Quick Thoughts on Gauss

I’m naughty. I rushed Gauss. I actually managed to get all of Gauss’s parts pretty easily. But that does mean I can give some few quick thoughts about Warframe’s newest, uh, Warframe. First off, the farm. The farm is easy. Gauss’s Neuroptics, Chassis and Systems blueprints all drop from the C rotation of Disruption on Kelpie, Sedna. Not Ceres, like the nice guy in the Levarian suggests. This means that, aside from the first round, you have a chance at getting a Gauss part if you successfully defend all four conduits. And after the fourth round, you have a chance… [Continue Reading]

The Warframe Saint of Altra Update – First Thoughts?

I’m a little bit angry at this update. After all, it killed the blessed Fortuna 69 with its awkward timing, and that place was as saintly, probably more saintly, than this update. After all, the Saint of Altra brings with it a bunch of new things, most notably things to kill people with. Things that kill people while supposedly being vaguely saintly. There are four main things that the Saint of Altra brought with it. The first is Gauss, which I can’t tell you much about since he’s currently building in my foundry. All I know right now is that… [Continue Reading]

Rest in Peace Fortuna 69

Super edit: Turns out the DEvelopers heard our cries and brought back Fortuna 69! Now we can all be nice together again! Super edit 2: Fortuna 69 is down once more, thanks to bad timing on a Angels of the Zariman hotfix. This applies to both pre-New War and post-New War Fortuna 69 relays. Unfortunately, it seems like the Saint of Altra update claimed a victim and it wasn’t Volt or Zephyr being overtaken by Gauss. The Fortuna 69 instance, which had been kept alive since Fortuna was released back in October last year, failed to survive the update. Due… [Continue Reading]

A Strange Kubrow

It had been a while since Volt had interacted with others. Most of the missions he had done, he had set off on his own, finished the mission and returned to his ship, only to rush off, on his own, to another mission. Even more difficult tasks, like half-hour survival missions and defending cryopods against waves of enemies, all of that, he had done alone. Aside from that Hydralyst hunt, but that was a story for another time. Speaking of that Hydralyst hunt, that was what snapped Volt back into Tenno society. While wandering around in Cetus, trying to decide… [Continue Reading]

More on Warframe Armour Sets

I mentioned the other day how the Lodestar Armour Bundle looked really cool but annoyingly floated in mid air rather than being connected to your Warframe’s body, but frankly that article has gone and opened up a can of worms and 500 word rambles. The armour in Warframe is kinda weird and ill-fitting and quite often not armour at all. Let’s take the Avia armour set. Which amazingly has THREE variants: normal, prisma and solstice. But none of these pieces would provide actual armour, they’re just little shiny bits that hang off our arms and legs. There’s no protection to… [Continue Reading]

It’s Not Pay To Win, It’s Pay To Save Time

An article on a different gaming website has brought up the question whether Warframe is Pay to Win or not, and frankly everyone is arguing over the nuance of the question, about what ways Warframe is or is not Pay to Win. First off though, we have to define Pay to Win. The phrase generally implies that you can spend money to get an advantage over your team mates, but there are variations of this. Can you buy things in Warframe that you can’t obtain by playing that affect gameplay and give you an advantage? Not really, no, all Warframes… [Continue Reading]

On Finishing Nightwave Season 2

After a bunch of strangely easy tasks for week 6 of Nightwave, I have reached level 30 and obtained all the cool shit, which I immediately started using. Honestly though, this all went by so quickly. It doesn’t feel like week 6 of Nightwave and it doesn’t feel like Season 2 has been around that long! But yep, it’s been six weeks of genuinely quite simple tasks. Nightwave has been really good though. Most of the tasks have been pretty easy and definitely doable. Even the tougher tasks aren’t too bad. A 30 minute survival seems long but is easily… [Continue Reading]

You’ve finally downloaded that weird space ninja game everyone’s talking about. You’ve installed like 40GB’s worth of stuff. You’ve made an account and you’re finally getting into the game. Immediately, you’re forced to make a choice. Which starter character should you pick? There’s fancy sword guy, fancy electric guy and fancy magnetic girl. You have no idea what’s going on, you don’t know anything yet. This is a big decision that can impact your enjoyment of this game. What do you do? Heck, you might have already picked a character and might be wondering whether you’ve chosen wrong or something!… [Continue Reading]

1000 Days Logging In And All I Got Was This Armour Set

I finally hit it. The 1000 login milestone. Actually, I hit it about two weeks ago but got distracted by a bunch of other things and never got around to writing about it. But either way, Maroo (it’s always her or Simaris, my two least favourite allies) popped by, said some random crap then left me with the Lodestar Armour Bundle. Really, you’d think, after 1000 days, I’d actually call login rewards by their proper term, Daily Tributes, but oh well, they’re daily login rewards, that’s what I remember them as. The Lodestar Armour Bundle is the last of the… [Continue Reading]

The Long, Tedious Grind Towards Using Archwing Guns on Ground Missions

Arch-guns, Archwing Guns are pretty cool. They’re massive, heavy weapons that you summon from your ship and use to murder all your enemies. These weapons were originally only really usable in the vast wastes of space, where the lack of gravity means they are light enough to use. But with a Gravimag and an Orokin Catalyst installed you can use these Archwing Guns in any mission. Sort of. There’s a long, tedious animation you have to sit through first. While some enemies will drop items that will reset the 5 minute cooldown between deployments and refill your limited Arch-gun, you… [Continue Reading]
