On Focus 2 and Focus 2.5

When the Plains of Eidolon were released, so was something else. A complete do-over of the Focus schools, the ability trees your Space Kids use. They were reworked and changed up. Everyone got all their Focus points back to spend in the new schools. The themes of each school remain the same. Unairu is based on tankiness. Naramon focuses on death and melee. Zenurik remains the go-to for all your energy needs. Each school has a combination of passive abilities for Operators (e.g. extra armour, extra movement speed, extra energy regeneration), passive abilities for Warframes and Operators (extra armour, extra… [Continue Reading]

MONITOR

I came across this on Steam some time ago. I was looking around for something to pass my time and picked this up and another free new Steam release. I am pretty sure that I either completely miss the point of the other game or it’s just that bad, so I’ll just be talking about this one instead. In MONITOR: The Game, you play as the Journalist, who somehow ended up in a dingy little room with a filthy mattress and monitoring equipment. You are tasked with listening on the conversations in the Lynx’s Crown, the getaway retreat of the… [Continue Reading]

Five Songs To Calm One Down

There’s always noise in my head. Always someone talking. Always a conversation. Always a mess of things. There’s almost always some music there as well. The noise doesn’t stop until I go to sleep. But sometimes the noise is so loud that I can’t sleep. So I need some nice, calm, real world music to listen to. So here are five songs which calm me down, and I hope do the same for you. 5. Secunda, TESV Skyrim Soundtrack This song is a fairly obvious one, a track I mentioned in my list of video game songs that I enjoy.… [Continue Reading]

Happy New Year 2018!

Oh hey. It’s 2018. 2017 was fun and all that (depending on what country you’re in currently) but it’s time to move on and look to the future and all that. We’ve got a fresh new year ahead of us and we really shouldn’t let 2017 drag us all down. Things are going to get better! So what does 2018 have in store for us? Games, probably. I honestly haven’t looked up any upcoming games. There’s not been much that’s interested me lately. And honestly there’s a bunch of click bait videos on Youtube that will more likely get you… [Continue Reading]

A Story About My Uncle

After playing Just Cause 2, I had a bit of a grappling hook addiction. It was ended by Mannpower Mode in TF2, but before that I was still looking for games to scratch that grappling hook itch. I can’t remembered how I first came across this game. I got it as a gift from my IRL friend for Christmas (I think, it’s been some time), and I spent a fair bit of time playing around when I got it. Recently, I saw it again while looking through my Steam library for something to play (I know I know, first world… [Continue Reading]

On Deluxe Skins and Tennogen

In Warframe, there are four types of cosmetics – syandanas, flowing capes that sit on one’s back; armour sets which go on your Warframe’s legs, arms and chest; alternate helmets for each Warframe and Warframe skins, which change the appearance and texture of your Warframe. All these cosmetics are available in three forms – available for purchase with Platinum, the in-game currency; only available in specific bundles or Prime Access; or available for purchase via Steam through a service called Tennogen. Recently, a ton of new skins were released, often for under-appreciated characters. Nehza (the awkward result of what would… [Continue Reading]

Falsified Fenrir

On the 20th of September, I was saltier than the North Sea. Now that I’ve just finished calming down, I’ll begin to explain why. Fenrir is my world-ending, god-mauling, nightmare-inducing baby. So the knowledge that an Odyssey skin was coming out for him got me pretty excited. We were shown a surprise glimpse near the end of the Summer of SMITE trailer, it was blatantly cut that way since they saw it as the highlight, as did I. It was the moment we all flipped the nearest table at our earliest convenience. The skins are only on-screen for a grand… [Continue Reading]

aabicus at College: An Update

Hi everyone! I’ve been almost completely silent on both the forums and this blog, and I apologize for that, but as I mentioned in this video, I’ve been attending a Master’s program in Game Design, and it’s been loads of work. Luckily it’s been amazing and enjoyable work, and I’ve just wrapped up my first (and supposedly the busiest) quarter. It has been so great getting to explore so many different elements of game design in an academic setting! This article is basically a compilation of what I’ve been doing the last four months, and a bit of discussion on… [Continue Reading]

First impressions of the Smissmass 2017 Cosmetics

The Smissmass 2017 update dropped recently, and if any of you actually believed that there aren’t any cosmetics with this updates you must be from 2007. There are also some new taunts released with the update, but that isn’t my business to care. I am only here to look at the new hats. And as per usual, I’ll just wait a few days for the prices to drop, then get the ones I like on the SCM. It’s a lot more convenient than using the trading system. Sledder’s Sidekick AHHH IT’S A PUPPY LOOK AT IT IT’S SO FLUFFY AND… [Continue Reading]

A Bonus Unlikely Story – The Scared Excalibur

“An Equinox, an Ivara and a newbie Excalibur head to a bar!” the black and red Ash grinned as he dropped down from an unprotected vent. “Well, the other two bullet jump in, the Excalibur just walks…” “Don’t make fun of the newbie,” the equally edgy black and red Ivara tutted. “Not his fault he’s literally just escaped from Vor’s influence.” “Well, he’s only going to hold us back!” Ash’s mood dropped. “This is a spy mission after all! A Spy mission on a Grineer ship of all things. Isn’t the place for a newbie Excalibur!” Again, Ivara tutted. “We’re… [Continue Reading]
