Fate Grand Order – The Waifu Simulator

If you’re looking for a game you can play for a few minutes a day, then maybe Fate/Grand Order is the game for you. Fate/Grand Order is a Japanese mobage (mobile game) that uses characters from the Fate franchise. Starting off, this game is only available in Japanese. Although it contains some English here and there, you can’t depend on this to guide you. Because of this, you need to memorize the menus and buttons and what they do to do anything in this game. This isn’t too hard, as you don’t need to worry about a good portion of… [Continue Reading]

Your first TF2 games

I was going through my unfinished articles. I hate all of them. But one of them is a gigantic, unfinished guide on everything you need to know about being a newbie to TF2. One day, I do plan on finishing that (when Competitive Matchmaking leaves beta, I guess), but for now, I’ll work on it occasionally. But for now, let’s think about those first few games of yours. The ideal first few games would be quite simple. You play the tutorial for Soldier, you play the second part with the bots, then maybe you play a training game with easy… [Continue Reading]

Mac-10 & Cheese

Recently I talked about my brother’s primary weapon in his airsoft loadout, the SCAR rifle. His backup weapon is the Mac-10 SMG, which has an equally-illustrious career in video game history: The MAC-10 is an extremely compact submachine gun capable of spraying a truly devastating stream of bullets in a very inaccurate cone. This is not a sharpshooter’s weapon. Because of its high damage and compact frame, it has a reputation for being a criminal weapon, often appearing in the hands of villainous, poor or seedy factions. Left 4 Dead 2 factored this into the weapon’s design according to the developer’s commentary, which… [Continue Reading]

Summer Games Hit Overwatch!

Now there’s a 2016 Olympics you can attend without catching Zika! The Overwatch Olympics event has come with a new game mode, Lucioball, starring my personal favorite class in a 3v3 soccer match extremely reminiscent of Rocket League. I’ve played a crapton of it already and it’s insanely fun. However, Lucioball is the only part of the update that I can honestly get excited about. The new Summer Loot Crates come with only a single guaranteed summer event item, and all summer event items aren’t obtainable any other way, even credits. There are so, so many summer sprays and summer player icons… [Continue Reading]

A card game on The Daily SPUF???

This time I’m going to be writing about something a little different. Instead of a game you can play on your phone or computer, this game requires you to use physical items. Moreover, it requires you to *gasp* go meet other real life people. Weiss Schwarz is a card game made by Bushiroad. Unlike what the name might imply, it is a Japanese card game, not a German one. The game is divided into two sides, Weiss and Schwarz. The Weiss side is filled with the ‘cute’ series, while the Schwarz side is filled with the ‘cool’ series. You can… [Continue Reading]

Two things that bother me about Overwatch gameplay

From what I’ve watched and played of Overwatch, I’m overall mostly satisfied with how it all works. The majority of the problems I have are with non-gameplay related things, or my own stupid eyes and brain that give me a stupid headache after 10 minutes of play time. That’s enough for one, maybe two games if I’m lucky. But the more I watch other people play Overwatch, the more I realise that there are two major gameplay things that bother me. The first issue is the worrying amount of auto-aim going on. Off the top of my head, there are… [Continue Reading]

SCARs of War

As mentioned in this video, I recently moved from Texas to California. This has given me some quality time to reconnect with my family members who live on the West Coast. In particular, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my younger brother, who I have loads of memories growing up with but he was a little young to really remember me. While showing me his hobbies and life focuses, he revealed that he plays airsoft, and showed me his primary weapon: I was pretty surprised that the SCAR rifle found a way to once again sneak into my life,… [Continue Reading]

The Pros and Cons of Class Limits

We’ve all seen it before, the four Snipers on a team of twelve, taking up a third of the team, all being useless. People, especially newbies, drift towards Sniper because he is just like the characters you see in other shooters. Cool, collected, headshooters with powerful rifles. It’s familiarity in a world where giant Russians shoot down gas-masked lunatics for killing their friendly German doctors. But anyone with TF2 experience knows how useless Snipers are the more of them you have. They see these stupid team compositions and scream things like “F2PERS MUST BE SEPARATED FROM PREMIUM PLAYERS!” and “WE… [Continue Reading]

DayZ

You are dead. Those are words you will see a lot playing DayZ. What is DayZ? It’s the game that is eternally in early access. To be a bit more specific, it’s an open world survival game with zombies (I think they’re technically not zombies, but they sure act like it). In DayZ, you must survive a never ending cycle of thirst, hunger, zombies, and other players. Yes, other players are your biggest enemy. Sure the ever present zombies will cause you issues, but if you know what you’re doing then they won’t really be much of a threat. The… [Continue Reading]

Heavy vs. Pyro: The War Goes On

I voted for Team Heavy in the current ongoing War even though I knew Pyro was going to win in a landslide, but I honestly would love to see Heavy get some love. Pyro has enough silly nonsense about him already, I don’t think he needs more bizarre unlocks or reworks; just look at 2007 release Pyro and see how indistinguishable he’s become from his roots already. Heavy in contrast is basically the same, and that’s not fair because he could be an interesting class if just given a chance. Captain Blades recently released a steam guide covering alternate Heavy unlocks… [Continue Reading]
