Why Rotom Is Best Pokemon

I already wrote an article on Rattata, my favorite Pokemon, but I also have a favorite ‘useful Pokemon’, ie my favorite who is actually viable in combat and can slot into teams with a goal of helping beat the game. It also happens to be the Pokemon I would pick if I got to keep one in real life. It’s Rotom! Rotom originated in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, and could only be obtained after beating the Elite Four. The Old Chateau is a haunted mansion with a dark and troubled past, and a single Rotom would attack you if you mess with… [Continue Reading]

A Tribute to Rattata, My Favorite Pokemon

I was in high school when Pokemania swept the country back in the 90s. I first learned about it when I was walking through my hometown’s shopping mall and Nintendo had a massive expo setup to promote the new movie Pokemon 2000: The Power of One. You got a free Pokemon card just for stopping by, and that was where I received my first Pokemon ever:   I fell into buying the playing cards and watching the TV show like every other kid, but I wasn’t allowed to play the games so it wasn’t until college that I finally got to play… [Continue Reading]

A Negative Article About Overwatch

Let it not be said that these fellows are the only ones who can wax poetic about negatives in Overwatch. SilverWolf can, for example, and Medic, and even me. But this article is different. It’s all about literal negative numbers in Overwatch, values that are usually impossible but for whatever reason have managed to show up where players least expect it. None of them were intentional, and in most cases Blizzard has already patched them. It’s a slow news day. 1. Negative Ultimate charge! If you’re tired of getting Play of the Game as Bastion, you can intentionally self-damage yourself while… [Continue Reading]

‘Corrupted’ Minecraft World

Ages ago, I created a world and put too much TNT in it, which caused Minecraft to crash. I deleted it and made a new world, but parts of the TNT world ended up appearing in this newly generated flatland, causing more crashes. I didn’t delete this world, but I forgot about it. Now I have a better computer, I decided to visit this world and see what was going on. This is what happened. For your sake, I’ve removed the hour long. one frame a second slide show, caused by such a vast amount of TNT. Seriously, this world… [Continue Reading]

Wrap Assassin updates

The updates hardly did anything, but I’m still immensely satisfied with the changes Valve made to the Wrap Assassin. Since my last article on this weapon, there have been two buffs. The first turned the ornament into a pseudo-explosive that deals area-of-effect but only bleed on a direct hit, which was driving me nuts because I didn’t actually know that when I recently picked the weapon back up, so I couldn’t figure out why I frequently got a hitsound but no resulting bleed hitsounds. But now that I understand it, I’m 100% okay with the entire concept. After all, previously nothing happened… [Continue Reading]

Medic, Oh Medic, Please Rescue Me

Medic, oh Medic, please rescue me I don’t like it here; I long to be free Medic, oh Medic, will you not save me? Save me from his antics (and misery) Medic, oh Medic, am I forgotten As I’m right next to a heart quite rotten? Medic, oh Medic, I hate it in here His brain is just full of chicken and fear Medic, oh Medic, how he tires me Despite warning, he dies to a sentry Medic, oh Medic, tell him not to taunt When he kills spies whose Dead Ringers they flaunt Medic, oh Medic, will he ever… [Continue Reading]

How to Get Your Friends to Play Undertale

“I’m sorry, why have ALL my friends begged me to play Undertale? I’ve played up to the Comic Sans jokes and I cannot stand all the false choice so far. NPC: Don’t progress further! I’m protecting you from the world for your own good! Go back to bed! “Do you wanna fight, talk, or flee from the friendly cow?” aabicus: Uhh, talk “You cant think of anything to talk about” aabicus: okay, flee? “you flee. it’s still in the way of the rest of the game” aabicus: I guess turn around and go back to bed “The narrator shouts at… [Continue Reading]

On Rambling Bohrok

In a recent article, I noted that a lot of my, um, knowledge in writing comes from running a writing forum. But my writing career started by writing Bionicle fan-fiction. Bionicle fan-fiction is actually rather different from most other fan-fiction, as only 80% of it is shit, the other 20% isn’t that bad and some of that 20% eventually gets made into canon when judged by BZPower moderator Bonesiii (the only person to know more about Bionicle than the creators of Bionicle’s lore) in contests. Alright, the sexy romance stuff (even MY pseudo-romance stuff) is always shit unless it’s Hewkii… [Continue Reading]

Distractions

Though I’ve seen plenty of articles on the Daily SPUF about TF2’s loadouts, balance, and players, as well as a ton of pieces on favorite maps and cosmetics, classes and weapons, I haven’t seen much about distractions. I’m not talking about in-game distractions, like the Sandvich Heavy that’s been crouch-walking everywhere for the last 10 minutes, or the 2nd Engineer that insists on placing his Sentry right next to yours. These distractions would make a good article of their own, but it would probably be of a darker tone. Decline and Fall of the TF2 Playerbase, anyone? Now where was… [Continue Reading]

PD2 – Practical Uses for the Hitman Perk Deck

Before August 2015 there were a lot of perk decks that sucked in Payday 2, but none of them sucked as much as Hitman. The only perk deck in the game with negative consequences for equipping it, and providing only meager armor regeneration bonuses and the ability to dual-wield pistols (but not as well as the Akimbo skill in the Fugitive deck), it’s underwhelming and only used by complete noobs like this guy. Then the Perk Deck rebalance came and Overkill buffed a bunch of weaker decks into truly awesome stuff. The only one they missed was Hitman, meaning there’s… [Continue Reading]
