The New Jackal Boss Fight Is Boring

As part of the Corpus remaster, we got an unexpected boss rework. While you’d expect that the Sergeant, bless his heart, would be the target, you’d be wrong. In fact, our boss remaster goes to the Jackal. The Jackal was always a simple boss fight. It consisted of shooting the Jackal and not getting blown up by rockets. Since it was the first boss fight in the game after Captain Vor, it was worth redoing, right? Eh, I dunno. The new fight is just as simple. Okay, so, after a fancy cinematic in which a small MOA needlessly dies, you’re… [Continue Reading]

Doing Lich Missions With An Under-Leveled Warframe

For reasons unknown, I have decided to start forma-ing my original Volt. The one I started the game with. Despite being inches away from Mastery Rank 29, I still have him. Even though I have a perfectly serviceable Volt Prime. That little Volt got me through the early game, so I feel like I want to give something back to him. By forma-ing him to perfection. But because I’m stubborn, I didn’t want to just level up Volt on Hydron or Elite Sanctuary Onslaught. I just decided to take him on my day to day business. So I decided to… [Continue Reading]

Stupid Tips for Pokemon Go’s GBL

It’s pretty clear to me that I’m not the only person who hates the GBL. The handful of articles I’ve written about the Go Battle League constantly pop up with more views than average. In fact, my article about giving up on the GBL completely is one of the more highly-commented and viewed articles on the site. But enough negativity. the GBL is here to stay, so we might as well try and get something from it. Suck it up and use the same fucking meta all the fucking time. Just use meta Pokemon. Get yourself an Azumaril, get yourself… [Continue Reading]

The Deadlock Protocol Quest Is Pretty Fun

We haven’t had a decent Warframe quest in ages. The last ones we got were for Revenant and Excalibur Umbra, but they weren’t exactly… amazing, fun Warframe quests. Excalibur Umbra in the Sacrifice is more of a continuation of the War Within and involves a lot of the Operator. Revenant’s quest is barely a quest. But The Deadlock Protocol feels like a return to the old Warframe quest days, with the polish of modern, shiny Warframe. The Deadlock Protocol is Sands of Inaros, but for the modern era. It’s also a pretty fun quest. Also, spoilers ahead! Go play the… [Continue Reading]

On Having A Lack of Points of Interest

The way Pokestops work in Pokemon Go is that they exist on real-world locations. These locations are called Waypoints or Points of Interest. Most of these have been nominated by local communities, because, well, they’re points of interest. Many of these Pokestops tend to be things in reality that are pretty cool. Things you’d point to and say “look at that!” Of course, with the option for the general public to submit Pokestop nominations, you’re going to get people submitting, well, crap. Which means that people reviewing the nominations have to, well, review that crap. It’s a pretty regular thing… [Continue Reading]

What if I Had Picked Excalibur or Mag as my Starter Frame?

We all know me as that annoyingly yellow Volt. Half the pictures of Warframe include a very specific Volt Prime with yellow as its main colour and blue metallic bits. I was actually lucky and was mostly given Volt Prime early on, back when he was a cheap frame. But even now, I still use both Volt Prime and normal Volt. Somehow, just somehow, Volt does everything I want to do in a single Warframe. But what if I had picked a different starter frame? Would I still be here today? Let’s look at both alternatives, one at a time.… [Continue Reading]

Retvik’s Ridiculous Ramble on How To Fix Riven Mods

Simply put, Rivens are bad. They’re a horrible system of RNG. It’s pretty much impossible to get what you want. Not without either huge amounts of luck OR Platinum or, really, both. Rivens are simply random mods for random weapons, 80% of which are unwanted. And as for the other 20%? They fare no better, either getting nerfed later due to disposition or being borderline broken. Most of the time though, Rivens just suck. Luckily, I have a solution. Actually, I have two solutions. But we need to discuss the problems first! Alright, there are two problems here. The first… [Continue Reading]

A Little Look At Pokemon Spawns Near My Home

I’ve been doing some… experimenting lately. I’ve actually been leaving my game open in Pokemon Go for long periods of time. Originally, I was just trying to hatch eggs. Using something called GPS Drift, your avatar in Pokemon Go will wander around, even if you don’t move. But this movement isn’t pointless. With enough patience, you can use it to hatch eggs! And, if you have really shoddy GPS, you can also get the 50km walking milestone. But as I had my game open, I noticed some things. Namely, how Pokemon spawn around me. I have one spawn at my… [Continue Reading]

I Wish My Pokemon Go Buddy Was Permanent

We’ve been able to have a buddy in Pokemon Go for a really long time. Your buddy adventures alongside you, collecting candies when you’ve walked specific distances. The new buddy system added last year however allows you to have your buddy out in the real world. They actually get to explore the map with you! However, like all good things, there’s a cost. You need to feed your Pokemon berries, to make them motivated. That totally sucks. I wish my Pokemon Go buddy was permanent! Or, at the very least, a toggle you can turn on and off. And frankly,… [Continue Reading]

I Don’t Like Saryn

I’ve never particularly liked Saryn, both as a frame to play as and a frame to play with. Saryn is probably the ultimate nuker, destroying rooms with ease. And because of her damage combinations, she does it better than anyone else. To the point that two Saryns are detrimental together, and things like Elite Sanctuary Onslaught become trivial. Saryn kills with ease. Before level 40 though, even a lowly modded Saryn can still nuke maps by pressing 4. Any time, as long as there’s some enemies around, Saryn can spread spores around and do massive Corrosive damage to enemies. With… [Continue Reading]
