Waiiiiiit, Scream Fortress XI Happened?

Scream Fortress came a bit early this year, with very little going on with it. I didn’t make an article about it because there honestly was very little to write about, but what I DID do was make a fake update page for Scream Fortress XI (ELEVEN for those who can’t read Roman Numerals) because guess what, there wasn’t one this year. Then again, there hasn’t been a Scream Fortress update page since Scream Fortress 7, which means I’ve made a fake update page for the last 4 years. The result is a strange mess of scribbles which gets worse… [Continue Reading]

The Warframe Saint of Altra Update – First Thoughts?

I’m a little bit angry at this update. After all, it killed the blessed Fortuna 69 with its awkward timing, and that place was as saintly, probably more saintly, than this update. After all, the Saint of Altra brings with it a bunch of new things, most notably things to kill people with. Things that kill people while supposedly being vaguely saintly. There are four main things that the Saint of Altra brought with it. The first is Gauss, which I can’t tell you much about since he’s currently building in my foundry. All I know right now is that… [Continue Reading]

Role Queue is Finally Coming to Overwatch!

Rejoice! (Or doomsay, if you’re on the other side of the fence.) A special edition of the Overwatch League tie-in show Watchpoint just happened, and they’ve formally announced the worst-kept open secret in Overwatch: role queue is finally coming to our favorite Blizzard shooter. Since the early days of Overwatch, players have been able to pick whatever character they want, and the game simply trusts all 6 to pick things that contribute to the team comp as a whole. If your team wants to go 6 supports, you could. No tank? No problem! However, this has led to some problems that… [Continue Reading]

Tennocon 2019

I should point out, I wrote most of this at 3am. Because I stayed up to watch Tennolive. But Tennocon is cool. Oh so very cool. And this year, we got to watch all the shows and presentations, as they were all streamed on Twitch. That meant we got to see lots of cool stuff that was all teased as “Maybe” or “SOON.” While we’re watching the stream, people at the convention itself are doing Q&As and meeting staff and things like that. We can also buy literally everything Baro Ki’Teer has ever sold from a special Tennocon relay with… [Continue Reading]

A Thought About Mid-Star Chart Difficulty

It occurred to me the other day, while I was messing around trying to scan an Amalgram on a Gas City capture mission, that things are going to be a tad different for any newer players passing through Jupiter. When I say a ‘tad’ different, I mean completely different. Before the Jovian Concord*, Jupiter was never a hard planet but it was never easy either. Ceres and Jupiter are where the difficulty spikes for a new player. While the Grineer just seem to need more hits before dying and introduce Guardsmen who will try and block things, Jupiter’s Corpus just… [Continue Reading]

Jupiter’s New Look – The Jovian Accord

The Jovian Accord is Warframe’s latest big update, featuring a new boss fight, a new game mode, a new Warframe, some new weapons, some new enemies and, most importantly, a complete do-over of the Jupiter Gas City Tileset. Now, the Gas City Tileset isn’t really that old. In fact, there are plenty of planets that actually needed reworks way before Jupiter did. Saturn, the other major gas giant, shares all the same tilesets that Mercury does and has most of its missions on Grineer ships. Meanwhile, Neptune and Pluto both share tilesets with Venus and Europa. But alas, we got… [Continue Reading]

Leafeon*, Glaceon*, Shellos, Gible and more have arrived in Pokemon Go!

*Assuming you have 200 coins or someone to buy a special lure for you. The last few Pokemon of the Sinnoh Region have finally arrived! After being left behind for a damn long time, not to mention the fact that some Pokemon from Generation 3 still aren’t available, we can finally grab the last few non-Legendary Pokemon for the Sinnoh Pokedex! The most recent Pokemon Go update, straight after the Detective Pikachu event, has brought out the remaining, more interesting Pokemon and dumped them into the wild. Except for Rotom and a bunch of Legendaries and Mythicals, but most of… [Continue Reading]

Minecraft 1.14 – Village and Pillage but also Quality of Life

The Minecraft 1.14 update came out recently, bringing with it an absolute ton of new things. The main themes of the update, as implied by the name Village and Pillage, are Villages and Pillagers. With villages spawning everywhere, there are now Pillagers to go alongside Illagers all eager to attack the Villagers. And villages themselves have a lot more going for them, with a ton of new blocks, new village looks and things like that. There is even a new raid system you can stumble into if you accidentally kill a banner-carrying Pillager then go to a village. But honestly… [Continue Reading]

Early Thoughts on the Profit-Taker Fight

The second part of the Fortuna update has arrived and it’s a bit of a doozy. Sure, there’s a new Warframe and a new Prime Warframe and some very nice new weapons, but the main theme of the update is the Profit Taker Heist. This is the first of three vaguely raid-like sets of missions, in which you take down a massive spider creature. The first heist involves taking down the mountain-sized Profit Taker Orb, a Corpus creation made out of a mixture of Corpus and Sentient technology. Anyone who knows a little lore about Warframe will know that Sentient… [Continue Reading]

Vox Solaris – An Intro Quest to Fortuna and the Orb Vallis

Yes, I stayed up until the update hit. For me, it arrived at around 11pm, and you bet your ass that I stayed up and waited for 4gb of data to download on my slow-as-heck internet connection. It was one of the longest waits I’ve had in a while, but it was also reasonably short. And of course, the first thing I do is go to Fortuna! Just like Plains of Eidolon, Fortuna has an opening cut scene you only ever see the first time you go there. Unlike Plains of Eidolon, I couldn’t help but sing along. Also unlike… [Continue Reading]
