Finding and Fighting the Wolf of Saturn Six

You know that whole Nightwave thing? The thing about a Wolf? A Wolf of Saturn Six? Yeah, there’s a guy called the Wolf and he has a bunch of buddies and we need to kill or capture them all. Occasionally. That’s the whole theme of this Nightwave event. Kinda. While we do random tasks to please Nora Night, there’s a chance that Saturn Six Prisoners might spawn. You murder these guys and capture them like, well, capture targets. But occasionally, you might get a visit from the Wolf himself. When I say “occasionally”, I mean insanely rarely. By insanely rarely,… [Continue Reading]

Death of the Cetus Wisp – The Plains of Eidolon Remaster

Boom! Mainline update almost out of nowhere. Sure, we were told that a remaster for the Plains of Eidolon, but we weren’t really told about the details of it. Most of the changes are to the Plains themselves, improving LODs (levels of detail), adding more trees and making the Plains more friendly to K-Drives, so people bored of Fortuna and the Orb Vallis can tear shit up in the Plains instead. Conservation was added to the Plains, alongside a new little creature which I swear is a cross between the current birds and mice you already find on the Plains.… [Continue Reading]

The Terrifying World of Pokemon Go

When you think about it, Pokemon Go is actually a somewhat terrifying game. Well, it’s terrifying when you think about things too hard, which is what I’ve been doing lately. The premise of Pokemon Go is simple – Pokemon are escaping the Pokemon universe and appearing in our universe. First it was affecting Kanto only, but it’s been spreading, and now Pokemon from the Hoenn, Johto and Sinnoh regions are appearing as well. They’re basically invading our universe. In the mean time, us mere humans have been fighting back in the only way we know how – by capturing and… [Continue Reading]

A Risk of Rain

Risk of Rain was a game I never really fancied playing. I had seen people play it on streams, but the idea of a 2D shooter game with elements of platforming and random items never appealed to me. A 2D game with all that, which started hard and only got more difficult, made Risk of Rain a game I’d probably avoid. But somehow, you put Risk of Rain into a 3D environment and suddenly I’m having fun. Brother recommended that I try Risk of Rain 2, simply because it was 1+1 free, and him and sister were already going to… [Continue Reading]

On the Personalities of Massive Robot Spider Things

So far there are two massive, four-legged spider robot things that are active and angry in the Orb Vallis. The Profit-Taker Orb spends most of her life hanging around the Enrichment Center in the center of the Vallis while the Exploiter Orb is much more active, roaming around the Temple of Profit with a small army of Coolant Raknoids. Both of these weird spider robot things though have personalities. Very different ones. The Profit-Taker Orb’s personality doesn’t really appear until you do the four heists that are tied to her destruction. Whenever you encounter her outside of the four heist… [Continue Reading]

Ember and the Helpful Stranger

The little Ember sent her message again, knowing that it would be ignored. Her message entered the Recruitment Channel and swiftly disappeared, pushed aside by a stream of other messages all saying things she didn’t understand. “LF AXI L3” “H 4X3 NEED HARROW” “LF PROFITTAKER” “H ESO 3/4” None of it made any sense to the little Ember. She just wanted some help, but the Cephalon from the Global Channel had sent her here. Suddenly, something beeped. A communication. A private one. Another Tenno had messaged Ember directly. “Heya, do you still need help?” Ember beamed as she hastily replied.… [Continue Reading]

Castform Community Day

Castforms! Castforms everywhere! Normal, stumpy little Castforms! Little teardrop-like, cloud-shaped bastards with little bollocks for feet! Castform was one of the first Pokemon I caught when I started playing Pokemon Go, so I have a slight fondness for the cute little bollock cloud, bollock sun, bollock raindrop and bollock snowflake. And yesterday’s Castform Community Day was a lot of fun! Wait, what’s that? It wasn’t a Castform Community Day? It was a Lotad Community Research Day? Well I wouldn’t have guessed, considering how many Castforms were spawning and how many of them were shiny. Unfortunately for Castform, only the normal… [Continue Reading]

Writing VS Roleplaying

Who’d have thought that there was an actual difference between writing and roleplaying? Well, a lot of people, really. Those who read the Daily SPUF regularly might know that I do a lot of writing. By “a lot”, I mean at least 500 words a day, often more, and have been doing so for the last 3 years. Lately, I’ve been doing 1000+ words a day simply because someone around here has to keep the Daily SPUF daily rather than weekly. In fact, this desperation to make sure that the Daily SPUF has an article published every single day means… [Continue Reading]

Fashionframe at Mastery Rank 26

The coolest people are always the people who are at, or close to, max rank. Or the people who have money to spend on cosmetics. Namely Tennogen, which costs real-world money and can’t be traded for. But really, the higher the level you are, the more likely that you’ll have better, more distinctive looks. So theoretically, someone at Mastery Rank 26 should have awesome fashion frame skills, right? Right? Wrong. The proof is right here. I’m a MR26 player, have been for about two months now, but if you looked at me, you wouldn’t know it. In fact (unless you… [Continue Reading]

The Warframe That Identifies as an Attack Helicopter

I feel so sorry for Zephyr. While her Primed self is one of the loveliest things in the game, the original air- and flying-based Warframe just doesn’t do much flying. First, there was Wukong and his cloud form. Then there was Titania, with the ability to turn into a tiny, Archwing pixie at will. And now there’s Hildryn, the brand new Warframe which identifies as an attack helicopter and can fly far better than Zephyr ever could. But Hildryn has a lot of other nice things tucked underneath those rippling, chunky muscles of hers, as well as a lot of… [Continue Reading]
