Danthefinn’s Birthday Bash is over, and boy was that fun! I got to play Battle Medic on some hilariously kooky maps, and to my amazement, I found that I really liked the Syringe Gun. It’s actually a lot better then I thought at stacking up the damage if you just aim intelligently and know how to lead (and I think all that pulse-rifling in Loadout is what subconsciously prepared me for it). Eyelander Eyestravaganza has ended, and everyone had a blast! Ultimately, AdolfKirby took first, VenomousPastry took second, and Lord Yimzo took third! There were a LOT of heads rolling around in the end, and a number of people had moments of glory as a single beheading granted them 100+ heads in one go. The much-hypothesized event map turned out to be Turbine, which gave all of us a chance to try out Valve’s optimizing patches. “Mirrored Maps” event results!

That event was, in my personal opinion, one of our best yet! Ultimately Team 1 swept in a 3-1 victory, losing only Lwobtsud to a ninja backcap by team 2 spy John Caveson. But the real point was to try some mind-bending maps that challenged the hundreds of hours we collectively have on the classics, and I saw more than one person bump into a wall during the event.
