A Grineer’s Lunch

Volt hid in the shadows and waited patiently. He wasn’t a stealthy sort of Warframe, but there he was, doing a stealth mission, because why not? It wasn’t like Volt had anything better to do right now, and he wanted to test out his new silent blast Sonicor, so again, why not? He had been making good progress so far. Lots of rather scattered enemies meant that Volt could take each one out at his own pace. This mission was supposed to have been an exterminate mission, but mass slaughter didn’t need to be done swiftly. Sometimes Volt wanted to… [Continue Reading]

A Morgue of Files

Being someone who uses a lot of images in their line of work, I need a source of stock images, preferably free ones, that I can use without being sued. But I also need images that are actually genuinely good and interesting and preferably not shit. All the images used in this article are pictures downloaded from one particular stock photo website – Morguefile. Over the years, I’ve used loads of sites. Originally, I would just use Google Images, using the option that filters images via usage rights. It’s SUPPOSED to filter out images that have copyrights and keep in… [Continue Reading]

INSTANT CAKE MIX IS CHEATING

I’m in a bad mood. I’ve been looking up easy home-made cake recipes. I have been cheated. Half the recipes I have found have been instant cake mix plus the standard ingredients you need to make said instant cake mix. This is not baking. This is cheating. Now, I’m not saying that instant cake mix is evil and should be banned. Instant cake mix is a lazy, silly thing to have, considering that a cake 99% of the time is flour, sugar, eggs and a fat of some sort. Plus some baking powder. So spending money on a ready-made mixture… [Continue Reading]

Last Goodbyes

Today, Monday the 5th of June 2017, is the day SPUF dies. No one will ever be able to post ever again. Today’s article contains the goodbye notes from various SPUFers throughout the ages, serving as a goodbye to the forum some of us have spent years posting on. For some SPUFers, it was just a place to hang out, for others, it was a source of inspiration, for others still, it was full of advice and nice, community things. Either way, SPUF was a great place and it’s a shame to see it go. “SPUF had a good run… [Continue Reading]

The Joys of CSS

No, I’m not talking about Counter-Strike: Source. I’m talking about Cascading Style Sheets. Cascading Style Sheets, better known as CSS, is a language used to make other languages look prettier. More specifically, it tells your web browser what a web page should look like. Even more specifically, CSS tells specific elements in your HTML what they should look like. Using CSS, you can make a background any colour you want, you can make text bigger and smaller, you can make links change colour when you hover and click on them, you can create menus, make pages mobile-friendly,  you can make… [Continue Reading]

A Theory on Samurai Jack

Been a while since we had a SPUF of Legend video that came with a Daily SPUF article! We were supposed to make these transcripts for every episode, or write a tie-in article that incorporates the latest episode, but we kinda never do so we’re looking for any suggestions on better ways to integrate The SPUF of Legend with the blog proper. Got any suggestions? Let us know in the comments! This week we’re doing something a little different because my recording software has been a finnicky little twit for about two weeks now, and I can’t figure out why so… [Continue Reading]

Escaping the Stalker

Volt hated Spy missions. He hated them with a passion. Not because Volt couldn’t hack, in fact, Volt had mastered hacking pretty quickly. He didn’t mind the sneaking either, he actively enjoyed being sneaky at times. No, Volt hated Spy missions because of all those stupid energy fields and sensors and cameras and stuff that the Grineer and Corpus always chucked around their stupid vaults. Why couldn’t they just be in rooms with locked doors that needed to be hacked, rather than stupid jumping puzzles that required Volt to stop running, slow down and start doing stupid backflips and stuff… [Continue Reading]

Equestria is a Horrible Place

Like many of my articles, this one was inspired by a conversation I once had with aabicus. Now, we’ve mentioned this before, but aabicus has his fingers in many, many different pies, one of them being the MMO called Legends of Equestria, and we’ve even had an announcement for it here. Of course, being a My Little Pony thing, aabicus needs to get his head into all of that, create himself a pony for play-testing and have a decent understanding of its history and lore so he can write quests for it. For a franchise designed to sell toys to… [Continue Reading]

Rings (3) – A Review

Today, we’re going to talk about something slightly different. A movie. I actually watch quite a lot of movies but I don’t often review them because I forget to. Rings, or Rings 3 as it was marketed here in Cyprus, is an attempt to break that forgetfulness. But also because 1. I saw Rings on Valentines Day with my siblings and 2. there’s something off about the whole thing. Also the fricking subtitle “Evil Is Reborn” gives away the entire film. Nice one, marketing people. That being said, I’m going to try and avoid spoilers, but if you want to… [Continue Reading]
