A Complete Lack of Desire to do Arbitrations

The Arbiters of Hexis, in their black, silver and red.

The upcoming balance update in Warframe is going to give us some new mods. While I have already talked about why I’m not a fan of those mods, the other reason I’m not a fan is because of Arbitrations. The good mods can be purchased from the Arbiters of Hexis. Thankfully, although these mods will be okay to obtain, it means doing Arbitrations. And I hate doing Arbitrations. Now, to be fair, some things have changed. Arbitrations aren’t nearly as bad as they used to be. But I still have no desire to actually play them. There’s a complete lack… [Continue Reading]

Poor Emboar – Tepig Community Day

A couple of Tepigs

I’m going to be honest. Somehow, I completely forgot about Tepig Community Day. I was under the impression it’d be next week. But no, I was wrong, and July 3rd was Tepig Day. There’s a few… pros and cons around here. Everything about this event feels nerfed. Okay, I get it, there are few Pokemon as interesting as Gible. That day was great. Unfortunately, Tepig just doesn’t have much weight about it. So, even before we start, expectations are lower. But even the spawns and incense felt nerfed. Normally, when a Community Day starts, you get a huge explosion of… [Continue Reading]

The Bidoof Event was Fun

A Level 5 Bidoof Raid

For the end of June, we had a very silly event in Pokemon GO. Now, most events aren’t particularly serious, but most of the time things are pretty normal. All you get are different spawns, maybe some research and eggs. When the Bidoof Breakout event was announced, everyone just assumed it’d be a normal event, with increased Bidoof spawns. Well, we were… kinda right. Niantic seemed to go all out for this event. Rather than just plonking down some spawns, we actually got a  rather odd, general increase. The event started off with just a handful of Bidoof scattered around… [Continue Reading]

Wreck and Ruin

Banner

A lone stronghold stood in the plains, its banners vibrant, its walls resolute, a shield against whoever may come to conquer these lands. The interiors may not be luxurious, but it had all that is needed for a small group of soldiers to live on. The shelves were stocked, and the soldiers are protected from their foes and the elements within its walls. Alas, no fortifications hold for eternity, and soon the walls and the hopes of men crumbled. With the damages sustained, those who survived had to fall back, as the enemy charged towards them with utmost ferocity. As… [Continue Reading]

Balancing and Being Overpowered in a PvE Game

Vome is literally the only thing that stops everything from being red all the time.

One argument that comes up a lot in PvE games is how do you balance them? After all, you’re fighting AI, so balance should be easier, right? After all, there’s no human players around to bother you. You can’t hurt the feelings of AI characters and NPCs. They’re not alive, so they don’t care how badly they get their asses kicked by us. A common argument is that it’s just PvE stuff, so balance doesn’t matter. We can be overpowered all we like, nothing can stop us. But in all honestly, this argument just doesn’t hold up. There needs to… [Continue Reading]

Theorycrafting Thoughts on Galvanized On Kill Effects

Wukong and his Celestial Twin

Something is bothering me about this upcoming update to gun mods. The idea of buffing guns has always appealed to me. However, I’,m not sure why we’re going down the path we’re going. While I understand that melee was going to get a slap on the butt a little, the gun mods still just… don’t hold water. There seems to be something weirdly off about these new Galvanized mods before we even get them. The whole concept is flawed. Seriously. While the idea behind these mods are cool, there’s something missing here. These mods are all designed to have a… [Continue Reading]

The Pitta Bread ‘Conspiracy’

Image by Samir Biscevic from Pixabay

Living in what is essentially just west of the Middle East, pitta bread is very common. Pitta breads (pita in American English) are flat breads with pockets. They are also very tasty. Pitta bread seems to be best known in two different ways to the more Western world. It’s either cut into slices to use as scoops for dip. Or, more commonly, you wrap a pitta around kebab meat. But there’s something off about the humble pitta bread. The Pitta is a versatile bread. In fact, this humble bread has many forms, all over the Mediterranean and Middle East! Really,… [Continue Reading]

Dear Person with the Buzz Saw

Poor old Hydroid

Dear person with the buzz saw, You probably won’t ever read this. After all, why would you? I’m just some random person who lives nearby, completely anonymous to you, writing a rant post on a website you’ve never heard of. And you, you’re a person with a buzz saw, happily doing some DIY. At least, I assume it’s a buzz saw. For all I know, it could be a chain saw. Or an angle grinder. Heck, it might even be some sort of sander. But I don’t know, I’ve never seen it. It belongs to you, someone who lives in… [Continue Reading]

Overwatch: On 5v5

I’ve long stopped playing Overwatch and I’ve even been 99% successful at not writing articles about it either. But after a long conversation with Phovos on the incoming 5v5 changes, plus seeing the community collectively freak out harder than CS:GO’s after the R8 incident, I finally feel like I have at least 500 words to say on the incoming change. Why I like the change Part of me feels bad taking the dev’s side, as I have an unfortunate habit of siding against the outraged gamer hordes in situations like these. Yet I can’t help but see a lot of positives… [Continue Reading]

The 5 next best Team Rocket counters in Pokemon GO

The 5 next best Pokemom to use against Team Rocket

A while ago, aabicus went over the the 5 best Team Rocket counters in Pokemon GO. His list was very strong for the grunts back then. However, we’ve received more Pokemon over time, and some Grunts have changed. Aabicus’s list is still a great setup that can beat any team you come across. But there are other Pokemon worth considering. Specifically, the ones in this list! Machamp Machamp is great. Sure, you can use Lucario or that other guy. But Machamp is simply too easy to get, power up and give a second move to. Sure, you can give Riolu… [Continue Reading]
