Beggin’

The Beggar’s Bazooka baffles me to this very day. Why? I’ll get to that. But the other night, I did something strange and loaded up TF2 and started actually playing. Yeah, seriously. After a while, I ended up in a glitched Mann VS Machine mission, someone had put Wave 666 on Decoy and it just bugged out the whole thing. There was a never-ending stream of Scouts, Soldiers and Demomen, with the occasional random Spy or Sniper. The round never actually ended, so I decided to practice my rocket launcher aim. After enough time, someone did a restart and we tried… [Continue Reading]

Team Fortress 2 Weapons in Skyrim

This is one of those “does what it says on the tin title” articles, but if you’re in the mood for really utterly breaking the lore (and perhaps the law) in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, then this article is for you. First off, where do you get this glorious add on? Simple. The Steam Workshop. As much as the Nexus Mod Manager and all that are great, just clicking “subscribe” works well too. I found these mods by typing TF2 into the search bar. There are three addons for the TF2 weapons, a melee add on, a crossbow add… [Continue Reading]

LAZORS

When you think lasers in TF2, you think of Dr Grordbort. You think of the Cow Mangler, the Righteous Bison, the Man Melter and *shudders* the Pomson. They’re the lasers we have. It’s either those or the Machina and the little beams seen on the Wrangler and Sniper bots in MvM. But do they really fulfill that idea of a deadly laser? Not really. We complain about them but they’re not really lasers. Or at least, they’re not the awe-inspiring things you see in other video games. Let’s have a quick look around in Team Fortress 2 before we head off… [Continue Reading]

The Vita-Saw

The Vita-Saw is a truly unique weapon. The only item in the entirety of TF2 that can carry an effect over from respawn, it brings up so many questions on a fundamental canonical level that I could make my entire article on that. Instead, I’d like to talk about its practical usage. In-game, it’s far and away the best Medic melee, hands down. Competitive Medics who run the Vita-Saw force their opponent to run the saw as well or be at a constant disadvantage just because dropping the Medic doesn’t automatically equal Uber advantage. How quickly did he respawn? Has… [Continue Reading]

5 Weapons that Synergize with the Bushwacka

1. Jarate Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s talk about some more interesting pairs with everyone’s favorite (or least favorite) machete. It’s basically the Sniper default melee of choice these days, just because it’s the only Sniper melee with interesting stats. Even Valve agrees; the earliest ever strange Sniper crate contained a strange Bushwacka, whereas the Strange Kukri had to wait over two years later to exist. Maybe because even without jarate, you can still get the most out of your melee with: 2. The Cleaner’s Carbine: Ever since the stat adjustment where the weakest hitscan… [Continue Reading]

Chik-chik BOOM!

Let’s go back in time, to the year 2013 AD. Think of what you have achieved and learned since that era. Have you found a new career path? Have you started playing some new games? Have you got Rebecca Black’s Friday out of your head yet? Well, up to that year I had little experience with video games. The main things I knew were that big pools of acid hurt, and that I couldn’t aim at all. Most important for this article, I hated shotguns. They made no sense to me, with their miniscule ammo capacities, horrendous reload times and… [Continue Reading]

The Big Earner: Not that much of a Big Earner

When the Uber Update came out, it gave everyone except Engineer a set of weapons to work with. Pyro got shafted a bit by getting just one weapon, but it opened up a whole new strategy of det jumping, which is kind of big. But the downside of getting a whole new array of weapons, is that they all suck! Maybe they don’t. For this article, I’ll focus on the Spy sector. More specifically, his knife, the Big Earner. The Big Earner +30% cloak refilled on kill -25 HP penalty It doesn’t look like the penalty wouldn’t do much harm,… [Continue Reading]

Phlog Updates: The Builder, the Sharpshooter and the Filmmaker

Everything is now back on track with the PhlogistiCast, our new YouTube show tasked with educating players of TF2! Episodes 3 and 4 have recently been released, with our first News Network video uploaded today. In Episode 3 we got Sn8wman on board to talk about the Engineer in all his glory. There was much laughter, cosmetic talk and gnashing of Pomson-rusted teeth. We also discussed the beta maps, Asteroid and Cactus Canyon, finishing with a few notes on low-gravity gameplay. Episode 4 was the first without Nommy around, but I managed to find just the chap to keep things… [Continue Reading]

Altering the Invisible Man.

The Spy, a class of deceit, subterfuge, and sabotage. He holds in his arsenal: a knife capable of killing anything in one hit, a gun in case he’s caught in a bad situation, an electro-sapper to destroy enemy fortifications, a disguise kit to seamlessly blend in with the enemy, and finally a collection of watches capable of rendering him completely invisible. Those watches are pivotal to everything the spy can do. His disguise kit is useless without being in the right position; a position only reachable by an invisible man. His knife only has strength from behind. How can he… [Continue Reading]
