Avoid Sanctuary Onslaught for now…

Sanctuary Onslaught is a mess right now. The game mode that was supposed to be a horde mode where you kill literally everything simply isn’t working. It’s filled with bugs and all sorts, and the seven hotfixes we’ve seen since the game mode was released don’t seem to be making things any better. The bugs are pretty harsh. Host migrations will destroy all of your rewards, booting you back to your ship with no rewards at all or worse leaving you trapped on a loading screen for eternity with no way out aside from quitting the game. Issues with efficiency… [Continue Reading]

More Tips for Warframe Sorties

Sorties can be daunting. In doing them, you face enemies in tougher conditions than anywhere else on the star chart. The only places where enemies only start to compare are in the furthest parts of the Void, Kuva Floods, fighting Eidolons and Sentients and maaaaaaybe tier 5 bounties on the Plains of Eidolon. But luckily, I’m here with some more tips to doing sorties. Learn to Love Rolling Rolling is a Warframe’s best friend. Okay, really Sentinels are with their ability to suck loot towards you, but rolling is good too. Rolling gives you damage resistance. But more importantly if… [Continue Reading]

Things You Should NOT Take in Radiation Hazard and Radiation Elemental Enhancement Missions

Radiation Hazard and Radiation Elemental Enhancement Sorties sound fun in concept. Who wouldn’t find it fun to accidentally down your team mates in a funny moment of hilarity? It’s a zany idea! It’s just a bit of fun! No. No. It’s not. Radiation is not to be toyed with. Radiation Sorties will cut you in two. Radiation Sorties will eat your objective and spit failure in your face if you’re not careful. There are things you SHOULD NOT BRING TO SORTIES. In case you’re asking, I’m writing this because I just got out of a hellish Radiation Sortie mission. A… [Continue Reading]

Cetus Wisps are Cunts

Cetus Wisps. I hate them. I hate the little floating fuckers. They’re small and annoying and they seem to be required for fucking everything on the Plains of Eidolon. Most loot in the game is somewhat easy to farm, or at least is there to be found, and doesn’t play tricks on you or anything. How do you farm Cetus Wisps? You run around the Plains of Eidolon, following the edges of specific ponds and lakes, hoping that they spawn. They’ll appear as an icon on your minimap if you have Loot Detector, Animal Instinct or Thief’s Wit. They are… [Continue Reading]

Bumps in the Datascape, or why it’s worth waiting sometimes…

“Wow, Larunda’s busy today!” Volt exclaimed as he and Frost watched fellow Tenno go by. “I thought the Void Trader was at the Kronia relay?” “He is!” Frost tutted. “Everyone is coming here because they want to speak to Simaris and it’s slightly less busy here compared to Kronia.” “I know…” Volt shrugged. “I just assumed everyone would go to Kronia, kill two MOAs with one stone, right? Saves on fuel as well.” Frost glanced at Volt. “You have twenty million credits to your name and you’re worried about fuel costs?” “Hey, being careful is how I managed to get… [Continue Reading]

Sanctuary Onslaught – An Excuse to Kill Stuff

The Sanctuary Onslaught mission is now available to play. Cephalon Simaris, the orange AI who love getting all in your face, has invited you to his datascape in order to do some experiments for him. He offers you two difficulties, a normal version and an ‘elite’ version, which is just a fancy way of saying hard mode, with much higher level enemies. Simaris wants to do tests in efficiency and lethality, and up until now, he has been recreating battles inside his Sanctuary in order to study how quickly and efficiently things die. But after so many tests, he wants… [Continue Reading]

Terror in the Locker Room

The Crewman could hear lockers opening. He had finished his shift and was going to head down to the canteen for lunch. He needed to drop off his weapon and change out of his suit. Someone else was in there though, clanging and banging around. Rather than just barge in, the Crewman decided to sneak in and see what was going on. As he peered around the corner, the Crewman felt a tingle in the air. Like miniature electric shocks. There was a Warframe in the locker room. A brightly coloured one. A weird cape around its backside, rings around… [Continue Reading]

Warframe without Warframes

Warframes are ugly. Corpus and Grineer are ugly. Most of the human beings in Warframe are ugly as fuck. Even the cats and dogs can be absolutely hideous if you get unlucky. When you think about it, most living things in Warframe are really horrible, the result of hundreds, if not thousands of years of everything going to hell in a hand basket. You have endless wars between the Grineer and Corpus, you have the Infested biting at everyone’s heels and the few normal outposts filled with normal human beings generally have something terrorizing them every night. No wonder they’re… [Continue Reading]

Tips for Kuva Survival

Kuva Survival is the cool new thing, or at least it will be for a while until the new Sanctuary Assault game mode comes out in an upcoming update. It’s a nice blend between the normal sameness of normal Survival with a hint of Extraction thrown in, with the plus side that you don’t need to grab a billion power cores, you just need one to start extracting Kuva. Here are some tips for going into Kuva Survival, one of the highest outside of the Void and Sortie missions. Bring enemies to you Ideally, you want all the enemies to… [Continue Reading]

On Sound Cues

Playing Left 4 Dead 2 recently made me realize something. The sounds and music in that game and its predecessor Left 4 Dead 1 are absolutely amazing. Really, the more I think about it, the more I feel the sound direction is what ties the game together and gives both the game and the player direction without being in your face. You see, in Left 4 Dead, there’s not a huge amount of actual music. All the music comes from the many sound cues from your environments as you walk by. You know when there’s a tank coming, not just… [Continue Reading]
