless children but are also… [Continue Reading]

What About Space Mum?

On December 21st 2017, Space Mum disappeared. A hidden quest, Apostasy Prologue, led us to a shiny orb in our brand new Personal Quarters. This orb took us to Lua and to the Reservoir where we found out who we really were. But then we were taken further, deep underground, into the lair of the Lotus herself. We expected a warm greeting but were instead left with confusion and anger as we heard Margulis’s last words and watched as Ballas took the Lotus away. We returned to our ships, cradling the helmet of the one we perceived to be our… [Continue Reading]

On the Personalities of Massive Robot Spider Things

So far there are two massive, four-legged spider robot things that are active and angry in the Orb Vallis. The Profit-Taker Orb spends most of her life hanging around the Enrichment Center in the center of the Vallis while the Exploiter Orb is much more active, roaming around the Temple of Profit with a small army of Coolant Raknoids. Both of these weird spider robot things though have personalities. Very different ones. The Profit-Taker Orb’s personality doesn’t really appear until you do the four heists that are tied to her destruction. Whenever you encounter her outside of the four heist… [Continue Reading]

Buried Debts – Not A Fun ARG At All

Turns out, there’s a whole Buried Debts ARG (Augmented Reality Game) tied in with the Thermia Fractures event. I mentioned the whole Data Hashes thing briefly in my previous article, but I want to talk about these data hashes specifically. The premise is simple. The players need to find and scan a bunch of data hashes, 14 in total. As you scan them, Eudico and Zuud will start discussing things. The data hashes lead to a secret on the edge of the Orb Vallis. The community needs to band together and scan all of these things to unlock further secrets.… [Continue Reading]

Thoughts on an Infested Open World Area

When you look at the Plains of Eidolon and the Orb Vallis, one can’t help and think “what’s next?” Logically, if you look at what the Plains of Eidolon and the Orb Vallis are themed around, you’d probably think that an Infested-themed open world area would come next. But will it? I’m not so sure. I mean, it makes sense that an Infested open world would come next. After all, we have a Corpus area and a Grineer area, and the Infested are the other major faction. The other factions, the Orokin and the Sentients, tend to command everyone else… [Continue Reading]

New War Predictions and Desires

The New War is the next part of the Warframe storyline, a quest that features the Sentient Natah rather than the Lotus. Although frankly, considering that the only info we have is that Natah went back to her mum and her mum wants her to destroy everything, all coming from a very small trailer released at the end of Tennocon 2018, the New War could consist of just about anything. So, since we know nothing of the New War, here’s some predictions and desires as to what the New War will contain. Let’s start with predictions, because we can certainly… [Continue Reading]

The Pointlessness of Skyrim’s Civil War

The Civil War in Skyrim is one of the game’s main themes. On one side, you have Stormcloaks trying to make Skyrim a separate entity, its own country/empire/state/whatever. On the other side, you have the Imperials trying to keep the empire together. Skyrim’s gameplay does push you towards the Stormcloaks, but honestly, I never felt that the Stormcloaks were… justified. The Stormcloaks’ demands are simple. They want to freely worship Talos and they want Skyrim’s independence. Those are fair, noble causes worth fighting for. But you have to pick a time and place to fight for these things. You see,… [Continue Reading]
