On Keeping The Daily SPUF Free

Recently, I’ve had a surge of people emailing me, looking to send us “sponsored articles”. The idea is simple. We publish an article that is basically an advert, with a link to whatever the hell it is they’re selling. And they’d pay us money to do so. Now, we don’t get that many reviews, but clearly we are doing something that is making people want to get in touch. However, so far, I’ve turned down every single offer. Why? Because, well, several reasons. Firstly, let’s actually look at the costs. Ever since we moved to SPUF.org, I’ve been paying for… [Continue Reading]

Writing an Article with the ‘Gutenberg’ WordPress Block Editor

So I’ve discussed the Gutenberg Block Editor on WordPress before. The Block Editor is a feature that cam with WordPress version 5.0, which was supposed to completely transform the way you write and build your pages. Clearly WordPress was starting to realise that a large part of their market consisted of people who used WordPress to make actual websites, rather than just blogging and writing. I mean, that’s understandable. In a way. People want to be innovative with their products. But innovation isn’t always a good thing. And the innovation behind the Block Editor is starting to show itself as… [Continue Reading]

Who The Fuck IS Nora Night?

There are tons of mysterious entities in Warframe. From Erra, the Sentient brother of the Lotus, to Onkko and the Quills, all the way to Paladino, Ergo Glast and the Syndicate leaders, we have a lot of crazies. All these strange people who easily communicate with us. Some of these beings only appear once in quests. Or they appear in snapshots and visions, like Erra and the Man in the Wall. But there’s one person who came out from absolutely nowhere. I know we’ve talked about Nightwave a lot lately, but we need to have a look at Nora Night.… [Continue Reading]

Nightwave Season 3 Is Basically Already Finished

As of this week, if you have done every single Nightwave task so far, you’ve probably reached level 30. If you have done most of them and skipped a few dailies, then level 30 should be available next week. It’s been, what, five weeks? And Nightwave Season 3 is basically already finished if you play regularly. So, how was it? Meh. Overall, I’d give this season a solid meh/10. It’s nice that we got enemies to farm extra standing from right off the bat, but, if I’m truly honest, this might as well been more of Nightwave Intermission 2. There… [Continue Reading]

The Throwback Challenge Champion Research 2020 Sucks

A while back, I praised the various regional Throwback challenges in Pokemon Go. They consisted of simple tasks. Each one rewarded Pokemon from that region. And we got a cool legendary at the end with an exclusive move. If you completed all of the regional throwback challenges, then you were rewarded with the Throwback Challenge Champion research. Frankly? The research is a massive let down, compared to the regional tasks. A Lot of Work for Little Reward Almost all the tasks in the Champion Research were somewhat draining. Almost everything in the research needed doing lots of times. Feed your… [Continue Reading]

The New Corpus Ship Tileset

The biggest part of the Deadlock Protocol update was a complete remodeling of the Corpus ship tileset. Corpus ships are the oldest maps in the game, to the point that literally every mission was originally on a Corpus ship. Even Grineer missions. Clearly, something so obviously old needed a do-over. So the Corpus tileset was remastered completely and utterly, while also providing more of a look into Corpus lore. And, of course, being a new, shiny thing, I have a lot of comments about it. Speaking of which, it’s all very shiny. Almost… too shiny. Very, very grandiose. These ships… [Continue Reading]

A Ramble About Animation Sets – Which Animation Sets are Good or Bad

Animation sets are an interesting little idea. Each frame has their own personality, their own way that they stand. While the way a frame holds a weapon or idles is simple, it does make every frame more unique. We always get two: an agile and a noble animation set. And, over time, these animation sets have become more fancy. But the more interesting thing is that you can purchase these. You can buy a set and apply it on any frame you like. Of course, some of these are more more popular than others. And, of course, I have a… [Continue Reading]

The Ability To Rewind Time For Yourself Yet You Don’t Need It

Protea exploded into existence in the Deadlock Protocol, apparently created especially for Parvos Granum, the founder of the Corpus. That sentence becomes more and more worrying when you consider that Parvos spent a lot of time with Protea, made Specters out of her and the fact that she can manipulate time. But how is Protea? Is she any good? The farm is easy, thankfully! For once, a Warframe is actually somewhat easy to farm. You get her blueprint from the Deadlock Protocol quest. Meanwhile, her component blueprints are rewards from the Granum Void. Each part has an 11% drop chance,… [Continue Reading]

On Suddenly Not Caring About This Murder Mystery

At the time of writing, I am at rank 26 of Nightwave. I just got my Umbral Forma which I will proceed to not use. Before that, I got my Warframe slot, which I used for Protea. The Nightwave tasks haven’t been too bad, aside from the headache caused by capturing a Hydralyst. But what about the whole murder mystery thing? I just don’t care. Well, that’s not 100% true. I do care a little bit. In fact, the fact that I manage to catch these early on has gotten us some nice views over on the SPUF of Legend.… [Continue Reading]

Weedle Community Day – Stardust Heaven

Weedle is the Pokemon that won last month’s Twitter vote, beating out the likes of Squirtle and Gastly. Mainly because we didn’t have a shiny Weedle yet, and people wanted something that hadn’t been in events. After all, we’d just had a bunch of Kanto events, not to mention party hat Gengar with two exclusive moves. Weedle’s shiny line is pretty cool, and it’s nice to get a Pokemon that didn’t have a shiny in the past. So, on June 20th, we got Weedle Community Day People weren’t THAT excited for Weedle Community Day. After all, it’s Weedle. It’s one… [Continue Reading]
