An Ode to Ordis, for real

Ordis is a ship Cephalon and the AI controlling your home, the Orbiter, in Warframe. Damaged and slightly crazy, Ordis makes sure that everything is okay and refers to you as the Operator. He is the fourth being you’ll ever meet (after your Warframe, the Lotus and Captain Vor), and he’ll always be with you. Forever and ever. Because Ordis cares about you and will happily die for you if he has to. But not many people care about Ordis. His repeating lines, his bad humor, his error-induced puns, his violent outburts and that damn Grineer not-a-number witticism often drive… [Continue Reading]

A Different Sort of Review – The NES Classic Mini

Sometimes, we review weird things, but these things are mostly just games and the occasional visual novel or movie. Me in particular, I am not the sort of person to review anything Nintendo related. But for my dad’s birthday, we got him a Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Mini. My dad grew up with games like Super Mario and all that. Mostly just Super Mario to be honest, but Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and Double Dragon were also there. As he grew older, he moved onto the FIFA football games and the Tekken series. These days, he sees even games like… [Continue Reading]

Playing Warframe with Siblings

This is an article I never thought I’d be able to write. For the longest of times, I was always told to try out the games they liked (e.g. Dead Island, Borderlands) but the same suggestions never worked when I made them. Yes, I am slightly obsessed with Warframe, the same way I go through phases of obsession with Skyrim and other games. But my brother and sister never ever wanted to play with me. In fact, the only way I could get them to play was via the power of the Birthday Rule. Basically, the Birthday Rule states two… [Continue Reading]

The Crone’s Dome VS the Point and Shoot!

The magic users of TF2 have long been plagued by this dilemma. Which wizard hat is the ultimate in spell-caster fashion, the charmed headwear to bewitch the eyes of others? Well, let’s look at two of them and then declare a winner with as much authority as a kindergarten kid has on international politics. First up, the Crone’s Dome. A community-created hat added during the Spectral Halloween Special, it’s a black witch hat with patches and a large, wide and floppy brim, plus a glowing face in front. If you’re not a fan of black you can paint the hat into… [Continue Reading]

Modding Skyrim

Here’s a question for everyone. How many of you have modded Skyrim? Going along with that, how many of you have actually beaten Skyrim (i.e. the main questline)? I have a feeling that the number of people who’ve done the latter is smaller than the former. Why would this be? Well simply, Skyrim belongs the mods! Going into more specifics, there are tons of mods out there to customise Skyrim to be how you want it. Whether that’s playing as a new species, changing the environment to a tropical paradise, or downloading those 18+ mods (and you people know who… [Continue Reading]

Weird things that happen when Warframe gets laggy

Lag is a universal thing. Everyone can get a bad internet connection simply because we’re lazy, cheap beings who can’t ever do anything properly. Luckily for me and my shitty connection and overall bad location in general, Warframe is actually somewhat playable, even up to 300+ ping. Which happens sometimes, because each mission is peer-to-peer, rather than it all being hosted on one server. That being said, strange things can happen when your connection starts bouncing around. Doors Stop Opening By far the most common issue is when doors, which are reliant on the host’s connection, start to falter. At… [Continue Reading]

Reddit Admins are planning to remove custom CSS from subreddits. That’s stupid.

Ah, good old CSS. Cascading Style Sheets. CSS is beautiful. It can do so much stuff. It’s what makes the internet a beautiful place. CSS allows the customization of pretty much any site, works mostly the same on the majority of browsers (and almost always has workarounds for backwards bastard browsers like Internet Explorer) and that’s all it does. CSS makes things pretty. CSS is the language of style. Unlike HTML, Javascript or anything else, 99% of the time CSS keeps its coding claws out of actual content and focuses solely on looks. CSS allows me to make the Night… [Continue Reading]

The Cities of Skyrim

In my eternal struggle to find games that grab me, I find myself playing Skyrim and wandering around in its frozen wastelands, large forests, mammoth-filled plains, more frozen wastelands and a few other nice territories scattered around the place. I’ve gone and talked about the hellhole that is Markarth, but I’ve never got around to really talking about the other major cities. So let’s do that! We start off with Whiterun and its small village Riverwood. This is your first point of safety in the game after escaping Helgen and the scary black dragon. It’s a nice place mostly, with… [Continue Reading]

Farming for Credits

Even space ninjas need money. Okay, they’re not using their money to buy groceries and things like that. They’re most likely throwing it away buying and leveling up weapons they don’t really need in order to reach their next mastery rank, but still. They use money. They need it. Vast amounts of it. I mean, come on, a single forma costs like 20k credits to build. But where can a space ninja get all this money? Most normal missions only reward up to about 7k credits at a time, and unless you’re a Nekros with Desecrate and a Secura Lecta,… [Continue Reading]

7 Ways to Improve the Operator

I still hate those damn space kids. Right now, they’re a horrible waste of pixels and I hate them and their stupid, hypocritical observations. Yes, the Corpus are greedy, but we’re space ninja mercenaries killing them to get a stupid barrel for a shiny new gun, so get off your damn high horse. That being said, the Operators could all be improved. Here are some ways we can do that.   Level up Operators the same way you level up Warframes. Operators should start at unranked and get to level 30. By using your Operator, you should level him or… [Continue Reading]
