Farming for Kuva

Farming for Kuva is one of the most tedious things in Warframe ever. There are few things on the same level as Kuva farming. Defection and the Infested Salvage mission to farm for Nidus mostly. But at least the reward of getting Nidus is totally worth it, and once you have that lone Harrow part, you can ignore Defection completely. The farm for Ivara might be tedious but Spy missions are always good to learn, considering they’re common in Sorties. Kuva though, it’s a resource in multiple weapons and you need a TON of it for re-rolling riven mods. Kuva… [Continue Reading]

On The New Kuva Survival

As soon as the update hit, I knew exactly what would happen. People coming out in droves screaming that this “Kuva in the Kuva Fortress” mission doesn’t give enough Kuva and that it’s not very good and that DE should be ashamed of themselves. That was exactly what happened. That and a few bugs – Kuva not being saved to your inventory at the end of the mission and being unable to farm more Kuva, but I think they’ve been ironed out already. The mission is simple. On Taveuni, the Survival mission on the Kuva Fortress, enemies can now drop… [Continue Reading]

On 28 March 2018, TF2 received an update

And in it came a bunch of matchmaking changes, balancing and bug fixes. For one, Competitive mode now uses CS: GO’s Glicko skill rating system for matchmaking, which should help ensure that the matches are more balanced. Aside from that, The ranks in Competitive has been changed from 18 ranks to 13. Aside from that, Competitive Matchmaking Passes are now US$ 9.99. Non-pass holders need to be at least Casual level 3, be a Premium user and have a valid phone number associated to the account, which should hopefully reduce the amount of hackers in Competitive mode by raising the… [Continue Reading]

A List of Things I’d Like for Clan Dojos

Since I recently got promoted to clan architect, I’ve been wanting to build stuff in the dojo but there’s so many little things that bother me. So I thought I’d be constructive and post a list of things that I’d really like added or changed. Because the Dojo Remaster really wasn’t that amazing, all it did was, aside from giving everyone a bunch of Grineer and Corpus resources that already existed in-game, give you Captura-style free camera and the same settings you get to move things around on your Orbiter. First things first, contributing to things. Everything needs to be… [Continue Reading]

Reflections In Soup

In my first article for SPUF on 100 Bullets, I gave the run-down on Agent Graves and his mysterious offer of retribution-without-consequences (via the titular case of untraceable ammunition, and a file of dirt on the scumbag who ruined your life) (It’s worth seeking 100 Bullets out and giving it a read – you can read a bit about it here and get it on Amazon over here.). I said something about Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso – the team who (along with Dave Johnson on the covers) brings the world of 100 Bullets to dynamic, cynical life. There’s more to say,… [Continue Reading]

On Mastery Tests

I hate Mastery Tests. You need to do one every time you level up your Mastery Rank. The tests range from anything between “do this super short obstacle course” to “kill a bunch of enemies without dying using just one weapon type” to “stealth kill all these enemies who cause you to lose a life should they even catch a glimpse of you and you’re not allowed anything but a melee weapon, no abilities either.” There’s one for every rank, from Mastery Rank 1 to Mastery Rank 25, with new mastery ranks and tests being released when there’s enough items… [Continue Reading]

The Darkness II Available For Free!

The Humble Bundle is having a two-day giveaway for The Darkness II! It’s been two years since Jackie Estacado used The Darkness to kill the men responsible for his girlfriend’s murder. He’s been unable to shake the memory of Jenny’s death since bottling up his supernatural power and now The Darkness wants out. A sudden, unprovoked attack by a mysterious organization known as the Brotherhood heralds the start of a full-scale war and opens the door for The Darkness to reemerge, setting Jackie on a journey to hell and worse. I haven’t personally played The Darkness, but I do know of… [Continue Reading]

A Blaze Restrained – Ember and Chroma Nerfs and an Opinion

In the recent Shrines of the Eidolon update, there was a ton of buffs to both weapons and Warframes. There were also some nerfs though. Mainly in the form of Chroma and Ember, two rather popular Warframes, one of which is due a Primed frame and one of which is currently unvaulted for a short period of time. Chroma’s nerf changed the way he used his buffs. Basically, the way his abilities worked, he would multiply both his armour and his damage by a certain amount (based on how much shield and health damage he’d taken) and this multiplication would… [Continue Reading]

Gang Beasts – The Good, the Bad and the Insane

A while back, Gang Beasts left Early Access and became an officially released game on Steam. There were lots of changes, but not everyone seems to think they were all good. As for me? Well, it’s good and bad. As a casual player who only plays with fellow casual morons who can barely work an XBOX controller, it’s worth pointing out what some of these good and bad things are. The Good There are a fuck ton of costumes now, as well as the ability to completely customize your little drunk idiot of a character. A lot of them have… [Continue Reading]

I Attended IEM Oakland!

Hi everybody! I’ve been a bit silent on the blog recently, mostly been working on my first quarter of schoolwork at the UCSC Games & Playable Media Master’s program. It’s a lot of work, but it’s very rewarding, and I’ll be updating you all as soon as the quarter ends and I can catch my breath. One of my favorite parts of the program are the other students; they’re all  driven game developers who look out for each other, and love to play board/video games together! Several of them are frequent Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players, and recently we got the exciting… [Continue Reading]
